[Daz] G8F/M genitalia vs Dicktator/Golden Palace vs New Gens for Victoria vs XY/XXY?

Being a noob I've only now discovered that the "official" G8F/M also have morphs/poses, much like Dicktator/Golden Palace. Then there's New Gens for Victoria, and XY/XXY which are like completely different things with their own ecosystem of poses and textures and stuff.

Which one do you recommend focusing on? Do you use only one or all of them based on needs? Seems Dicktator/Golden Palace have the most alternatives, but XY/XXY and G8M gens seem to look more realistic than Dicktator, or maybe that's just a shape thing?

All said and done, you should set some time aside and play with them all. Feel each of them out, play around with the sliders, and try to get different looks with each one. See which one(s) flow best for you, then decide from there.

Speaking purely from personal experience, they all do different things well. Starting with Golden Palace, this one became my least favorite(?) pretty quickly. Getting it on (especially with other shells) can be a hassle, and when you do, you're met with a plethora of sliders that do a bunch of little things are aren't exactly labeled clearly. So, with it, you get a convoluted list of sliders and, in my opinion, the least realistic of the female genital options out there. There's no reason that all of Meipe's gens/shells shouldn't all be working together without going through a bunch of hoops for it. Dicktator with Pumping Pole gives a really nice effect, better than the other limited options out there for male gens. The Official gens are nice, but Dicktator is just the best happy medium between quality and customization while retaining some level of realism, imo.

For female gens, NGV7/V8 has the best realism of any of the female gens, but it comes at the cost of most of them looking the same-ish. It's what I use, but there's nothing wrong with using any or all of them. They all have their own quirks and frustrations, just as they all do something better than the other.

Thanks for the answer! I've been playing with all of them for about a week and honestly that's what lead me down to ask this question, because I wasn't sure if some things feel a bit convoluted or weird because they are, or because I'm a noob. For example combining Breastacular with Golden Palace/Futalicious seems quite difficult for me, even moreso if I don't just start with a G8F but something else.

One thing I've been finding somewhat frustrating with G8F/M gens is that unless the character itself has materials for the genitals I can't really use them? Like say if I have a random HD character that has its own skin and I load G8F gens, I might not have a "G8F gens material" that came with the character, while NGV8/Golden Palace would seemingly copy the material somehow?

The Official gens are nice, but Dicktator is just the best happy medium between quality and customization while retaining some level of realism, imo.

How do you think Dicktator compares to XY? I feel like I should really like XY because imo the materials look more realistic, but sometimes it seems to behave a little weird.

That's one the biggest fault with a lot of Meipe's stuff, in my opinion. There's so many sliders, presets, and buttons that it just manages to convolute itself pretty quickly. Dicktator is a bit better about it than Golden Palace, though. Interactions between his asset's shells are pretty bad, but I've always felt that was more on Daz than the creator himself.

Yeah, the Daz Store tends to lock the gens behind pro bundles (e.g Michael 8 Pro Bundle). Which is dumb (like a good number of other things they choose to do.), because they look good and would be a valid alternative to the others out there, especially since they came with the figure they would be made with. But despite a lot of Daz assets being used for porn (they are fully aware, I'd think.), they don't view themselves as an 'adult content'/porn website. Which is what I assume the reasoning for that is, that and to make people spend a bit more.

I'm not sure if NGV7/V8 do it the same way, but I believe Dicktator just copies a portion of the chest map of that character (unless the user chooses one of the default skins that come with it, iirc.), then you can edit the minora/anus color with NGV7/V8 as needed. The ZExpansion morph sets by Zev0 help a ton with shaping and spreading/opening for renders with penetration.

I didn't really comment on this because I don't have any experience with them outside of their strap-on/dildo assets. They look pretty realistic, short of the wet shell that comes included (looks too wet.). The conforming cum is a pretty sweet touch, too. But that's all I can really say about on the surface.

I thought daz started to make the native Gens hard to get when the Genesis line first started(when male and female where the same model with sliders to change them) because Genesis could be made into a child.

Though, I'm sure there's some truth to the child aspect, as well. It probably just isn't one thing, either. It's probably a mix of making more money by locking gens behind $100+ bundles, child-like characters acting within adult scenarios (3DCG kiddy porn, more or less.), and Daz themselves appealing to the non-adult crowd.

Personally speaking, I've never actually used the native/default gens from Daz. So, I'm probably not super qualified to answer, but I think context and what you're looking to achieve with said gens is important.

Are you looking for customization? Golden Palace. Realism? NGV8. Now, that being said, the fact that the gens for some figures are native (Meaning made for only the said figure, I believe that's how the native gens work. Could certainly be wrong. As I said, I've never used them.) likely means the skins and tones of the skin are going to more closely match the figure they belong to - or so I'd assume. Some just might use them for diversity in genitals that appear throughout VN, some may not know better (unlikely, but I suppose there may be some.), some may prefer them when available. Or as you said, the may prefer something compared to one of the alternatives. Such as a slider, setting, etc.

- XY works with base figure. It does not accept morphs in hip area. Characters which are different then base male causes terrible deformation of testicles.
- Dicktator does not "like" morphs in stomach-pelvic area. "Flacid" poses create weird deformation, but in base or erection poses works prety well. Moreover it has base torso and genital UVs.
- Basic male genitalia are most morphing resistant. With good texture looks more realistic then rest of character.
- Golden Palace looks very good but it has weird bend deformation. I found it pretty useless, because works well only if main character have her legs straight. Bending/spreading legs deforms not only mesh but texture as well.
- Basic genitalia are better but minor bending deformations are visible.
- Sledge Hammer genitalia looks ok with most poses, but it does not lokks realistic. Moreover texturing is difficult.
- NGV8 are the best. Posing do not deform it, looks realistic and adjusting texture to any character is very easy. It has only one disadvantage - anus is in wrong place, should be moved back.
