Ren'Py - Desert Stalker [v0.18.3] [Zetan]

actual peak top 3 for me the best 3dcg i have played the dev is doing an amazing job great story , great dystopian fantasy type world , outstanding models especially Ain ... strong 9/10 from me this dev doesn't miss i hope he keeps going strong like this.

Postapo with mixed climate of Fallout, Stalker and Mad Max, that's what I'd love also in a regular game. Story is good and it has moral choices like in old good Fallout games and these choices don't only affect scene, but also plot, for example mutant allies and letting some people to live or die. Characters are divided into easy ones that you're able to bang from the very start, like Zahra or Ain and those you need to go through dialogues like Queen or Lirah. At the beginning it was quite annoying, because most of characters were too easy for me which was a lil bit boring, but with game progress, it was developed.

Graphics and LIs looks very good. Not the best, but at very high level. Cutscenes are great addition however. Sounds could be improved, but I don't complain as good sounds is quite rare in Ren'Py porn games.

This game is definetely a very good mix of porn game and storytelling, if someone love postapo/dystopian settings. If not, well, it's also worth playing and I'm recommending everyone to at least try it, because you won't find another Ren'py 3D game like this one. They can pretend to be like Desert Stalker, but they aren't.

The setting itself is one of my favourites in any game, nevermind AVNs. The Stalker and Fallout mix just works really well. The dystopian setting spotted with some very solid horror elements makes a world that you really believe is dangerous, it feels alive and not particularly friendly.

The characters are good, all the love interests have their own personalities which are fun to interact with in different ways. Nothing revolutionary of course, you know what type of game this is, but enjoyable nonetheless. There are a few I find to stand out as geniunely interesting, no spoilers but I'll simply say I saw enough of them to stay engaged on a character level.

The story is perhaps this game's weakest point, which makes it sound worse than it is because it isn't terrible. Rather, because this is a sandbox game which has such a wide pool of characters and groups, it is only towards the end of this game that you feel out of the shallows. It simply takes a good few hours to grow some depth, and the plot is only recently feeling like it is firmly in the second act. I would say it is on a good track though, it is just still in the first half of it's journey despite being quite large already.

Finally, the visuals and audio. The reason you are downloading an exe instead of physically turning pages. Simply put, I found them to be very good with very little exception. There are many frames where the game is just beautiful. The developer deserves extra credit for actually making full environments and not just having beautiful characters stood in plain and boring rooms.

Desert Stalker rarely has a moment that falls below good, and sometimes it is geniunely great. It is easily in my top 5 AVNs and definitely worth playing.

The quality of this game is top notch. Sex scene animation and story development is amazing.
This game has also some morally questionable topics which are very intruiging - sometimes can be a bit bloody.

Cant say a bad thing about the game. There might be some story parts in the main quest which didnt hooked me as much as other parts, but thats not a problem since the scenes and the story is great overall.

Favorite parts: Development of the relationship to Shani and interaction with Queen Merneith

Well, the game is amazing.
Graphics are beyond what is needed for a game like this.
This game makes 90% of games out there look like garbage.
The story is outstanding, and all characters act realistically.
The only tiny complain I have is that the game has been around for a bit, but we still have no anal with Zahra (she needs to be straighten out).

0.18.0 version.
It was my second try of this game. First try was on something like ~0.10 version and i didn't like family corruption line and drop this game in the middle of walkthrough. I think in this version it was somehow reworked and now it's better explained by the state of affairs in this world. Nevertheless i was already prepared.
It's very linear vn with just a few routes and difficult to miss the "right" path.
There is no any gameplay, mechanics (only one in a simple battle) and management but has very interesting plot and universe. You believe in this world in relationships of characters.
Visual and graphics have very high level of execution. How scenes were directed helps you to immerse in this world.
To cons in addition to gameplay i can add lack of sounds and music in some scenes.
It's only a beta version but it already has very high standard in a whole vn genre.

This game was already among the best Renpy gamesout there, in most departents: visuals, plot, characters, you name it.

However it keeps getting better. It's amazing to see it developping and hopefully the authot does not let up like many other goood authors did in the past.

