VN - Ren'Py - Abandoned - Deviant Desires [v0.5] [PingPanda]

The initial begining of this game was very good. Story was there, character models were nice, even to this very day. Then dev decides to do 1st remake of the original and most of us were like ok, if the game will be better it's fine i guess and then like many before said 1 step forward 3 steps backward situation. Radio silence betwin dev and their supporters. To simply put a real shame since the game was actually good. I would recommend you to play it, just don't attach yourself to this game since it has no progress and is abandoned.

One step forward, three steps back. Repeat. Repeat. Repeat! Ooh, hey, let change game engines! Repeat. For two YEARS. Game is still what any other dev would call a proof of concept DEMO. Meanwhile, art, game mechanics, story.... all retreads from other devs who actually.... dev. Two years ago. Honestly surprised it hasn't occurred to him to just put his logo on a completed game and call it success.

The second time you visit the studio, and you enter in, you can't click on anything.
I don't know if you put a single way to follow event but you have to fix it.
Because it's impossible to continue the game, i tried to start a new game but nothing again that bug.
I don't know if there is a specific order to do some events.

Review of version 0.3b

This game has beautiful models and renders. Just top notch. Mom and Aunt are of particularly high quality and the textures are so detailed. The game is well-lit too.

Beyond that, I was bored to tears by this game. It's porn game cliche after porn game cliche. 148 points available and it takes a lot of time to eek out a point here and there. That has intolerable grind written all over it. So I unren and look through the folders. There is no sex. This game has been out for almost 18 months and there is a footjob in a restaurant. This is poor storytelling.

The interface is cleanly designed, but almost all of the standard ren'py preferences are disabled . So I can't control volume, text speed, or skipping. That lack of control is unnecessarily irritating.

It looks like this game has been restarted twice and been abandoned at least once. That's a big red flag. It shows poor planning and a lack of commitment to projects. What a waste of excellent 3D assets.

How do you make a ren'py game but remove the basic ren'py features? Don't want rollback? Fine, I can deal with that. But seriously, how do you take out/not add the standard preferences? Opened the game and saw this then immediately deleted it.

I don't know how a game released in Dec 2017 well over a year ago has no content. I can't help but assume the dev is scamming their patrons.

The still are okay but the animations are short and bland, There is no story, no sex. Seriously this game has been out a year plus and there isn't a single sex scene with the main characters or side characters.

Nothing about the game suggests that in the future it will get better because things haven't gotten better after one year. It is one thing to support a developer for a year and see a measurable increase in content as the game matures we don't see this here.

Don't let the Dec 12. 2o17 date fool you this game is bare bones and you wont be having sex with anyone, But hey you can grind in a 148 love and 148 points of domination at 1 to 2 points per day. So there is an in game's year worth of grinding added to the game, YAY!

I read how people where annoyed at the lack of content when the game released and now a year plus later it still has no content. So maybe the people complaining last year where not so unreasonable as people claimed.

It is a good game.
The girls are beautiful,I like the mom and sister's model. I am hoping what will happen in this story. I know the dev is making two game at the same time, I am afraid of the lowing-speed update for everyone, anyway 4 stars deserved. My votes.

i like the graphics, characters look good , renders are high quality, main menu is a bit dark and hard to see , could be good if he changes the font colors, the story in not really that deep and doesn't give me a attached feeling , but that's OK for a game in Beta phase , thumbs up , hope to see more from [PingPanda] xD

Show, don't tell. The flow is ruined constantly whenever you meet a new character and the game is stopped to push you into a wall of text that could easily be shortened, or skipped totally and told in-game through dialogue and events. The renders are of high quality, so this storytelling flaw is really a shame. Other than that, there's not much original or so going for it...

I don't want to make reviews of games in such an early development but someone must raise the star rating of this game because it is actually promising and I believe it will be very good in a few updates. The models are really good, the sex scene (one so far) has nice renders (not the usual tunnel mouth in the bj) and the story is generic but serves its purpose.

Also, there is no NTR anymore so all these people that rated it low, with a million excuses that didn't make sense, have no reason to wine about it anymore. Everyone's happy, the little drown woman is not fucked by a little drown man, just play the game and let's hope it will develop accordingly.

