VN - Others - Completed - Dating Amy [Final] [GDS]

Alright, so this game really reminded me of something like Sexbot. They both have a pretty thin plot and that whole loop of replaying over and over just to unlock all the scenes. But in Sexbot, at least that made sense because of the whole time machine setup, sending the MC back to the start. Here, though, the devs just went with a basic New Game+. Feels like a pretty lazy solution, to be honest.
Usually, you replay VN (and I'd say this is one), to see different story branches. The key word there is story. But here? There basically isn't one. We've got this guy Travis whose whole purpose is to sleep with every girl around, sometimes dragging his new buddy from the beginning into it. There are no real events, no actual characters to speak of. So, keeping up with the "story" gets boring fast, and you end up just skipping the text.
The gameplay for a VN wasn't bad, though. Not perfect, but that little stat-check system based on your answers was more interesting than just picking choices at a branch.
The only thing that was genuinely decent was the music. It's chill, not too in-your-face, and mostly fits what's on screen. The carefree vibe kinda reminded me of the tracks from Being A DIK, though it's not on that level.

As for the adult content, it's alright. The dev is clearly going for that teen/loli style. The animations are a bit janky in places, but they get the job done. There are some NTR routes too, but they're pretty weak. Since there's no story or characters to get invested in, there's no emotional punch. For NTR to work, you need to feel the characters' guilt, confusion, hesitation—all that good stuff. You won't find any of that here.

The bottom line: if you're specifically into the teen/loli thing, you might get an evening's worth of entertainment out of this. It's a one-and-done kind of game. But if the idea of grinding through a mediocre plot loop doesn't sound fun, you can safely skip it.

This game lacks basic features that enhance the player experience. There is no options menu to adjust preferences, saving the game is not allowed, there is no scene gallery, and rollback is disabled. Even if the renders are decent, all these limitations make the gameplay feel restrictive and frustrating. The lack of control over progress and the absence of essential features significantly reduce the enjoyment of the game. In its current state, it is hard to recommend, as it does not provide a comfortable or satisfying experience.

Probably the one I had the most fun with.
The Chloe games have lots of potential, but there are many set backs that make them pretty hard to go through, but this one, way shorter, allows you to have a lot of fun and a perfect run with the humor + lewd.

Fake Family was pretty great too, I hope to see more of GDS

Let me start the review by saying it'll be more focused on the technical aspects of the game and the quality of the sex scenes! I can't really give a solid review on the story because after some time playing, I gave up and used a "gallery unlock" save to watch the scenes. However, I did play the story for about 1 hour, and by later reading the dialogues in the sex scenes available in the Scene Replay mode, I could also get a decent grasp of the story. That said, the reasons for me "dropping" the game will be detailed in the review.

* First, maybe because I'm feeling a bit guilty of my review score, a shoutout to the Intro/Main Menu of the game. You can tell that the author had put some effort in the main menu, with all the scenes passing/teasing in the background of the screen. And it really turned out very good!

* Now, the UI and Gameplay. My main reason to drop the story and go for the unlocked Scene Replay mode:

-The floating dialogues are awful, imo. Instead of the classic dialogue box in the button of the screen, the author went for dialogues popping all over the place around the characters. Because of the poor choice of font and font-outline colors, it turned out pretty annoying to read and quite a pain for the eyes. Maybe "chat bubbles" would look a bit better.

-Are you like the majority of VN players, who enjoy saving the game every time you make a decision, so you can load and check the scenes for the other dialogue/actions?... Well, forget it. There's no instant Save and no Load buttons to save/load the game at all times, only in the beginning (or ending, idk) of the day. To make it worse, there's just 3 save slots.

-There's a lack of basic game options, like: no Volume slider, no back/history Chat Log, no "Next" keyboard shortcut option, no Font type options...

-I couldn't play some scenes in the Scene Replay gallery because they crashed the game, even after trying to play them again.

* Sex scenes, Renders and Animations:

- The models are pretty good, but some renders/scenes feel more artificial than they should because there's too much lightning in the scene, making the renders and the background very bright and unnatural.

- In the animations' aspect, things fall apart quite a lot. In some scenes they're quite decent, but in scenes with angles showing the genitalia, the physical interactions of the penetration are very bad and kinda ruin the animations. Especially in the anal scenes, they feel very unrealistic.

- The sound effects of the sex scenes are very basic and sometimes a bit out of sync with the animations. I also didn't like the camera movement loop that some animations have.

