I like to think that this is exactly the way to go about. I see a parallel here with roguelikes in the way of it being very sandboxy in nature, even the common starts. To change it would mean putting the player in tracks and would be as un-fun as the ID issue.

I've tried to play this but even with sandbox cheats you need a "how to" guide to do anything as almost eveything is behind some quest line and even if you have the more non-normal fetishes on max, you wont do them or get them done to you unless your in one of those quest's or it's unlocked after it.
Just wished that to do something other than walk round the place didn't require to brake into fort knox or hand your self in or something along those lines.

Agreed. Hell, I'm still trying to figure out where I can change clothing since I don't recall every being unable to and now any option to do so is greyed out.

Your bedroom, any shop where you can buy clothes, gym, bathroom at the bar... you can also change clothes in the house of your sexual partner if you manage to rest there..
playing other text based games after degrees of lewdity is painful.
the ui in this leaves a lot to be desired and feels very poor to play in comparison. the navigation around town is confusing at best. the popups for things are small and stack to ludicrous degree and disappear quick. interactions don't feel like they have depth yet there's a lot to click on. looking at people's stats sucks. changing clothes sucks. switching tabs all the time sucks. idk what to say it's a chore to play
game's first version released in mid 2023 there's no way it's been like this the whole time. $5/mo patreon is $4/mo too much compared not just to DoL but other genre games too

Really? I find DoL's navigation/map a lot more confusing than DG. Trying to go to a specific place often takes me like 20 tries, while in DG, I might go down a wrong street but it never takes too long to get to where I wanna go.
I am struggling to understand the pangolin job. How exactly are you supposed to do the JOB? You get a gown and then....??? Nothing comes up. Sorry if im sounding salty but there is no clear direction AT all

That is just an incipit, sure you can repeat the job, but will lower your status in Pharma..
To get the quest for the Equiknot sample you just need enough trust with Rebecca/Reban, easier and faster way is just speak to them, no need at all accept their proposal..

Lower your anxiety will prevent panic, has been added in 5.8 so could need perhaps some tweaks..
Lots of males and females NPC can be very aggressive in the game, so it depends on RNG, or you can use options to make them all females or all males.

If i am not wrong, your PC start in this game world without memories and alone, so my guess is that you have find your mom/sister/father/brother or what ever family member first?

im trapped in the slums hostel. i went upstairs got kidnapped escaped and only had the option to click on another room but when i do i get kidapped... also ive raised my escape skill quite a bit now but it still hasnt affected my escape chance

Could be your anxiety or bondage stuffs lowering escape skill, you can check debuffs active in description tab..
There're some floors with rooms, to escape you need to go down to the lobby