For now we can see its potential. Good character models and fast travel. Story, what story? Plot? What it is? There is almost nothing to see or do. Content wise there is almost nothing to see. Characters disappear from the face of earth if they are not needed for something.

While the renders in this game are nice, the story progression is very slow. I mean, the game has potential but updates bring so little content that is hard to judge where this game can go. This got me thinking that the developer of this game is lazy which always is a disappointment.

No sort of progress indicator to know when content ends. liked the previous version better actually had more content.

Like the other poster said this a grindy porn game with no end with reused models with no porn except if you can get off on a 1 min cuck scene.

It's also extremely linear in what you are grinding. There is no choice between blah or bleh it's just one scene per window same scene every day. BORING

guys trust me. i know!! the renders and Girls are sexy AF and high Quality but srsly everything eles about this game is just straight up shit and as i already said A HUGE WASTE OF TIME.

1. there is grind
2. there is literally no Content
3. the only h-Content is SPOILER: you see your big sis getting fucked by you uncle
4. THAT SEX SCENE FUCKING SUCKED AND WAS UNFAPABLE! it was like 2 sec Long.
5. there is no Story. it starts with maybe 20sec of Story and then the Story just Ends, then you grind and then you visit your aunts house and see how your big sis fucks your uncle while the mc Acts like the biggest fucking beta bitch ever.
6. the gameplay is just bad and stupid. you can gain "love" Points by not watching your sisters/mother taking a bath. it makes no sense. they don't even know that you left and didn't peek on them, why the fuck would their love Points grow for something they dont even know happend. and you get Domination Points by peeking on them and them getting semi angry at you and asking you to leave.
7. there are Bugs where sometimes part of the renders get stucked on the screen and cover future renders.
8. the ui is annoying AF. to load old saves you Need to restart the whole game.

man what a disappointment. i really liked this dev's old game "Family Matters" and thought it had a lot of potential. and looking at this games preview i thought this would be a normal fun incest game with great renders and sexy Girls. but holy shit did this suck. everything about the old game was so much better you would mean this shit was his first game and Family Matters was his 2. game made. and then ofc the whole sis fucking uncle BS. same old rdm ass SWERVE BITCH LOL so many devs are doing atm with no buildup or reason behind it or anything. and judging by the comments in this thread i wasn't the only one unhappy with that Scene. and obv i'm not surprised that People don't like it. his old game Family Matters never had the slightest sign of having scenes like that so ofc fans of his old game wouldnt expect shit like that now in this game. but W/E im rambling.

tldr: SKIP THIS SHIT. ALMOST NO CONTENT AND THE CONTENT THAT IS IN THIS GAME IS TRASH.

normally on early versions of a game i would say "worth checking out in 3 month" or so, but just by checking what this dev says, how the People react to this dev and his game and his history... for me this dev and this Project Show all the signs of early Abandoned. only my guess.

The following review is based off my personal experience with playing this Game/Visual Novel... I try to be as brutally honest and detailed as I can, and these are my own opinions and thoughts, from one or more play throughs...

(01/02/2018 - Original Review - v0.1)

There isn't much to this one, beyond basic game play mechanics, but it is also extremely early into it's development... It does go with the overly used Family Sex stuff, just like in it's previous incarnation...

The visuals of the characters look really well done, albeit some characters have slightly oversized breasts, but not so big as to be outside of reality... The backdrops look good and the navigation is easy enough to figure out... The map looks simple and easy to use as well...

The script had a few spelling errors, but for the most part looks spot on... If there is an overall main plot, I didn't really figure it out... For the moment, there is not much game play, but the gist so far is that you play a male protagonist living with his 2 sisters and mother... He goes to work everyday to make money, and then comes home and interacts with his family, sleeps, begins it all again... So he appears to be the primary bread winner, but it's hard to really tell this early... Characters never appear in their bedrooms, and most current interactions are short and just grind out various stats... The only other character where it's clear she has an activity she goes to, in the younger sister, who's still going to school (I'll assume she's at least 18 and in her senior year? If not, then Houston we have a problem)... At some point, not in this version, there will be an Aunt and a female cousin... This one is definitely leaning towards a Love/Domination angle, with those being the primary character stats needing to be grinded, and of course money... For the moment, there are not many scenes really, but what is there, seems to work smoothly...

