I think two of these can be true:
1. The premise and direction of the game aswell as the art is beautiful
2. The dev has consistently failed deadlines that he promised without prior notice and keeps ghosting his supporters

The game itself is way too good to just give up for me, but even I as a big fan of the game have to admit that what the dev is doing is really bad. It really doesn't take a whole lot of courage or time to just quickly log in and say "hey sorry the demo is delayed by a few days" instead of ghosting his fanbase.

I cannot tell how much he will add in 0.6 (if it ever comes out) but 0.7.1 would probably not contain anything groundbreaking. We just came out of a climax point in the story so to speak with the bathing scene so I would assume it would start with some story setup and perhaps in later updates we'd get the start of an intimate relationship without her resisting as much? Hard to tell atp.

Thorns has better pacing, regardless of if Forest could potentially maybe be the better end product. We can speculate about a theoretical superior game all day, I look at the present results and Thorns has more to offer, the relationship progressed and developed, while Forest keeps stepping at the start line with barely progressing.

Give it a week or two and we'll see the update. Scene replay is really a bitch to implement in Ren'py as the engine was never made for it so honestly the developer should drop this feature if it's too hard to implement and maintain, there is a reason why almost no Ren'py engine game bothers with it.

Also just a protip for people from now on, disregard whatever promises the developer makes. There will be one update a month from now on. (Which I've said last month as well)

If I remember, Boy Hero Ken was never truly finished, the Dev just disappeared. It has an 'ending' but from what I remember there were much more content planned but sadly we never come to see it.
