Create HTML game

Hi there,

I'm looking into creating a HTML game out of a story that I'd started to write on CHYOA. I think it'll be 10 times easier in this format with variable management etc. I have got some history with HTML code.

My question was are there any templates or software to use? I only ask cause I see all the HTML games have the same format. ie. A black background, side bar on the left etc.
