Why should I waste my time trying xx number of paths where there *might* be some of the supposedly vast content?
And what of the paths I'm not interested? Do I need to "endure" those just to see *some* content?
Oh there's definitely vast content, its not supposed at all. Some of the 'paths' do give you a long juicy ride (though they nearly all still end unfished tbh) but just finding those amidst all the completely abandondoned, semi-abandonned and not-even-started stubs will take you orders of magnitude more time than it does to go through them. Its like trying to find a couple of apples in a crate of lemons, only you're blindfolded and the crate is the size of a container ship. And yeah if those apples aren't the kinks/fetishes/type of content that you were hoping for then its a complete waste of time.

So I tried 3 more paths ... 1 dead end after like 4 clicks, 2 others "no content yet".
I guess the "gameplay" is "let's see if you can find the content"
If I would wanna play puzzle games ... I'd play puzzle games instead.

And since Mr "or there is vast content" couldn't even point to a single path ... I guess that does speak volume.

FYI, other devs do manage to point out which paths have (the most) content in the respective current release.

This is just a horrible mess of lots of unfinished ideas and since it's in half a dozen separate files now anyways a suggestion would be to focus on one and put the others on hold.
I guess G.R.R. Martin will finish his books sooner than a single path here will be complete^^

I started working on mapping out the routes for fun, haven't made much progress, but just on this half complete map there are several fairly deep paths and 5 endings.

But this game will always, unavoidably, be a minefield of dead ends. Unless the dev started making every new addition straight paths with 0 choices the number of dead ends will always grow exponentially faster than new passages.
The insane amount of branching also means any map is going to look like ass with how quickly each new layer of the tree grows.

This is actually quite useful for someone like me who only rechecks this game out every 6 months

For what it is it actually makes me wanna try the path. Have you considered opening it up for collaboration even? Makes me wonder if there's any tools to help with the mapping, Twine being open source and all. Dev has a discord

Thanks a lot. Kudos for this effort and patience (I certainly didn't have that^^)

And I don't mind the occasional dead end or if "some* parts aren't finished (though then it could give a warning early on)
It's just the ratio on this game is way too high and frustrating for my taste

This month had some very good weeks, a very bad week, and an okay week. Overall though I think it equaled out to one of the better months for content in quite a while!

Devious World side, we've got updates for Jamie playing with his dream journal (going some interesting places) and some stuff for Theresa, mostly about her taking up collecting as a hobby. (As you might expect, this does not just wind up with her accumulating stuff and killing time.)

Devious Mundanity side, Michika has two new jobs, one of which got the majority of content and hit some good old classics as regards lewds.

As an aside, Theresa's content was inspired by my finally getting around to starting the game . (I haven't actually finished it out yet. Shocking, to those of you who are passingly familiar with my gaming habits, I'm sure.) It's definitely going to take on a different flavor here than in the original, played through enough, but with some fun callbacks to the inspiration hopefully.

Hey people. What the most developed lesbian/futa path in this?
There's also a rather lengthy futa bit in the runaway boy's path (Eric iirc). Go to worldland and find the movies, props, go to old weapons, then the spear (turn into a futa amazon, image was an old incaseart pic that may not appear since it was an embed before Skooma started putting images in a separate folder). Has a couple bad endings and doesn't play out all the way to any good endings. Probably forgotten about given how many years old that path is.
Another shortish incomplete one is over on the Holly young adult path. Christmas, stay in, rooftop, pull/push santa yourself which turns her into futa santa (on the more silly side of porn writing).

But there's quite a few futa and lesbian paths in Cyan as she's the most written female path (Skooma finds her pov easiest to write).

Also Layla. Layla the mean girl is almost completely lesbian, sometimes futa (usually not Layla herself). No F/M there iirc.

There's also some long ones in Mundanity with the red-headed female guild merc (Kai), though the longest branch there is RWBY fanfiction that was a tangential escape option on a completely different story about rescuing her sort-of sister, which later became its own standalone fanfiction on AO3.

For anyone else reading, the vast majority of content is found in the teenager sections (of those, mostly Cyan, Eric, and Jamie). Also, some of the content is Dark Souls level hidden, where certain choices lead to one story becoming an entirely different one (with completely different fetishes) that is really lengthy compared to the rest of the branch it's found on. Sometimes on a Gameover screen. So yeah, good luck hunting.

If you want to do a thorough search for content on your own, and don't want to wait on strangers to finish (or not) a map, I recommend skipping straight to just reading the choices at the end. The choices are usually good indications of what's happened and what will happen. Then just keep clicking through blue links until they start to look interesting to you. Granted, it's a tougher ask for new readers now that the file is so much bigger.

I think Skooma's writing is pretty good but the ADHD is strong with this one.

Well this month had some real highs and lows. It started off well with a lot of inspired Michika content, as well as finally coming up with a premise to enable a sort of character I've been thinking of for quite a while; while the games have a lot of isekai fantasy settings, they don't really have "normal" player characters that come from those settings. (Ireth and Maxia not counting due to being "overlord" types.)

Then about halfway through the month I hurt my back/shoulder. How, you ask? Being over forty. Yeah, that's a thing that can just happen to you when you're over a certain age. Anyway it basically benched me for the last half of the month, and I was only able to peck out a bit more on the new characters (Raz and Kona) in the last few days (and that only by plugging in a second keyboard and having it in my lap so that I didn't have to raise my arms to type).

Anyway it's slowly getting better. Content may still be a little light in the next week or two (hard to "just stay off it and let it rest" when it's your shoulder) but I should be able to manage.

But yeah, more Michika stuff, two new characters, I'll let you read the dev diary for details this time.

So what is this? Different v number and name? New game? Spin off?
I love Game update reports that don't explain shit and people just assume we play every game and need to know every one of the ~18k games on this site.

What? The game has been divided into Devious World (mundane protagonists in fantasy/sci-fi situations) and Devious Mundanity (fantasy/sci-fi protagonists) for a long time. Like over 40 updates/months ago.

I have no clue about that, never played that game. But now its not in one zip anymore? or just one updated. Are we leave the old links in cause it supposed to be both games?

Ok, now I see the issue. I think the dev usually only includes the games that have new stuff in the update, so you'd have to go the previous update for Devious World. Saves on file size, I guess, but it's certainly inconvenient if you don't get the new version every month.

Hmm that probably means I need to leave the old links in as its Devious world v93. But then again it has the old version of the other game inside. Will probably see what to do tomorrow.
