took me a while to get into this one, but once i figured out how stuff works it kinda clicked. there's a lot of depth here, even if the pacing feels slow at first. definitely not a game for people who want instant payoff, it's more about slowly getting dragged into the situations you want to. like the option to have cheats

10/10, this is easily one of the best games on the site. I know it's not something the dev will ever see or care about but I'm gonna ramble a bit on what I think would really make this game truly sublime.

tl;dr The game has a ton of content catering heavily to lots of fetishes with creative and interesting scenarios. There's a lot of love interests to get to know, the descriptive writing is great and there's an active modding community to enhance the artwork and animation to something a bit hotter if that's a gripe.

I see why others call it a victim simulator. No matter how you build your character, in every sex scene, consensual or not your character will always be the sub. The game does not give you the choice to control the flow in consensual sex either. There's no use trying to play dominant in this game , your mc will get harassed/assaulted and all you can do is basically push and run.

I've maybe put 30ish hours into this game. I've started over maybe six times. The amount of customization and player agency in this game is fantastic, and the transformations and kinks like pregnancy are really done right, and I don't dislike the artwork.

My only issue with the game is I physically don't know how to interact with this "victim simulator" of a game. Combat starts and you basically have to sit there and wait for the NPC rng to do anything to your character, it's very tedious and annoying if you're trying to get your rocks off.

Not to mention there is a CORRECT way to approach events, and often if you don't follow specific paths to the letter, you will miss out on a lot of content. Unfortunately, yes, this is a game you'll probably need to reference a walkthrough for often.

As a final sidenote, if you're interested in the transformation and pregnancy mechanics like I was, transformation as far as I can see is tied to quests, it's not necessarily a mechanic in the game.

Pregnancy is a mechanic but only for your character. And getting other characters to actually finish in you is up to rng, since you have no say in what happens to you (mostly).

It's a three for me, four if you're into victim play. Exclusively victim play.

I used to love this game... the challenge and charm, it was dark but also nice...

Now, two years after, is mostly dark and like drowning, this review doesn't come from a place of hate, but one of sadness... one of my favorite games became mostly violence and weirdness...

I miss the amazing struggling world with dark tones full of good people who made me feel like home... now, nothing is sacred or safe...

Probably the best HTML game I ever played (feel free to recommend me games like these)

Love the character customization and the idea. The Story is mid, but the unexpected interaction with the character surrounding makes it good.

Let me keep this simple and unbiased. Degrees of Lewdity is not a porn game. It's a victim simulator.

It managed to establish a vibe for itself: "You are a weak boy/girl who just reached the legal age requirement to get molested in a RapeVille, and you wished you hadn't." Usually, I wouldn't bother with games that makes you the victim, but with the way "Degrees of Lewdity" handling the story, it actually managed to pull me in.

Even if you max out all of your physical stats, let me warn you. You will still ended up getting raped. Not because there's some unavoidable encounter that will fuck you up (literally), but because you forgot that the bus is unsafe in the night and ended up getting gang raped by 6 adult people. You can't even fight back, because.... You know, 6 people?

Anyway, there's enough event in the game that wouldn't make you get bored when playing the game (at least for a while), and some of the romances is actually pretty good. Also the fact that you have to pay your debt every week to your caretaker reminds me of Harvest Moon: Back To Nature, which really gave me the nostalgia for the past (not that it's really relevant to my review, but eh).

    Minus part of the game?:
-The failstate can be demoralizing and really hard to get out off, to the point of starting a new game is recommended (not really a minus for me, but just a warning)
    - Money making is really hard in the early, and even extend to late game.
    - Not enough consensual scene (which is fine, considering the theme. But more couldn't hurt)
    - You're always the sub in every scenario.
    - The actual sex scenes is....... Not very good, to be honest (at least, not good enough to fit into "beat my meat to" category)

    In conclusion:
    Story? 10/10
    Gameplay loop? 8/10
The actual porn? 5/10 (and I'm being generous)

Okay, so I thought Degrees of Lewdity was gonna be one of those messy, try-hard text games you close after 15 minutes… but nope. This is one of those weird little games that sneaks up on you and then eats your whole weekend. I went in expecting cheap shock value and shallow smut, came out impressed at how much actual game is hiding under all the filth.

