VN - Ren'Py - Culture Shock [Ch. 3 v0.2 SE] [King of lust]

I played this game from the NTR/beta/cuck perspective, and as I understand it that is much of the appeal of this game. If you hate NTR you probably won't like this and will complain.

I'm conflicted on this game. There are some real high points, and some real lows.

Pros

• I quite like the stats and the straightforward gameplay.
• The beta/cuck route was done really well and really strongly. Great stuff if you're into that angle.
• I liked the interracial content, which was there but also didn't get to be too much.
• Chapter 1 was really strong. It had good plot, interesting (and likable) characters, somewhat believable but not boring sex moments. As I played through the first portion of the game, it quickly seemed like this would be one of my favorite all-time adult games or AVNs.

Cons:

• As I continued through, the writing fell apart. With it, the gameplay, plot line, and mechanics did too.
• The writing really degenerates part of the way through things. I'm curious as to why that happened. Did the creator stop using editors? Just laziness or rushing out releases? Some of it is in the form of egregious misspellings or extra letters on words. It also impacts the characters within the story-- for instance, Emma (who was perviously thoughtful and sweet in her manner towards the MC) may go through a crucial dialogue saying "No.o. I am busy. I dont want to see you today." Or something like that. My example there is purely hyperbolic but that trend really distracted me once it emerged.
• The gameplay also evolves to be more railroad-y and focused on just getting to specific sex scenes. Honestly, I get that it's an NTR game that's progressing down its most logical path but I do enjoy playing all the routes. Kind of sad to see the game change away from what it was, and what you'd come to expect, and more towards just a vehicle to move you towards the next sex render.
• The plot devolves a bit and gets less believable and more cruel. I like the cruelty sometimes but Chapter 3 was just a bit too unbelievable at moments.

Overall, there are some beautiful moments and strong CYOA/AVN/gameplay towards the beginning of the novel. There are some interesting characters introduced. These moments are not allowed to build into the game this novel should be, and that was disappointing for me. Maybe the creator(s) will fix those things, or maybe not. I'll keep following it for now.

I started playing this game with great caution because of the low ratings, but I ended up enjoying it so I'll give it 5 stars. The game has a decent amount of content, a sensible story, relationship development, and hot scenes. But I'll also note that the author has some kind of problem with the heroines' faces and their animation. MC's mother and sister have such uninteresting faces that it's boring to romance them, boring to be jealous of them, it's just not interesting to develop a relationship with them, and the facial animation is often completely unnatural.

This game is just boring beyond f*!
It starts with choices all over, looking realy good. Building stats, chosing your route.
And then you get enlisted in college, where things go down quickly.
Now choices are about tests in college only, your mom got a new job and is barely present, your sis has skooldays on her own.
All thats left is your skooldays and how to pass tests, interrupted by a teacher flogging a fellow student in front of everybody.
You can´t excuse this by the VN taking place in Honolulu.
Than there was the first (real) sex scene for the MC after hours of playing and seeing my LIs going out and about without me having any influence at al.. Poor scene, even worse ending.
I (MC) got to pound Maud and creampie her. The Creampie was just one image, badly done. And that´s it.

Apparently there is a bug in the game when even if you pick only dominant options for maximum confidence, at the end of chapter 2 you get cucked by both of the main women (mother and sister are both having sex with that black shithead). You basically are put into cuck route. Fuck this.

Eh, it's one of the few games that after playing it for a couple hours or so, I was genuinely so bored and disinterested. That I actually deleted it entirely from my PC, whereas usually with others I would just leave it for a time, and then come back to try it again later.

But it is just so...Aggressively boring and bland...The plot isn't very interesting, the dialogue sucks, the LI's aren't particulary hot, the MC is meh. And tbh, this game feels like one of those games that even though it tells you "NTR is optional" It desperately WANTS you to play the NTR/Cucking route, and does everything it can to show that off and push you towards it. I mean just look at that token BBC friend you have, that keeps showing up and flirting with every woman in the game (your mother and sister included) even when not on the route...It's kinda fucking annoying ngl...

Maybe playing the game on the cuck path is actually better, and if that's your thing you might enjoy this alot more than me. But getting cucked doesn't really do it for me. And as such, it's staying in the bin

Best NTR story I found in VN so far (Beta route) , the Alpha route is common like other incest VN, if you don't like NTR/cuckold/humilation choose alpha route

The game doesn’t do anything egregiously bad but it doesn’t do anything that good either. The writing is bland and boring, but at least it doesn’t bog you down with needlessly long scenes/dialogue or a plot nobody really cares about. I’d say the writing is good enough if the game did other things well but it just doesn’t. And that’s the problem with this game. If you look at the girls, art, writing, gameplay/mechanics, etc., separately everything is ok, none of them are bad to the point that the game is ruined and you can’t fap to it. But at the same time none of them are so good you want to fap to it. There are games that do some things worse, but they do other things better to make them exciting enough to fap to, this game just does nothing exciting or interesting enough and you just get bored.

That being said I only played it for the incest and skipped everything not related to it. Maybe the other parts of the games are better, but tbh the fact that this game is so heavy into ntr/cuck is a major turnoff even if you can avoid it. If you’re looking at playing this game just for the incest, you’re not missing out on anything by skipping this one.

Was loving the game playing the Alpha route while keeping my mind away from Hurricane Milton here in Florida. Loved the teasing with the Step mom and Step Sister building up to banging them, which I am banging all the girls.

Until something happened. Playing the game for 4 days, all of a sudden I was put into the beta route out of no where. Which I was saying WTF is this shit.


