Cyanotype daydream is top tier VN, but it's held back by a couple of problems, that are preventing it from achieving masterpiece status. Even with that in mind, there is a particular case ("chapter") that I would score as the proverbial 11/10, and seems like a must read for any VN enthusiast.

    Positive:
    - Case 1 is amazing, one of the best things I have ever read in a VN.
    - The 4 heroines are really good, likability and investment are very high.
    - The OST is one of the best ever in a VN, and the voice acting is great too (guess how many people are voicing the 4 main heroines).
    - The VN has some very nice art, and all the advantages of being "recent" (2020).
    - Stories that interconnect, lots of interesting themes, and diversity (4 cases with different settings) if you are in the mood to think about "stuff".

    Negative:
    - The ending feels rushed , and leaves a "bad taste" in what would otherwise be a stellar experience (it's a 9 because of this). There are 4 cases in Cyanotype, and they vary significantly when it comes to narrative appeal. It's the same writer, but doesn't feel like a unified experience in terms of quality.

Score: Cyanotype Daydream is a 9/10, but it's not that far from "best ever tier". This a VN that can appeal to both your emotional, and intellectual sides, and does so in very balanced way, creating a great reading experience. The ending ruined it though, and that memory is not going away any time soon.

(This is not something you should read for the 18+ content, it's weak).

Let me tell you of the story of the girl who dreamed the world...

First and foremost, don't get into this VN if you're looking for porn. Second, don't get into this VN if you're expecting a nice romcom or dating sim with lots of choices.

Instead, read this if you're looking for a good tragedy. Or four good tragedies, because that's what Cyanotype Daydream is. Tragedies. From the unfortunate tale of Shakespeare and his love, the youthful journey of a boy and his teacher, and a forbidden relationship between a washed-up author and his student, Cyanotype Daydream tells many stories without happy endings all to parallel it's true main tragedy.

The story of a world living on a lie.

The story of a man who wanted to save others.

And the story of a girl who dreamed the world.