Mechanically, it’s way deeper than it looks. You’re an 18-year-old in a messed-up town trying to scrape together rent, and there are a lot of ways to do it, legit jobs, shady side hustles, or… much darker stuff. Stats matter, outfits matter, even your demeanor matters. That “gentle” face you start with? You can swap it for something sly, aloof, catty, whatever, and NPCs will treat you differently. There’s crafting-ish stuff (about 80 recipes), a tactical encounter system, transformation options, achievement currency for replays, and little touches like the mirror UI, school mechanics tied to your skills, and the new canvas combat renderer. It’s all way more interconnected than you’d expect from a porn game.

What really got me is how much freedom you have. You can play sweet and innocent, fight off every creep in town, or slowly let the place corrupt you. And it’s not just random spam, the world actually reacts to what you do. Your stats, choices, and relationships stick, and over time the tone of your run can shift completely.

It’s also dangerously addictive. One minute you’re fighting off something you really didn’t want to deal with (dogs, demons, or your math teacher being wildly inappropriate), and the next you’re just chilling in the school kitchen because you learned a new recipe in housekeeping.

The writing’s sharp, grimly funny in places, and the world is gross but consistent. It’s intentionally nasty, but there’s always some new branching hook to pull you forward. The mod scene and active dev/community keep it growing, so there’s already dozens of hours of content if you like digging into systems.

Real talk though, this game leans very dark. A lot of encounters aren’t sunshine and roses, and a huge chunk is non-consensual or otherwise extreme. Not for everyone. But the game gives you toggles for a bunch of fetishes, so you can push as far as you’re comfortable. There are still some clunky UI bits and grindy/broken events here and there (HTML/Twine quirks), but the core loop is so engaging I stopped caring.

If you like sandbox sims with real mechanical depth, massive customization, and a filthy, unapologetic world, this is a guilty-pleasure masterpiece. If you hate bleak or extreme themes, hard pass. If you’re cool with them? Yeah… you might be here a while.

Not as much sandbox as people describes.
If you do what you want you can easily end up in asylum and some other imprisoning dead ends.
To prevent it no reliable way to keep trauma ok in sub routes due randomness. Forum answers doesn't help as they follow some normie walkthroughs.
Requires dozens of hours to regrind/build skills/progressing areas in "one right order" to avoid dead ends.

Great teaser but nothing new if i strive to the core.

Too time consuming. If the separate storylines would be different VNs could be much more substantial without so much routines

Miracle that you can explore something big. But it either dull either you end up in some dead end cause you went there not at right point of stat building

This is nearly perfect, I just want more of what this game offers. I think the game is lacking in dominance part. It's pretty much random encounters where something wants to fuck you, not that you can go around and fuck others.

DoL is a masterpice. You can play pretty much how you want. You can be a forever virgin, milk yourself to get money, beat up rapists, get raped, get impregnated or impregante someone and a lot more. There are a lot of achievements you can get. Each achievement gives you coins which you can use to buff yourself in your next playthrough. This is one of my most played games of all time including non-h games. 10/10 peak pls keep updating forever

It's not for everyone, but it's one of, if not the best porn text game available. And the only reason I'm hesitating is because it's not yet complete. It has some of the best dialogue. A lot of freedom, a lot of customization, and also a lot of depth. I love the transformations, and the exploration.

The loss of control is also great. I love a game that punishes me for losing, without being so easy that I have to lose on purpose. Yet it's not imbalanced, and it's possible to overcome hard challenges as well.

And to top it all off, it has a fantastic modding community, which is something I value highly, since I like modding games myself.

The dev is also great, and has incorporated some ideas from mods into the main game, which makes for an even greater experience.

All around great game. The fight/fuck mechanic gives a lot of choice in differing play styles. Regarding Customization this game is peak in terms of your characters demeanor and fashion. If you want to be a big titty goth girl or a skinny twink you can!

This is the singular best lewd and lascivious life simulator I have encountered.
    • Able to do anything you want, wherever you want, wherever you want, however you want
    • Mod and imagepack support
    • Extremely long with an extreme amount of content
You live as a young adult, and every minute counts and can drastically change gameplay in the future. The key point of this is that despite the number of times you end up bound for reason #247 or another, you have an unmatched granularity in control of how you go about day-to-day life and respond to situations.

