Creating Animations in Chara Studio

I’ve asked for help on Reddit and Discord pages, but no one replied, so I’m trying my luck on my favorite forum. So far, no question I’ve asked here has gone unanswered. Anyway, I want to create sex animations using Chara Studio, but I don’t know how to do it. It might be a mistake to jump into this without fully learning the studio, but I still want to gain some information.

From what I understand, there are two different methods (if I’m wrong and there are more, please let me know): using pre-made animations and the timeline feature. I’ve looked at a few videos about the timeline, and it seems very complicated. So, before spending time learning it, I tried the other method, which I thought was simpler, but I wasn’t successful with that either.

After adding two characters and selecting the appropriate animations, I use the "Move Copy" button in the workspace section to synchronize the characters, but the result looks very low quality.

As you can see in the attached photo, the man’s hands and crotch are clipping into the woman’s hips. It looks very amateurish. How can I fix this? Or should I even try to fix it? Should I just focus on learning the timeline instead of messing with these pre-made animations? Of course, I’d like to create the highest quality animations over time, but my priority is something simple and quick.

Also, as I mentioned earlier, feel free to suggest completely different approaches. I’m pretty new to Chara Studio and know almost nothing about it, so if there are other ways to create animations that I don’t know about, I’d like to learn them.

You need to select both of your characters and select the "ReAll" button to restart the animations for both characters after you Move Copy them. This is because when you select an animation to play, it starts the animation immediately and the animations of the two characters are no longer in sync, but "ReAll" restarts both animations at the beginning, therefore syncing them.

Timeline is good for making animations completely from scratch. The VNmaker plugin can also make animations from scratch and might be less daunting for newcomers.

Nodeconstraints is the third way of making animations in Charastudio. You combine pistons and character FK and IK nodes, linking them together to make animations. It's pretty hacky, but this method allows you to use the default animations and tweak them.

All in all, creating new animations in Charastudio is somewhat advanced and there's very few resources to learn how to do it. If you plan to create your own animations, you should get really acquainted with the IllusionGames discord and get really comfortable asking and searching the help section for answers.

The "ReAll" button was really helpful, thank you! Now the animation looks much better. Both characters are in sync, and their hands are steady, no longer clipping through the girl. However, there’s still an issue with the penis, and I need to fix it. I’m attaching an example image for reference.

There are points on the penis, similar to those in the FK&IK section. I think I can use these points to adjust the penis and keep it from clipping into the hip, but I haven’t figured out how to do it. When I click on the points, the penis doesn’t move at all. I’ve explored the Advanced menu—I can even move the hair—but I can’t figure out how to move the penis. Do you have any advice on this?

I don't use the default penis so I haven't tried moving it til now. However, in my limited testing, it seems like you can only move the penis by manipulating the bones manually in advanced mode.

If you open up KKPE and go into Adv. Mode, in the Bones section, look up either 'Penis' or 'dan'. There's a bunch of bones named cm_J_dan102, 103, etc. You can manipulate the rotation or position of these bones in order to move the penis.

I don't use the default penis so I don't know if this is the right way to go about animating this. In Honey Select 2 which I use, we have a separate penis modded item that automatically shrinks when it enters the girl's vagina so I don't have to worry about that. It's called S-Dick Type A Track Nearest. It might be available in Koikatsu, might not be. Koikatsu and Honey Select are made on the same engine so many of the mods and characterstudio are identical.
