And I still really want and wait for the expansion of the scenes with Sandre and Caera
At least some light novels are funny and clever like Konosuba. That and y'know, they're aimed at kids.Weebs.
You ever tried to read a light novel?
This just seems needlessly neutral. Yes obviously they aren't going to do it, but that isn't the point. It shouldn't need to be changed or reworked in the first place. It shouldn't feel like a completely different game in the first place. Christ, one review on Steam even calls it a "side story". Go read something else or implement this after the game is already finished if you want to have a side story. Either that or make it actually fit with the game in meaningful ways rather than hijacking it to put your fan-fic into it.Taking time out to change or reroute it based on criticism from a relative minority of the customer base just probably isn't ever going to happen.
this popped on on my amazon preview thingy. That's for nextgame, not this one iirc. Tobs doesn't get to do kitsune 2.0.
If I recall correctly that conversation was more about how kitsune were like a full third of the game, which I can't imagine didn't hurt the variety and scope of the game as a whole.
Weebs.

TiTSThat's not yet all my frustration...

Really? WTF?
I'm assuming that doesn't account for steam sales either. I'm getting critcal bliss and yandere dev vibes after seeing those numbers. I know that money is getting split amongst multiple people, but with that much money they should be able to work full time on this, and have more content pushed out.TiTS

they make some decent bank for how little they actually release IMO
dont get me wrong I enjoy both games and play them a couple times a month
but for 40k a month I would personally expect more =P
I know of yandere dev, but I have never heard of critcal bliss, is that another game developer?I'm assuming that doesn't account for steam sales either. Do people know what poly means?

Berwyn (HugsAlright)= Poly
Berwyn (B) = ?
Eltheryn and Atugia = false, poly.
Critcal Bliss started on Newgrounds. They announced a game my Neighbor is demons, so it was supposed to be a VN hentai game about a super horny college who scared off her boyfriend because she was so horny. After that these two demon twins move in next door and try to get her to embrace her horny side. It got announced like 5 years ago. Never came out despite meeting its kick starter goal and having a patreon. From my understanding the artist randomly abodoned the project. They still publish games, but still haven't released the original project.I know of yandere dev, but I have never heard of critcal bliss, is that another game developer?
Ive just always been surprised about how much these two games make, mostly because its text based and I assume there is less involved in updating it (I dont know anything about codes or developing things so)
It feels like creating scenes would be easier to do, pictures are minimal and usually very simple in design like its just writing it out...which once again doesn't take very long
its really not that much different from a hentai doujin right? the foundation is there so I assume adding a new character along with a few paragraphs of dialogue shouldnt be too difficult especially since as you said there is multiple people
but im just ranting because im bored and waiting for my lasagna <_<
no real complaints since im not super invested in this game >_>
I am honestly curious how much work it takes to create a new character or scene if anyone knows :3
(Like actual work say, putting in a 8 hour day grind) like someone who has to work for their paycheck
The last thing I wrote professionally came out to about 12kwords. I wrote it over the course of about 2 weeks. (It might've been about 9 or 10 days.) If you include the editing and waiting for feed back in total it would have been about a month start to finish before it was published . So, I would agree with your estimate. It's a bit more than a hentai doujin and certainly mone than a few paragraphs.
For instance, some numbers I recall off the top of my head, Noire, the sheepgirl from the baths, was 200 pages. Tatsuya, the male Kiyoko type character Jstar was working on, was commissioned at 20k words ( but is quite a bit longer, apparently).
We had this discussion a month ago, and I found a website that had a bunch of both professional and semi-professional authors on it, and most of them recommend doing around 1000 words per day.
So a month to write a very basic character with few to no variables, a month for review and editing, and another month to make it through the coding queue - three months from farm to table?
Note: I'm 100% guessing, I have no expertise, just what I've observed from being around these games for awhile.
From what Ive read, part of the issue is with visibility of the content. A character that accounts for a bunch of variables and differences might have a scene that's 200 words but took 300-400 to type because of the parsers they work with. So often it can look like there's less there than there is.

Ryn = as monogamous as Champ wants
You say 3 months yet it takes 5x longer due to them not having the best coder(s) around. It took Gedan YEARS to do space combat in TiTs. The problem is that when your team consist of friends you are not hard on them so they don't produce content that is either up to a standard or delivered on time. Look at Dizzy, she done for months but the team sat on doing the JS conversion for a long time for ???? reason when everyone knew that flash was going to die. It's a bit more than a hentai doujin and certainly mone than a few paragraphs.

Plenty. None of them were as boring as the Kitsune stuff. Even the most trashy, wish fulfillment ones.Weebs.

How many years and how much money does it take to make someone not an amateur anymore? I think we're well past that excuse. Also, in any case, comparing a coder for an amateur porn game to an AAA programmer in the first place seems a bit unfair.
So does TiTs and CoC count as "Equivalent experience" or do we need to get a GoFundMe page and send the Devs a porn creation scholarship into Harvard to get their degree?Well, a quick google search pulls up...around 80k a year, from several sources, for a single programmer. So certainly more than the ones of this project make.
As for years...dunno? Technically I think someone is a professional when working a job that requires a degree or equivalent experience.
