"A valid PostgreSQL CMS connection could not be established", that's the message I keep getting whenever I launch Daz Studio.

Edit : I fixed it by changing my Cluster Directory in : Edit > Preferences > CMS Settings.
I'll just leave the thread in case it helps somebody out.

How does it help or hurt that a valid PostgreSQL CMS connection could not be established? does it affect something that does not connect to CMS PostgreSQL?

Daz Studio uses a bundled PostgreSQL database as its "Content Management System" (CMS). Essentially, if DS can't get the database up and running, you lose the "Smart Content" feature, since the database is where it stores the association between products and character types. (e.g. how it "knows" that "outfit x" goes with a G8F and not a G3F)

Also, if you create your own product categories, that information is stored in the CMS as well.

The manual "Content" tab, which just uses your machine's directory structure, isn't affected by the CMS.

Which directory did you move to?
I've tried doing it and it still doesn't work.

Just fixed this after a munted reinstall of my files due to slowdown

Deleting everything in the above /appdata folder also fixes it, basically removing what is already there and allowing daz/cms to regenerate the files fresh.
