As the title suggests, I'm currently making my own 2d-art game, with original art/story ect. I know for a fact a lot of people hate combat systems/focusing on gameplay more than the actual reason people play these games. Which is why I'm doing a vn in the story based format. So you make choices that move the story but the story never takes a break if that makes sense, there are however side quests inbetween.

Just wondering what tags/related you like to see in something like that.

While I agree with the not asking people what they want and just do your own thing Personally, I think that asking for ideas or suggestions may not be a bad idea and might help with brainstorming and coming up with your game

Good Luck :D

And I know for a fact that around the same number of people like this and want to see it more often.

Well, a lot of people hate this, but well, like above, around the same number of people like it, so it must be good.

All of them, and also none of them.
Every single person is unique, there isn't such a thing as "the ideal game". Even more confusing, people can dislike something and still tolerate it because the game/story/CG/whatever is good, and well, "for this time why not".

So, like @redknight00 implied, just make the game you want, the way
you want, with the content you want. Anyway, if you don't do it like this, your game will be yet another polluting trash. Not because you (personally) can't do it, but because you (globally) can't write a good and interesting story if it don't come from your own imagination, and you (still globally) can't manipulate fetishes if you don't share them in a way or another.
Don't try to please us, try to please yourself. And if you achieve this, then you'll find your public.

Like everyone else said, but also take constructive criticism and feedback without compromising your vision of what they game will be.

Decide what things you won't budge on (mine is changing my characters), but I need lots of writing and coding help, and players will be a valuable resource for feedback. The more criticism and advice you respond to positively, the more they give, because players want you to succeed and make a good game.

I have no idea where you get these "facts" from but the sheer popularity of H RPG's says you are so very, very wrong.

A few vocal people on this site may hate gameplay but they live under the misguided impression that this is a porn site and all things must be sex all the time.

Nobody listens to those people.

Except you it seems.

That's not a very productive effort, see, people have different tastes and if you ask that we want you'll either end up with a dozen specific wishes from players that have nothing to do with each other or yet another Mom/Older Sister/Younger Sister game.

When people want to start a company, they do a market research. It is usually a longer procedure than the actual starting. E.g. you want to sell alcohol. There are dozens but you don't like beer and the bigger companies are already have the biggest interest in stocks.

I would do the same thing in your case too. Do a market research. Go through F95 forums. See the bigger games how they got their support etc. What is the most searched feature in games. What were the mistakes, how can you overcome. See what you want. If it's not your liking, go further to another topics.