My only issue is that the default images make the main character look uncomfortably young, considering how brutal situations can get.

An all-time classic when it comes to adult games, at this point. I've been playing DOL since about 2019, off and on, and boy does it always deliver. I hardly even play for the smut anymore, but what is there is wonderful and the actual game aspect of the piece is stellar.

I know it's a text based game, but my only suggestion would be to add more animations and graphics - especially for the Lurkers, Wasps, Bees, and other such creatures that haven't received any visual love yet. Looking forward to how the game progresses, as always.

If you're looking for a customizable porn game, this is it. There are tons of things to do, thousands of ways to get into trouble, and thousands of getting out of them, also experiencing this game for the first time and see what outcome your character has been one of my favorite experiences, also there are tons of thing to do and experience this world with COW-GIRLS, WOLFS, ANGELS, DEMONS, ETC.

    Lunar_eclipse2042

Great game, lots of things to do. the one thing that would make this better is if the player character looked older, the game says they are 18, but they certainly do not look like it.
If it wasn't for that one issue this would easily be a 10/10

I'm not sure this game is British enough...

Degrees of Lewdity (DoL to it's friends) is a text based web game. Normally, these are middling to poor, given how easily they can be pumped out. DoL says screw that noise, I'm going to be needlessly complicated. You take on the role of a freshly minted 18-year old orphan, whose attempts to move out are stymied by two things: First, your guardian has taken your documents and is demanding back rent, and secondly, the town is unbearably sexual.

The gameplay loop moves through weeks; Mon-Fri you have school, and you're expected to pay an increasing amount of money at the start of each week. The game gives you plenty of ways to earn that money, from simple low paying tasks, to high risk, high reward tasks. Schoolwork ties into the real meat of the game: the stat and status system. The stat system here can rival professionally made games, with the game tracking everything from how good you are at math to how good your grip on reality is to how popular you are as a prostitute, and giving you plenty of skill rolls to use those stats on.

The entire time, you're running the risk of being sexually harassed. The vast, vast majority of sexual encounters in DOL are non or dubcon, and pretty much everyone in town wants you sexually. Some of the encounters/storylines can get extremely dark fast, and deal with themes of abuse and psychological damage (another stat the game keeps track of). Suffice to say, this is not a game for light hearted sexual fun, and it's not a game you're dominant in.

Outside of that, the character customization can be pretty decently robust; one of the main things to do with your money is to purchase new outfits (that, naturally, have gameplay and social effects), and crossdressing is a non-minor part of the game. On top of that, there's several transformations you can undergo, by meeting certain requirements; DOL straddles the line between fantasy and reality with expert precision.

The combat system here is actually pretty interesting, for a text game. You can move your various body parts in response to your sexual partner (or partners! Many encounters contain more than one assailant), and what you do and how you hold yourself affects how the encounter goes for you. The more you fight, the more it hurts, for example. As you get more practiced in using each of your body parts, your ability to do so well increases.

If the game has a shortcoming, it's that it is a text game; while it does provide generic animations for various sexual acts, most of the content comes in the form of descriptions. Don't let that turn you off of this game, though, as what is there is done well.

What should turn you off of this game is if you're not comfortable with the dark themes that it embodies. It's possible to turn some of them off, but DOL is a game that thrives in exploring the darker aspects of kink. Not that there's not plenty of good and wholesome involved, as some of the storylines can be sweet, but you'll be going through plenty of suffering to get there.

It's a game I highly recommend, and it's one of the few slower burning games that can hold my attention for a long time, just because of how detailed the worldbuilding here is, but that should come with the caveat that I really enjoy dark themes in my kinks, so it bears repeating to be mindful of that going in; pretty much any hard kink you can imagine is here.

I really dislike whoever recommended this game to me because I just spent the entire day playing, glued to my screen.
Damn good game with a lot of content.
I'm playing the DoL Transmod Plus version

I see DOL as the best HTML erotic game out there! I've been playing for years and watching the game grow as my character does has been a joy. The dev, Vrelnir, is very active and the Discord community clearly shows their love for the game and everything strange/quirky about it.

This is not a game for everyone. Every possible content warning imaginable applies to the scenarios your character will face. But if you're looking for an open world sex-ridden semi-adventure text game with sparse pixel art (thank god for the devs revamping the artwork a few years ago) then DOL is worth trying.