If you like NTR go ahead and play the game. But, if you want to do the Non-NTR or Alpha route don't be surprised when it turns NTR out of nowhere.

I messaged the creator about this today. If I get no response I am deleting this game. I don't know if this is a bug or something. But, another reviewer mentioned the same thing that happened to him.

Story is very bland and boring and it tries to hard to push for the NTR which is just meh.

If you look at choices its also made for those that goes after everyone, when saying no to someone just due to not liking how she acts or looks you get a bunch of minus points, making the hole system idiotic since it removes what game promisses the ability to choose your self, since losing points can effect not having the points you need for others you want to be with.
But what really makes it shitty is turning down some girls will result in you ending up as a beta meaning you get all the NTR and none of the fun with MC, its a really poor way of making the game, either say yes to all and stay alpha or try to be with those you want and only those which is impossiible since it will then put you on beta route....

Animations are poor way below average.

Music is bad and sound effects are crap sorry but they really are.

The grammar and punctuation is so damn bad it's laughable. It's like listening to Mozart on a toy piano played by a 3-year-old. The art and even the story are very good to amazing. I would not recommend this game to anyone if they appreciate a good story. 2 stars for the art alone.

Dialogue is incredibly cringy seriously people who use "alpha" and "beta" male are out of touch. The scenes just feel extremely forced and the animations aren't that great. It just feels like its a game for insecure guys to feel better about themselves instead of something trying to be good.

Good game and tons of replay value content” MC can fuck a bunch of girls pretty quick so its not a slow burn.i wish there was more scenes with tracy. the aunt is also a massive slut! great if you like MILF content.

But the problem is, even if things progress in love route & we finally get to enjoy sexual sessions with all of them, we can't match the level of ntr, because of the bad pacing

renders are good and dialogue and scene setup is good too! The game has great models and great sex scenes. The problems mostly revolve around the MC being a little stupid and saying yes to just about everything.

It's the first game I've ever played on this site, exopsing my cuck fetish, so I like the game very much.
I just wish the narrative would be more open to be a willing cuck, especially with the Mc's girlfriend or another way of beeing able to share his gf's while beeing on alpha route.

Both the NTR and non NTR lead to some really hot sex scenes and for what it tries to be i would gladly give it a 5 stars but there is one big issue.

The triggers are a mess.
First the thing of divinding thing by alpha and beta regarding one choice is very boring, while it gives NTR-haters an easy way out it closes the door for a more organic NTR story.

And i say this because the moment you try to mix and match your actions the game breaks. You will be in the beta route stop Marcus and triggers some of the romantic scenes with the mc family but then out nowhere the game acts as if the "marcus hits you" happened and you get railroad into cuck beach.

This is not good continuity, whatever is in charge of triggering this scenes isnt working properly and thats a shame because there plenty of good here.

edit: After playing it some more i have to lower it to two stars. Im a big NTR far and this one hits the spot for me in that aspect but making sure that the scenes that are triggered are coherent with the rest of the story is the bare minimum that VN should do and this one just fails at it.

Also is worth noting that Marcus has far better scenes than Phillip (with some exceptions) wich is a slap in the face to those that want the "alpha" route. For example

Story: the MC is a horny teenager who, despite what the girls say, can’t qualify as handsome. All he only wants is to bang as many girls as possible, or for his friends to bang them for him if you prefer to play a cuckold. Lucky him! The girls in Honolulu are just horny teens and milfs who don’t have time for romance, so let's go!

That’s it, that’s the story, after almost 6 years of development, this VN is at the beginning of chapter 3 only, with still no story to tell and still nothing attractive to see because, let’s be honest, the renders are still 2018, old and lame. The girls are all rather insipid, not as eye-catching as the ones you see in modern Ren’Py VNs.

NTR is optional, but you can clearly see that the developer has a hard time defining the line between what belongs to the NTR fetish and what does not, and sometimes the line is crossed due to a lack of heavy-testing and proof-reading. Clearly, if you hate even a glimpse of NTR, do not even download this game.

Im going to give it 2 star.. even if the beginning is actually pretty decent. After the big house party, not sure what version that is, (right before the triss reveal) the writing... get... horrible. no punctuation, not great English. It's almost like a new writer took over and ruined everything.

The game is bugged. While playing on Alpha route (vanilla) you get NTRed in a very bad way just out of a blue, you don't expect it at all.

I get it that bugs are common issue in games, but man, it's kinda sensitive issue, at least for those who don't like to be cucked, and of course immersion is broken immediately, and it happens not even once during the game.
It is not always NTR scenes but also dialogues when some scenes are mentioned but they never occurred on alpha path.

So, maybe, if you are making a game with separate paths for entirely different audiences, would it be a good idea at very least to go through each path and test before releasing it, what do you think?
I guess the thing is that Dev doen't really care, maybe it's different with beta (NTR) path, I can't say cause never played it or maybe he is just trolling vanilla players for some reason, dunno...

So the game has both the harem and cuckold or ntr paths. The design works fine when you take care of both paths without neglecting either or with updates and development time spent obscenely on one of the path, which gives the impression that the path choice system is barely there at all. In this case, the content so far after 5 years of development is overwhelmingly biased towards the Beta NTR path, which frustrates those who follow the Alpha path. It makes no sense to make the LIs appear to be nuns or innocents, playing hard to get for the MC and act as cock hungry whores who give in to the first man making his advance other than the MC. When you have two paths to choose from for following, focusing on one and ignoring the other is betraying the essence upon which the game is built.

Interesting game, graphics could be improved but overall a good game to pass time. Characters are nice. Every game has its pros and cons but this one is truly well balanced. Just try it and find out for yourself !