* Story and Characters:

- As I mentioned before, I didn't fully play the story to the end, so you can read this part of the review with a grain of salt. I'm also not a huge fan of games with "Teen x Teen" relationships, so there's also some personal taste involved.

- Overall, I was not enjoying the story and the characters behaviors. Even if you consider they are supposed to be teenagers (at least they talk and look like teenagers... of legal age *cough cough*), they still act too childish, imo. Even the character that is supposed to be 30 years old, acts quite immaturely. But if you're a fan of "tsundere" characters and such behaviors, you may enjoy the story way more than I did.

- There's also some swinging/sharing involved in the story and sex scenes (avoidable afaik), but I'm not a fan of this genre.

TL;DR: Lots of technical problems and underwhelming sex scenes.

I like this one, story is good and fun, it feels almost like a sandbox game even though its mostly not, you could think of it as a pure VN with freeroam a few times, its well made and the stats you gain matters alot, quite a few girls as well and cant say i got to see them all since it does get boring to sit and skip text none stop to try to get everything right, so i gave up on stuff like harem ending, mostly since i was more the happy with the double sister ending.

Its not that long a story but its pretty fun and well written, what makes it long is due to having to replay it from start a few times to get enough stats from the start to move things along.

Well loved the girls, even MCs "fake" sister even though she might not be the most pretty of the bunch, theres not much diversity in builds its mostly aimed for loli/smols lovers so perfect for me.

Renders are high quality as well so theres well not much bad to say about this game.

They are really well made and theres quite a few of them, the only issue i saw was a very poor virgin scene where theres 0 blood, 0 pain and MC fucks her like a 2$ hooker, so for virgin/deflower fans this is not one for you.

Choices matters alot for the hole story and theres plenty of possible fails aka bad endings, but thats also for once part of the fun unlike so many other games, you can also stop a scene before doing anal if you dont like that part.

Honestly really liked it it had everything that I wanted it's straight vn so not grindy whatsoever and hence no blueball and easy to avoid ntr is what I like
But I have so say it was pretty short
The length could have been bigger
And more scenes would have been great Like why are there only 4-5 scenes with a character (NTR scenes included)
Also it was confusing at some times

Ok, it's a little funny game. Models are not perfect but they are cute. Obviously it's meant to be ironic, fun and allover the place and it mostly succedes in the task. It sure succedes being entertaining.
A little plus, the music selection works very well.
Overall it's a game i recommend playing.
I didn't give 5 star because it doesn't even remotely have the effort big titles require but it's still a good game. No real downside.

Scenes are good, nice character design (I'd totally simp my ass out for Amy and Kaoru) and the gameplay is pretty straightforward, goofy dialogs and some very funny Easter eggs, the only bad thing about this game is that it actually ends.

I've been a fan of GDS for years, and he seems to be improving with each game. this is one of the best -- simple, full of choices, and good scenes. you can unlock everything pretty easily with a couple playthroughs

Light-hearted, funny, and fast-paced.

Pros:
-Everything related to visuals.
-Music.
-Flow, and tempo. Fast-paced. No drugging around.
-Dialogues are not the best, but pretty good for the chosen light-hearted comedy genre.
-Sex scenes are hot. Kinks are mildly diverse.

Cons:
-UI.
A hint for possible future authors: just make it in the damn ren'py. Or at least copy the functionality.

-Choices.
Not the worst, but pretty close to the bottom, yeah. One good thing is that it's such a quick game. But it's also not the first such nonsense from the author.
I should reiterate: the problem is not the system, but the choices themselves - and their outcomes.
1st: they need to be predictable.
2nd: they need to enhance the characters. Your choices - MC's. Consequences - other characters.

Overall:
Great game for the genre - that can be improved.

Really enjoyed this one, the writing, jokes, music - all greatly improved since I last checked this developer's work. The renders are high quality, expressions and movement of the characters feel much more natural than in the previous GDS games.

One thing I would improve is the save/load system or at least make any day replayable with set stats.

This should be a comic VN with absurd dialogue that tries to remain light and funny.

Pros:

• The animations are nice
• The models look ok

Cons:

• the dialogue sometimes is just incoherent and all over the place. The text also pops every where and sometimes in a weird manner which I'm not a fan of. I personally didn't find the game that funny but to each his own taste and you may try and like it.
• The UI in the game is very unfriendly imo. I had to close the game and open it again because I wanted to reverse my choice. The game doesn't let you to open any menu after you started playing, so you stuck until the next ingame day which is very annoying and I can't find the reason for this... I assume it some limitation on the development side.

