All is in the same place and, while short, most configuration option have their own help (the "?" icon).
I am not trying to berate you at all on this. I greatly appreciate your mod to the playability of the game. I have no illusion here that you 'owe' anything, this is just my observation and a request to see if there was a way to fix it.
I posted this in the main game thread as well but seemed unlikely, but the *only* reason why I'm posting in your thread is that in your mod you had other 'fixes' to the base game. And can easily accept a response that you wont or it's outside the scope of the mod.
As F1forhalp mentioned the main point of this is really the lack of a scene gallery (it is the underlying reason why I do not want to progress past certain scenes as you can't see them again). I posted and communicated this to Mr. C on his patreon but he never fixed that.

Tip for the future:
Look at the first page of the mod thread.
All of them need to follow the same format, and the first thing after the description is the date when the mod was updated for the last time. A bit below there's also the version of the game covered by the mod ; something useful for mods like mines, that don't necessarily need to be updated every time.

I know you haven't touched on this mod for a while, and I don't know how hard it would be to change, but would it be possible to make it so the cheat menu doesnt disappear if you dont click exactly on the increment and decrement symbols? Could then either add a X button to leave or click outside the book interface.
That would be really nice QoL for mobile.

did you try to put the game into a different folder?
not certain with Mac, i only know the common windoze really loves to restrict user access to some locations, like desktop and such, to 'mere users'. then you'd get errors like that whenever the game tries to write something onto disk, like log files or saves or settings changes.

Hmm...
The file is supposed to be wrote in the same place where Ren'Py write its own "log.txt" file, precisely to prevent this kind of issue. But it's possible that it's not strictly the case. I'll take a look at that when I have the time and brain capabilities.
I just began playing and get the same error. I'm also using the Kinnerman Mod (https://f95zone.to/threads/corruption-cheat-mod-v2-30-kinnerman.5963/), so I'm going to try with a fresh install and each mod by itself.
Edit: it works fine without the Kinnerman Mod.
