I haven't played the greek updates at all yet, but I've been wondering the same thing about moving into the greek house. How does the game even handle that if you still have the roommate and roommate's partner's questlines active? Since I'm assuming a 'perk' is that you get to live there alone and the roommate doesn't magically follow you, so unless your old dorm is kept as a fallback option to crash there then it'd basically be impossible to complete iirc. And you'd also still have to go out of your way to take showers there in the mornings to trigger the dares because I doubt that the partner will show up at the greek house either. It'd make the best friend's all-nighter path a little awkward to finish too, and to a lesser extent the party path, but if you're at the just visiting them at night phase then it's not so bad I suppose (on a side note, can the best friend actually move into the greek house with you when you do, if they've pledged to join the same one as you? It'd be nice if we could make them be our new roommate; there's a suggestion for future content lol). Which makes me feel like this entire aspect of the greek house update wasn't thought out very well, when it doesn't seem to mesh properly with what are probably considered to be the game's primary, secondary and tertiary quests that all revolve around living in Chicory Hall. Perhaps the option to relocate rooms should be locked until those have been completed, or is that requirement too much?Played the update a bit, unlocked the house's tiers. Storywise they appear a bit lame to me. I don't know, seems like a disappointing update to me and. Can someone point out the pros? You don't have permission to view the spoiler content. My votes in priority order:There's a new poll about the next major update out. Here's the list:
- Crime and punishment: Getting caught streaking by campus security, breaking into buildings after hours, violating the rules of your residence hall... these are all things you can do, but currently there are no consequences! This item would focus on interactions with campus security and town police, with your resident advisor, and with campus administration. Your punishments might include fines, a night in jail, administrative probation, community service, or you might have the opportunity to deflect some consequences thanks to this being an adult game. I would probably want to add some new crimes too, shoplifting and the like, to really put that new Troublemaking skill through its paces.
- Consequences: You might have noticed that never attending class or never making your weekly payments doesn't really have any super severe consequences. Academic or administrative probation might be in your future (again, there's some overlap with the above item), and you may even end up kicked out of college! Temporarily, at least. Staying at a local hostel while you try to get your life back together (assuming you're interested in doing so) would be a unique living experience and unique challenge.
- Year advancement: As you've noticed if you've played through a whole year, it's groundhog day — while you keep your story progress, you otherwise begin a new year that is much the same as the first. In an update focusing on year advancement, I would add new classes and new professors, let you pick new electives or change your major, and eventually even graduate. I'd like to try to scope in an update to the homework system with this too — making it a bit more interesting with different possible types of projects, including having an assigned partner or needing to do a group project, which of course can lead to all sorts of dynamics with NPCs. Speaking of NPCs, this update would mean that some come and go through the years, or some students may convert to townies.
- Background NPC simulation: Currently, NPCs are generated at the start of your game and never change much except in scripted storylines. I would like to add a background simulation that sees them change over time, starting relationships and breaking up, having their own friends and enemies, and, particularly with your help, gaining new skills and inclinations. NPCs would have their own dramas going on, surfaced in new events and social media interactions, with friends and partners often pulling you into their own drama. This pairs pretty well with year advancement, and as with the other pairing, doing either of them will lay some groundwork for the other — which one comes out ahead will determine what exactly gets scoped in.
- Pregnancy: Now, this is a bit of a tricky one, so I'll say right off that I wouldn't plan to scope this by itself but rather work this into a broader update depending on what else does well in this poll. Some people really want me to work on this, and some people really do not want me to work on it, so it's a bit complicated and I'd be aiming to compromise. We made a start on this with pregnancy risk assessment and contraception, but it has yet to go as far as actual consequences. If it doesn't do well in this poll, I still have plans to iteratively add this over time, but if you really want me to prioritize it, this is your chance. Anything that touches on background NPC simulation stuff would also lay some groundwork for this, so that makes for a good combo. This item will focus on pregnancy itself and taking care of an infant will not be part of the scope.
When you set your character's gender, your roommate's gender will be randomly picked from these pools:7éme test: i win (but i don't know why she's a girl this time !)
i know that the dev always do proper research and try to find a way to make it work in sugarcube, but it will not be simple and will take a while to get to the next major update. but i have faith in the dev and the team supporting this game... By the way background NPC simulation could be the game's most complex update yet and I don't think HTML/Sugarcube/Twine engine can handle it. Maybe the dev should consider move to other engine such as Java like Lilith's Throne for example.
Moving to the greek house does indeed break the roommate partner questline, since a lot of it triggers when you enter your original dorm room. Luckily you can still get into the room by crossing from the rest room or showers. I think the only ones you need are archetype, type, and species. I'm not sure about skills. Also, another question related to this: do we need to fill out all of these variables? And do we have to fill out everything in them?
1. E.g., suppose I just want to make an NPC with a certain height, plumpness, etc., but don't want to specifically set their areola size and nipple type and want to just let the game handle that for me. Can I just not enter "areola size" and "nipple type" then, and the game will automatically generate it? Or do I need to fill everything out?
2. Or suppose I want to make an NPC that's good at cooking, but then want to let the game randomly generate the rest of their skills. Can I just enter"Cooking": 3and nothing else, and that'll let the game randomly assign them other skills? Or do I need to enter every single skill?
EDIT: I see that in the Archetypes section for townies, faculty, and students, there are variables for skills which someone has "perfected", or else is "proficient", "skilled", or "dabbling" in. I wonder if that can be used when creating NPCs? Or if any skills not specified here will use them as a fallback?
The dev diary specifically mentioned inclinations and skills.A little disappointing that the dev seems to have interpreted npc simulation as developing relationships with each other. For me the second biggest disappointment of the game was finding out that the rpg mechanics only apply to the player. I want to be able to develop npc skills and inclinations, for example turning your professor into a masochistic exhibitionist. Having npcs change their status with each other over time doesn't seem very exciting.

earlier this year i asked on the official discord whether npcs would develop skills or inclinations over time like the player can. when i learned it's not supported, i was disappointed tooA little disappointing that the dev seems to have interpreted npc simulation as developing relationships with each other. Yes, you are one year older after birthday. I remember that currently, if you select certain months as your birthday, you start the game as 19 instead of 18.Question: So I'm aware that after summer you repeat freshman year. But when it's your birthday does it age you up? Or does it keep you on the same age?
I recently tested this and can confirm that if your start a game with a birthday in Frostuary, Meltember, Springril or Jaugust then you begin as 19 instead. It's apparently the game's way of simulating that you were 18 in your last year of highschool, which I understand for obvious (underage) reasons it might be necessary, but it does kinda ruin the RP when you're limited to choosing from one of the following three months after game start if you actually want to be 18 which means you only get to stay as 18 for a max of 84 days. And tbh I think that restriction should be removed, since the game doesn't really seem to simulate a birth year apart from that anyway, so as long as we're still being marked as a minimum of 18 regardless, then the realism aspect of highschool birthday cutoffs shouldn't need to apply here imo. It just narrows our options for creativity.Yes, you are one year older after birthday. I remember that currently, if you select certain months as your birthday, you start the game as 19 instead of 18.
