I wouldn't say the cash is stolen if people willingly chose to keep subscribing. I would say it was stolen if he would've kept leading people on with the promise of an update only to rug pull and cancel the project.Bro didn't even apologize for all the stolen cash, ppl kept paying for weeks and weeks lmao
It works fine on the latest Ren'Py 8.4.1JJoiplay is not working, i need android version please
He was going to do that, he did it before and he was going to do it again while cashing out a few hundreds every month until he starts his next scam, only reason he came back is because cfqr could steal his supporters away.I wouldn't say the cash is stolen if people willingly chose to keep subscribing. I’ve been saying this since the first time he went silent and stopped updating people: vote with your wallet.I do have to say, it does leave this whole thing in a sour position because while I am glad his family is in a okay position now where he can start focusing on CFQ, him not apologizing or updating his patreons for a hiatus is very scummy, people kept supporting the months the dev was gone and the guy couldn't even apologize or be transparent with his supporters... the only thing that scares me is that he has done this in the past with a certain goblin game and those people were just left in the dust. I don't wanna be that guy but it is TOO convenient a remake gets made and announced and he is back immediately like nothing happened... it is very fishy is all I can say...
He got scared because there was someone making a remake, honestly, I won't believe any words coming out of his/her mouth. Take this update as a grain of salt.NGL I really expected him to never come back, so kudos to him. He never apologized for ghosting tho lol
Very true and agree with you for the most part. But I do not recall ever calling this guy my friend. As a developer when asking for support from your community, it is always the responsibility to inform your patrons about any development on the project. While this is a monetary value from a profit perspective, if you want to keep that cash flowing in, you want to deliver a good product and have good standing with your own community to ensure a good balance, this is basic stuff man. I love the art and the direction this project could go in, but this dev has genuine people who want to support. The dev not being able to do standard announcements about the project or any news regarding a hiatus is definitely on him, it doesn't just boil down to "just don't pay for it".I’ve been saying this since the first time he went silent and stopped updating people: vote with your wallet.
I cancelled my sub every time because I already knew he had a habit of disappearing or posting tiny updates. His work is great, I’ll play it, and if I get impatient I might sub again. But whether someone keeps paying during months of silence is on them, not him.
He’s not your friend and he isn’t responsible for how you spend your money. The perk of subscribing is early access. If you’re not getting what you want out of it, just cancel. You can always resub once an update actually drops.
This dev has never been good at communicating, so I don’t understand why people keep paying and expect that to suddenly change. If you don’t like the level of consistency and transparency, don’t pay for it.
My faith in his ability to make a good game is high. My faith in his communication and reliability is very low. So the smartest approach is simple: don’t subscribe until you see consistent updates, unless you personally feel it’s worth it.
I understand your point. In a perfect situation, a dev who takes money should communicate and keep their community informed. I agree with that.Very true and agree with you for the most part.