⠀⠀To clarify first: this game is missing VN tag and is considered "sandbox", but do not fret, fellow visual novel enjoyers. This is essentially a VN, where you in certain sections are able to choose in which order you wish to proceed the events. So no phone, no task manager and no schedule to follow.
⠀⠀I remember the front page's description used to say that the game is inspired by Fallout and S.T.A.L.K.E.R series - that's not exactly true, more like Fallout and Mad Max. This game has honestly more to do with Strugatsky's book "Roadside Picnic", than Stalker game franchise.
⠀⠀Visually this sits among the better DAZ3D projects out there with adequate lighting/shadows and post-processing on top of having fully animated cut-scenes and custom made 3D assets/environments. Although don't get your hopes up, those look like what you would expect from a solo dev, still better than 95% of games on this forum. There is fitting soundtrack for action scenes, nice ambiance. Very few sound effects tho and definitely not in the sex scenes.
⠀⠀I wont discuss plot, because it's not relevant right now. The game is not yet at the development stage where we would have a good grasp of it. But the current overview would be: protagonist is questing for the queen, while making allies, assembling a harem and uncovering mysteries of the surrounding world. There is quite a bit of lore for You, lore enjoyers, in the codex to read. At this point choices don't really alter the course of the main plot-line, but they do matter and change how certain events/relationships play out. There is some* replayability, as you don't get to see all content in a single playthrough. Pacing is good, there are no walls of text and no anime-level exposition. Don't think I was ever skipping text out of boredom/fatigue.
⠀⠀Characters are ....... well some of them have their own ambitions, backgrounds and personalities. But ultimately their most defining trait is that they are leaking waterfalls between their legs in the glorious presence of MC's shiny bald head. Well, some of them not initially, but they all eventually come around. In that regard it's a classic harem adult game. Which is totally not a problem for me. What I think could be improved is that the MC is rarely struggling for anything and is basically all-mighty Gary Stu, he has no faults and no weaknesses, except that he's bald. This is especially confusing considering the post-apocalyptic setting, where majority are lacking basic commodities like food, water, freedom or safe shelter, but none of it is ever a concern to the protagonist.

Some tags explanations:
Monster girls - there are some human women with mutated bodily features, calling them *monster* girls would be an overstatement.
Pregnancy - there are talks of pregnancy/impregnation, but I'm not sure if it will actually be ever present in the game.
Slave/bdsm - well, uuhm, technically in the game, but no really hardcore stuff. Certainly not to level you would expect out of a post-apoc adult game.
Lactation - afaic, was briefly shown with a side character for a couple of frames.

I kinda struggle to come up with serious negatives here, but this game is not a masterpiece, make no mistake here. But it's unique, high-quality and has a bunch of memorable moments. I still vividly remember how Shani almost got trapped in an illusive dream made up of memories far gone, that hit hard. Excellent erotic experience.

This game has it all, it is the gold standard of everything an adult game should be

If not the best, definitely one of the best adult game, I've ever played. The visuals are stunning, the scenes are hot, the story interesting and unique. If you're into the genre described, I recommend it hands down.

Awesome game. You must must must play this game. Sound , music , Visual, story, Characters everything is just awesome. Its one of a kind game in this Industry. Dev is very hardworking and super active. Minimum wait period for the update is 3 Months for beta. Its available on steam too.

You know, I never expected an adult game to have a deeper meaning, I've played games all around the world, RPG, Adventure, Action, but all those do not grasp a real sensation of what to truly expect past that point.

This game is something else, it has everything you could wish for in a game like this,.
"Desert Stalker" even the name sounds good.

I've searched the web for good adult games with good plot but mainly just find straight S which is typically boring, this game actually has a good plot and good decision making which I'm really surprised to find in this type of industry.

Overall, this game was a whole new experience for me playing and finding good "Ren'Py's" I thought all the reviews we're all overrated until I actually gave it a try.

Never judge a book by its cover, I guess someone would say.

Its so hard to give this game a proper review, it has so much content, of course I joined for the sexy things, but before I knew it, the story and the cutscenes (that are the best I have ever seen in a game like this), this game has passion and you wont be disappointed playing this game. This developer is an MVP!

This is definitely my favorite one.

The character designs are great, the Fallout inspired story is interesting and the sex scenes are excellent.

Really can't wait for more, I'd even call it a masterpiece.

Compelling characters with great story arcs (even when incomplete), good dialogue, amazing renders + animations. Great world building. Functional + easily navigable UI. Excited for future updates.

Unique: MC takes dominant role in most (if not all) relationships, though choices are available to take on equal/sub role. Gore enabled (toggle available). Sharing enabled (avoidable). ~10 hrs content. Repeatable scenes. Linear plot lines however choices are consequential.

Okay, this game was a masterpiece and far better than I was expecting it to be. There is not a single thing I can complain about in this game. The characters, the world, the story, the choices, good or bad, it's all amazing and well done so far. I cannot wait to see what the developer has in store for this game in the next update. It's a masterpiece all the way through.

Well what can I say, original especially in this area. Engaging dialogues and a really well-made setting with the various factions and intrigues that are explored a little at a time.

Gameplay 4/5
The quest tracker is a turning point, it helps you not to miss the desired scenes and keep track of the things to do. Not all choices have consequences, and that's not necessarily a bad thing. I recommend always tackling the secondary quests before focusing on the main one. I would have appreciated a bit more strategy, perhaps in the managerial field of the outposts.

Graphics/Audio 3/5
The renderings are above average, the quality is indisputable and the care and attention to detail is evident.
The cutscenes are less appreciable in my opinion.
The audio is not the strong point, ok there are soundtracks in the various environments, but the absence of sounds in many circumstances does not help the immersion.

Top game.
It immerses the player with the role of a main character “conquering” the world as he pleases to.
Nothing to criticize at all outside, we need more of it.
If anything, it's so driven on progressing the world that you might miss repeatable events in a sense but you have ofc the gallery for that.

This game is captivating and fun. It fuses Mad Max with a harem game that has great art and interesting writing / world building. Animation isn't the BEST but it does the job. You start playing for a fap, you keep playing for the story
