VN - Ren'Py - Cosy Cafe [v0.12.1] [Cosy Creator]

Probably the most wholesome AVN I've played. Especially recommended to people that just mainline an AVN once with guide just to see the optimal results - as it's a kinetic novel so you don't need any guide, it's mostly like watching a movie or reading a book.

What makes this one stand out for me is believable, relatable characters - sure, they might often fall into classic harem story stereotypes, but their backstory and interactions with MC are very well written. It really makes you care for the characters, and can even flip your perception of an unlikable girl in single scene and make you look at her in different light.

I'm being honest, I have no idea why this is so highly rated, it's boring as fuck at the best of times. Maybe I don't like harems anymore or just hate lovey dovey stuff because I'm bitter and lonely. This harem focused kinetic novel is certainly a feel good story which gives the harem lover exactly what they ask for....but its just too easy story-wise. I just got to the point where Victoria got collared and officially becomes a girlfriend ( yes, that corny shit happens here outside of a fantasy setting) and there's just 0 conflict for anything leading me to drop it out of boredom.

1st girl Lucy: is stacked to high heaven with 10/10 everything, has ZERO friends besides the 1 girl who has ZERO friends, completely pure virgin with an abusive mom. Very obvious story hook for her to become a gf completely reliant on the MC (why do the reviews say this has good writing?).

2nd girl Victoria: This is the kind of bully bitch you'd maybe blackmail subtly or not and corrupt. Nope. MC gives her a job and she sends him nudes on day 1 of their acquaintance and then she lost her (cunty) lifelong friends for the MC and the waitress position. She ends up moving in and relying on MC. She's also a pure virgin with a supermodel body. .....do you see the pattern yet?

3rd girl Akatsuki: might be the hottest girl here, but she's very shy, barely speaks a word and doesn't have friends( or literally any personality), probably never even had a boyfriend . Anyway, she strips down to her underwear in front of the MC her 1st day working in the cafe and is the 1st one to suck his dick (she asked).

4th girl Sarah: part of the famous and powerful Founding Families: has no friends besides Lucy (because ofc). Hot as fuck.

Reviews swore up and down this was peak writing. The best thing I can say about it so far is that it my 12 year old self's wet dream, the worst thing I can say about it is that it lacks so much real conflict, it bored me out of playing other harem games. Like, I hate that dreaded certain n tag so not that, but fuck me put in some facial expressions, actual corruption, sound effects, corruption, don't make the girls (besides Lucy) fall in love so easily, none of the girls even mind sharing the MC at all, this is a BORING pussy collecting simulator.

At first, I was a little put off by the strange face-angles and stuff like Akatsuki's name (My impression is that it's directly lifted off from Naruto... plus the strange joke about her dad being Korean with a Chinese restaurant and a Jap surname?)

But my doubts were soon put to rest. The relationships are really sweet, with great amounts of character development. It's a little too early to see if the author will follow up on already concluded storylines , but I have faith that he will.

Not sure how to feel about Rachel, but Author has to do a lot of heavy lifting to have her be a main girl. I'd rather Annabelle or maybe Sam tbh.

There's a strong amount of outer plot devices/politics that force the plot forward and provide some trials for the protag to overcome. For that I'm glad Akari exists too.

Tl;DR: Cosy Cafe is one of those rare few games that has enough kink and story that makes me feel a void once I'm done with the current update. Hungry for more, keep it up!

Harem plot with the main character being the last heir of one of the five families that control the city. With a hero complex, that adds the girls he saves to his harem by offering jobs at his CosyCafe. Plot is excellent, spent 9 hours playing through the game in one sitting, would recommend.

Simply the best VN i have ever read.
It doesnt have the best visuals nor audio nor insanly in depth plot nor branching paths.
But it's simply super fun and a joy to read.
I love the overall "happy/cosy" feelings from it and to someone who feels like shit daily this is better than anti depressants.
The drama is super "light" stuff only to give emphasis to a scene or problem that needs to be solved ASAP, example catherine family situation or to evolve the plot.
Choosing to have no choises and focus only on narrative is an excelente approach, expecially since VN "choices" 99% of the time are a joke and only 2 actually do something.
I pretty much love every character and i find it impressive how cosy creator can make possibly 10 girls for the harem and make all of them interesting.
Super hyped for the future I hope cosy creator keeps working on it absolute 10/10 give it a read ASAP.

This is such a lovely story that is brilliantly written. Each chapter just flies by with characters that you really care about. One of my favourites, that I have to read as soon as its posted. Settle in, relax and enjoy.

Honestly the best game I've played on this site.

The characters all feel unique and the interactions between them and the MC, and each other, all feel natural and well done.

The renders are pretty good but some parts like the girls' private parts just look off, and the texture around their elbows just look odd. Still definitely 5 stars from me.

Favorite game here. LIs are great, each develop very nicely, fun variety in both shape and personality. Story touches on sad tones, but is still light enough to be enjoyable. The story feels so fast on a replay, it's not bad, but funny how much happens in a month.