I do find that a lot of these games/visual novels, that go with the whole Family sex stuff, most follow a similar pattern... The older sister is always at odds with the male protagonist brother, and the younger sister always gets along with both... It's an over used cliché and stereotype, in my honest opinion... As most families that I know of, the brother is usually very protective of his sisters, especially when he's a middle child or the oldest... Of course there is always drama, but not loathing and disgust... Especially when their all adults, even if they are young adults... And in this particular game/VN, if the introduction holds true, there ends up being two women family members (the older sister and the cousin) who will be at odds with the protagonist, oh joy... Anyhow, this is just a general observation...

Overall, I like the visuals and it all seems to work fine, for being so early into it's creation process... I may check back with this one once a lot more content gets added... Hopefully more story based elements are added, without going overboard on the drama... Only time will tell...


(01/24/2018 - Review Update - v0.2)

Other then some very small tweaking, bug fixes, etc. there isn't much overall content added to this update... With the exception of a supposed Older Sister Back Story update, which isn't really back story, as that would imply history, which this content is not history but current story plot...

In any case, the older sister is caught by the protagonist having very fast sex with her uncle, while visiting family at his aunt's house... The whole aunt's house event was over so quickly, and same with this small sex event, your head is left spinning... I suspect the only purpose that whole aunt house thingy occurred was to setup the protagonist with some blackmail material for future content... If this current content update is any indication at all of future content, then this VN/Game is in trouble... As it all happened too fast, and felt completely rushed...

Now I'm pretty worried about this VN/game's future... Because if this content update is an example of future content, then this will most likely just be a typical grind game leading to a porn fest, without much thought or effort actually put into any meaningful or deep story... Just be aware, that after the very quick Aunt's house deal, the game doesn't have much else to do at that point... And if you load a prior version save game, expect the shop to bug out on you...

The character models themselves still look spot on, but thus far the promise it once showed, has been marred by this new content... I may check back in this one later on to see if it is salvageable, but only time will tell...

(03/29/2018 - Review Update - v0.4 Alpha)

Well, the last few updates have been more about overhauling, reworking, tweaking, removing some stuff, adding new mechanics, adding new content to earlier steps, and so on... This game has shifted and changed so much since the first release... You can tell the developers have been doing a lot of experimenting in earlier versions, and decided on new directions for certain aspects a few different times over it's development...

In it's current incarnation there has been some polish with the visuals, introduction of new characters and future story lines, removal of some content and the addition of some new content (primarily down the Mother story line), and a lot of general tweaking...

This still feels more like a stat grind game then an actual visual novel... Most of the content you actually open up revolves around either sex related things with the mother, a clothing show by the younger sister, introduction of the aunt and cousin, and relationship building with the younger sister that doesn't open anything up yet... It takes about 2 in-game weeks of repeating content to see all there is in the current mother story line...

My biggest pet peeve with this game is that it does not allow you to skip through content you've already experienced over and over again, by allowing the use of the CTRL key to skip the text and scenes you don't want to see a second, fourth, tenth+ time already... The developer has that function turned off for some reason... Which means you either have to wear out your mouse button or wear out the space bar on your keyboard... It makes the repeating content just that more annoying because you can't skip through it to get to the new stuff...

I can see the developers are putting a lot of time and care into this project... But because of the continuous alterations, it makes the development of public released content feels like it is sometimes going backwards, or going so darn slow... I'ld rather them take the time to tweak away, get something stable, then release it to the public... Not the push and pull it currently feels like with it's releases... Yes, the game is improving, but it feels like a rollercoaster ride, and not the fun kind... I'ld like to see some stabilization and then more moving forward, rather then the constant backpedaling and redesign with each public version...

For the time being, you have to spend a lot of time to see only a small amount of content, which feels strange for a 0.4 version...

The current game play mechanics feel pretty solid for a stat grind style game, so I do hope we now start to see a focus on new content being added without the back and forth development we've been experiencing since it's original public release... I will probably wait a couple more updates before revisiting this game, just like this time around... And I look forward to seeing new content as the game develops... I went ahead and added another star, because now I'm starting to see maybe some stabilization in the game, and I look forward to seeing it progress from here on out...