I like the theme and tags, but to play in practice, this game is horrible. No saves between, before you can choose a decision. No gallery, no replay. No hints what you missed (f.e. what was the deal with Kaore?).

Two stars for the music, which is actually decent in this.
The poor rating is for a number of things.

• I find the interface of the game to be awkward. Not allowing saves early in the game, while choices are being made, forcing me to reload the game multiple times really was really annoying. The game also crashed a lot for me with a pop-up message.
• Only three save slots is also very frustrating. I get that some people play that way, where they do a play-through in each save slot, but not everyone does that.
• The characters don't really feel like people to me, they seem like simple reasons to show scenes of sex.
• The choices we make don't effect the characters in a believable way. For example, if I choose to smack the but of Amy, her sister probably should feel some sort of emotion, or have a reaction. Especially when you understand that the MC and Amy's sis were supposed to have come to some sort of arrangement previously.
• The renders don't have enough sub-renders where we see smaller movements and emotions of the characters.

Being a member of F95Zone you will realize that there are many devs that try to make choice style games and most do a horrible job at it, the games are usually riddled with bugs or the worst somehow the dev manages to make the game so random that you need a hint chart just to know what to do next.

This game does choices the right way with 3 elements that can change the outcome, (Romance, Chad and Smart Ass),, depending on their points you get options available to you. This means you get multiple playthroughs. The renders are decent and the animations are short but fluid and detailed. The game also keeps track of your progress, meaning after unlocking a scene the game will register it with a description, anything not discovered yet is noted with question marks.

Now the cons, the biggest issue with this game is that it's not polished. There are saves but you can only save after the day is done, so if you reload you load to that specific day, the problem with that is the game has no replay system so if you want to watcha a scene again you have to go through the game to do so which becomes tedious because you have to remember what choice to make..etc.. and if you missclick, too bad because unlike Renpy there is no backwards option. And finally the game lacks depth, meaning the dialogue is only meant to lead you to a sexual situation, another thing is the characters are a bit too smallish for my taste so I just played the game to pass time rather than anything, too bad the mom is not involved in this first part.

All in all I give it a 4 because I had fun playing through it and finding the extra scenes and there's a lot of potential of improving the gameplay in the next version.

The renders and gameplay mechanics are good. The story is gross. You're playing an alpha asshole who thinks cheating on girls is funny. Girls don't have emotions in this universe, they're just pretending because all they want is sex with an alpha. You also have to befriend another asshole involuntarily and you'll have to decide who he get's to fuck. Sharing is caring, bros before hos, and all that. This makes the MC completely unlikeable and the girls unauthentic and artificial, like dolls.

I liked this game a lot. Scenes are excellent, and so are jokes (some people dont like them, but i find them funny). This is a short game, but not every one needs to be 40+ hours long. The only complain that i have, it listed completed because its clerely needs a second part.

Wrote a larger review then forgot this site has that thing where you click off and it vanishes... so just making this shorter and messier.

Keep in mind this a part 1 of season 1 and not a season 1 something I did not know.

Maker loves making saves only at end of day for whatever reason and might add basic options in future.

Too short and unfinished with unknown if will be, not enough animation or even fitting animation too what is said (ie O yes go faster animation does not speed up), and nothing special in other ways too make you "miss out" not experiencing this.

Nothing special very average with focus of -> Bad Humor > Porn > Game > > Characters > Story.
This especially true in 2nd half of this short where it expects you to have played and remembered other titles
(Really Really should least just add a "flashback" that would add very quick and easy more sex + time to this and be QoL instead of goo play my other stuff).
And as many point out and why I put it first this is filled with pointless weak humor from over the top in story - dad talks - trolling a blue haired girl on not twitter if all was cut out besides losing 50% of the content you would really not lose out of anything else other then maybe a couple bro moments (I am pretty sure creator known for doing this like saves, but don't see why again unless he plans too try and become a stand up comic or something).

2 Tsunderes and they made well enough even if basic they got a hint of the easy charm Tsundere's bring along with the other cast being typical enough porn gals (wish amy was slightly more reserved and had more to her but she a porn girl and that how they made for whatever reason).

The visuals are pretty good, there is random background music, moans, decent amount of different images and the like (not just reusing 3 stills or anything like that) and no complaints in any of these.

I can't understand the negative ratings. Dating Amy is funny. You have to balance different factors to get two girls in one play-through. I enjoyed it and found it an ideal dating game. "Forced" jokes? Really? In a porn game? For free? When these critics produce a game, I will be very impressed.
