DAZ geometry - how to unconfuse x-y-z transitions ?

Some of the props I load into a DAZ 3D scene appear away from the normal xyz geometry. In some cases the xyz transition controls even behave as rotations and the scaling controls also rotate the objects.

It makes it virtually impossible to position these objects. Am I missing something ??

Thanks in advance.

Thanks, but what if I want to move the prop relative to everything else (which I usually do) ?

And I'm not sure I understand what you mean LOL.

Do you mean I should create a (pseudo) group with just one prop in it, and move that ?

Yes, create a new group, should be positioned 0,0,0 xyz by default.
Load your problematic prop on to that group, and use translation/rotation of the group (not the prop).
It's generally faster that way than correct the prop (select Joint editor then correct xyz values in tool setting) .
