Considering to become a DEV

Yeah, you read right. I am considering to become a dev, depending on how things turn out.

So i am curious about some things since i don't have any experience in this porn game stuff when it comes to making it. I have played pretty much everything but i feel bored.

Quick questions that i really need answers on

1 - How long does it take to learn how to make a Porn based game? for a Newbie that does not know anything about making them?

2 - Since my head is completely fucked from watching gore porn since i was 10 years old. How high are the restrictions when it comes to gore porn // Rape porn ? ( That is what i am gonna make )

3 - I will probably make something similar to Sealed Breed room 2 since that is my favorite games, any suggestions that would make it alot more messed up then just kidnapping and mentally breaking?

1 - How long does it take to learn how to make a Porn based game? for a Newbie that does not know anything about making them? I looked up a python tutorial and learned everything I needed to know to code ren'py in about an hour and a half. In fact, all the tutorial really did was make me comfortable enough with python that I was able to look at ren'py code and understand what I was seeing.

2 - Since my head is completely fucked from watching gore porn since i was 10 years old. How high are the restrictions when it comes to gore porn // Rape porn ? ( That is what i am gonna make ) If you wanna make money with gore and rape that's gonna be hard. Most funding mechanisms won't accept you and the ones that do are more expensive. Also you're dealing with a very niche audience when it comes to gore. Rape can get over to a larger audience but still kinda backing yourself into a corner. I'm not sure if F95 has a problem with gore, you'd have to check their rules, but I don't remember seeing it. However almost every female protag game is full of rape, so I'm sure rape is allowed

Depends, what engine do you plan to use? What type of mechanics do you want to implement? Are you going 3D/2D. Are you doing a VN, side scroll, first/third person, point and click, top down? How dedicated and amount of time can you put forth into learning? Do you have the budget to hire or buy assets?. There's a lot of moving gears and a lot of work that goes into development. With that said, I'll give you a rough idea of how long it took me.

Some things I would like to mention before I continue, I'm a solo dev, using UE4. As it stands at the time of writing this post, I'm roughly 7 months into my development / learning. 7 months ago, I had no experience or the skill to the following, 3D modeling, rigging, animating, texturing, sound design, coding, and environment design. Yes, I've spent the last 7 months learning what I just mention, and as it stands right now, I can safely say, I can make my own assets, semi animate, and build and code a world inside UE4. There's still a lot more things I need to learn along the way, but I can assure you I'm very comfortable creating a game inside UE4.

Again as I mention at the start, it depends on the scope of your game, and how much time and effort you're willing to put in.

The restrictions depends on how much of it happens. If your game's primary focus is just gore/rape, then as mention by darthseduction, it'll be a lot harder for you to get money out of it.

There's loads of way to make it more messed up than that (just add gore/rape to that and I'm sure your imagination can take over), keep in mind this might not appeal to a lot of audience, and most platform most notably Patreon, wouldn't tolerate that kind of adult content. This isn't to say you shouldn't make such a game, but just know it'll be hard if you plan to make any money.

1 - Renpy in particular is extremely easy to learn, so long as you have the most cursory understanding of logic.

2 - Monitizing a rape/gore game is going to be pretty dificult. I can't think of any successful games based on gore and forcible rape (but then those are far outside my tastes so it's entirely possible there's some Dating My Dismembered Torso out there somewhere). You could contact creators of games you like and see if they have some method of monetization.

3 - A game like Forced Room Breed would probably be a lot of work for a new dev. You could definitely do something along those lines in Ren'py but you'd have to make extensive use of it's screen scripting language. I suggest you start out with a visual novel and keep learning about whatever engine you go with, adding in features as you go further and further.

I think you should make the gore stuff optional, that way you'll appeal to larger audience
but that only matters if you wish to make money off your game.