So fricken worth a playthrough!!

The story is not an uncommon AVN trope, but its done well. The story has decent pacing, for an AVN. The characters are well thought out and there is a really nice variety of personality types. So often the harem aspect comes across in a really skeevy way, but not here at all here it just makes sense. The art, for this style, is really top notch. The animations definitely get better over time. The body types are not super varied, but it doesn't detract from the enjoyment really.

Boiling it down to brass tax, it was just really fun. Lots of content and very worth checking it out.

An amazing game, the story and writing are really good, (it taught me some new English words ), the characters are so lovable, renders and animations are great for a first time game, with support and time I believe Cosy will just get better and better. Overall: would definitely recommend.

I love this game. Every character feels unique, and though there isn't a lot of sex, when it does happen it feels right.

The story is a little confusing at first, and if you are just blowing through to get the hot stuff, you probably won't enjoy it. This is definitely the type of game to take your time and enjoy the ride.

This is probably the first visual novel game that I’ve actually read from start to finish. The story is good, even though it’s not exactly original — still the usual drama involving noble families. Well, at least it’s more engaging than the half-baked games I’ve tried before. The characters are also quite well-designed, and I absolutely love Lucy — a warm and adorable girl who always worries when you're upset. She's truly wife material.
I wonder if it’s just me, but some characters seem to look a bit too similar in scenes where they’re facing the MC directly.
I think the only thing I didn’t really like about this game is that the H-scenes are pretty tame. I mean, there’s only one position per scene, and everything moves really slowly. I kinda wish they were a bit more intense.

Where do I start? This game is one of the first I played when I joined F95, and calling it a gateway drug doesn't do it justice.

Some games, I need to replay from the beginning because I don't remember what's going on. I replay this from the beginning because it's just that good. My only regret is that I can't play it for the first time from start to finish.

This game is nearly perfect. The writing is top notch. Just, everything about it. The characters are well written, believable, and have their own distinct personalities. The plot is a little ridiculous, but that's par for the course with these games. But it works in universe.

When I think of gold standard games, this is one of the ideals games should aspire to.

Well the game is very ... cosy. You have some drama, and sad backstory, but most the game are lighthearted harem (pure harem) with some light maledom.
What the game do best imo are the harem dynamic, as the girls are interacting with each other, the linear story help that aspect by not complicated the story path with who in and who not in the harem. The LIs are all different from one another, each has her own story, their own romance development. Overall 4.5/5, suit you if someday you prefer cutesy wholesome story.

Considerable upside:

Amidst intriguing small town oligarchy-plutocracy, MC builds a loving and considerate harem-family-home with light and playful BDSM elements. Considering the story and the dev's ability to create reasonably varied LIs beautiful inside and out, this game should've been an easy 5-star.

Considerable downside:

Despite the presence of several sweethearts, most female characters are either tsunderes or bitchy broads who don't qualify as LIs. Some of the bitchiest LIs are also the ugliest. Dumping their lifeless bodies in a landfill would be preferable. Though MC is a dom in theory, he endures endless abuse because he's a huge pussy in reality, incapable of standing up to (or even walking away from) endlessly annoying females.

The men in this game share too much resemblance, including the thoroughly oversized, deformed, unnatural, and stiff neck and shoulders associated with garbage anime. Not sure if this was intended as an in-joke, but either way it detracts from the quality.

There's a drab, minimalist style to the game. An occasional piece of decor would go a long way. Despite this minimalism, which includes the flawless and ultra-smooth skin of the young females, their elbows and knees are extremely dry, wrinkly, and detailed over a large region, as if they were corpses were left to rot in a blazing desert.

Definitely closer to four stars than two, this game is worth playing so long as you don't mind being called an idiot 4,000 times.

p.s. One of your LIs has an "older sister" who is "twelve or thirteen." I don't think the dev understands the concept of an "older sister."

This is undoubtably one of the very best games available. It is heart warming and sexy at the same time. Few games can compete with it even if they have better generation graphics or animation, which is not a knock in the slightest to the cute graphics of this game. This is an absolute winner with an amazing cast of characters worthy of all your attention and compelling story. I am eager for every chapter.

This is probably the second best written game after Ripple. Dialogues feels real and "the harem dilemma" is handled with care. The erotic content is quite spare, but when it happens its really good. One unique thing in this game is that we actually have a true height for our characters, which results in most of the shorter girls having to look up to you, that felt very immersive and also kinda cute.

I love the detail that this game goes into. The graphics may not be the best but who cares when the creator really invests time into character development and makes you fall in love with them?

I look forward to every update for this game and the creator does churn out updates quite fast.

Lucy kicked my ass and stole my heart. This is easily my favorite slice of life AVN, binged it all the way to the most recent update (as of 05/20/2025) in 2 sittings. All the girls are endearing, there's political intrigue, and even as far as straight up harem kinetic novels go, this one really made me feel the chemistry between all the LIs and the MC.
