I believe I mentioned earlier in this thread, but I might have mentioned elsewhere. But this was a bug that I didn't find until shortly before I released 0.38 to patrons.
It is resolved as of now, as well as other stuff such as the broken images,
and included in the update Patrons already have access to. This update will be up on my website on the 17th. You can also visit my website or the discord to read what else is included in the changelog.
I'll update the first post here once 0.38 is available for free download which should happen when 0.39 is available for patrons (should be 04/03 provided I don't break anything)
That said, it's still entirely possible I missed something. As the game keeps getting bigger, bug testing keeps getting harder. If you ever find any weird bugs like that, feel free to report it.
2. AI art has a tendency of messing up certain details like hands or clothes which some people can find distracting, jarring or plain uncanny valley. This is particularly noticeable if the creator is lazy or incapable of touching up and fixing these little details.
I don't really want to comment too much on AI art because I don't want this thread to become derailed again.
However I do want to mention this part. If you're playing version 0.36, it might come off as me being lazy, as I did do some minor fixes but most of the images were placeholder images. (as well as a lot of intentional broken images).
For about 3 months I had been working on higher quality images and I just released them all as a very large batch for version 0.38.
When I say working, I mean I bought a graphics tablet, and redrew portions of the image (leg, shirt, hand, eyeball, etc). I'm not an artist, but I'm pretty good at touching up images via photoshop. To put it this way, most images took me at least a couple of hours to edit. With a few taking me a couple days. In fact there's one image that I recently removed from the game that I did spend 2 days on. I'm a little upset about that, but I was never quite satisfied with the image.
Some of my images, you might still see things I missed, or you might be able to tell which parts were photoshopped because I struggled to blend it with the image properly. But overall I'm pretty proud of most of the images you'll find in 0.38, and I genuinely worked my butt off.
I think in version 0.38 there are almost no images that I didn't have to edit, save for a couple.
The free version of 0.38 will have the images reduced to jpg, which will lower the quality a bit but I'm sure most people won't be able to tell the difference. This is mostly due to the fact that after I added all the images in 0.38, the games file size went from 80mb to 530mb. To ease the bandwidth on my website, as well as for people with lower download speeds, I opted to reduce the size of the game via images.
Some people have made the comment of "you're using AI, there's no reason you can't have an image on every single page".
Well, sure. They're right, I could do that.
But then the game would be filled with monstrosities like this:
