Man, what an absolute travesty. I played the old Dickgirl Dorm, and loved it despite its flaws. It was a great game. This? This is a terrible revamp. One of the worst. I came into this WANTING to love it, but it really disappointed. Not only did it not fix any of the flaws from the previous one, it added more flaws on top. Monumental fall from grace.

    Pros:
    - The intro giving more context on the MC's relationship with the wife and giving the option to already be willingly into sharing her with others and into netorase is a decent touch, even if a little awkwardly done. One of the few changes that feels like a genuine improvement.
    -Futa NTR game...

    Neutral:
-The political writing. Some people on this and other forum sites are absolute babies and can't stand seeing digital characters disagree with their precious feelings. Most of the player base reactions to the in game politics is way overblown. The politics in game isn't exactly a resounding success in writing, but the dev can write whatever he wants, it's really not that deep guys. Quit malding.

    Cons:
    - WAY too many characters. Far too many. This was a problem in the original, but there are even MORE characters now. There's not any focus on any of them, no real ability to get attached or care about any of them, because our attention is pulled in too many directions at once. Each and every character added takes time away from others, both for development behind the scenes and more importantly on the screen of the player. Bogging down games with a million characters is never a good thing.
-The character design is worse than the original game. Yeah, the models themselves are 'better'... but the overall design and aesthetic is universally worse and feels a lot less cohesive. The old game felt like a single cohesive universe, single location, every model fit into the design of the game just fine even if the models themselves weren't the best, and the overall design of the characters was usually better. All the old characters us veterans of the first game know and like have been changed, shifted, and given a new look that misses the mark completely. Just looking at the banner for the game is awful, the colors don't match up as some are WAY too bright and saturated compared to others, it doesn't look cohesive, and I genuinely miss the old models even with all their flaws. Each character should look unique, yes, but they should all look like they belong in the same game together. Art direction is more important than art quality, that's why pixil games can be so gorgeous when done right. And there is no direction to the art this time around.
-The navigation is clunky and awkward.
-The conversations are just... woah. The gigantic amount of static choices are just awful. It feels so strange and weird to just go up to the characters and just start a random ass conversation about capitalism, or mercantilism, or any of the other political and economic system in there. While I refuse to say that the dev shouldn't write about politics if he really wants to, it's the implementation of it that makes me groan. Too many choices on the screen, too many boring and dreary discussions with all the different characters that all feel the same despite the different opinions.
-While normally I'm more than fine with characters having a bit of stereotyping in them, and it can work and be funny, it becomes a problem when that's ALL a character is. It's not racist, it's not insensitive, it's not any big moral problem... it's jut not that interesting. The characters in the original felt FAR more alive than they do here. The original was far from perfect in this regard and received a lot of (sometimes unwarranted) criticism for the characters being so tropey, some of the characters from the original had moments where they were genuinely interesting or had some depth to them. A little depth goes a long way to making a tropey character feel like a character, not just an endless gag line.

    TLDR:
Damn. I was excited for this, and even gave it some time after that rather disappointing launch of the game. But this revamp didn't fix any of the problems the original one had, and instead introduced even more awkward aspects to the game and took a formerly cohesive look to the game and decided to throw it to the winds with these new models that honestly feel like a downgrade overall compared to the old ones. An honest try was made... but it is not working at all. Very sad.

The actual worst navigation of any renpy game I have played, truly remarkable. Absolutely unplayable, not to mention buggy dialogue and menus.. Premise/characters are decent but this needs a rework from the ground up.

The game seriously needs some kind of walk through. Navigation is a nightmare. Any interaction with the girls is just the same overly long list of options to talk about politics, economics, religion, sports, etc. Not sure why all that is in a porn game. Speaking of porn, I stumbled on one scene early on but it jumped right to the fucking and was rendered from a view making it boring. I'm beginning to think that was the only sex in the game. I spent nearly an hour clicking and the rest is just walking to different parts of the dorm and asking stupid personality questions that lead nowhere. Don't bother clicking the "Who's here" button. 9 times out of 10 it'll take you to a fault screen forcing a rollback.

    Unplayable in 0.4
UI is pain to deal with. Roam back and forth through empty rooms without any idea where to go and what to seek. Character spawn is 100% rng. Dev never heard of "Quality of life" in games and why it's important.
Also filled with bugs. Every time I choose to look "who's here?" there's 80% chance of "an exception occurred" screen.
Honey select is outdated bland piece of artwork but it could be tolerated if the rest of the game is good. It's not so 10y.o. models are only making everything worse.
I spotted some sounds but I guess there's no music or next to none, another missed opportunity.
Other people mentioned bad writing but honestly I couldn't find any dialogue that lasted more then 2 sentences.

Overall waste of time and disappointment. Just don't bother, whatever you wish to find here you won't. Also I have no idea how one can work on a "game" for over a year and come up with this. Or how one can look at it and say "yep, looks good, time to upload it!"
Would dev play this mess himself? I highly doubt it, I sure won't return.

Love Dickgirl Dorm is an absolute. The gameplay especially in the opening is immersive and very entertaining. The mix of humor, fantasy, and customization options makes it a 5/5 experience. Please continue development.

Love the game. Be wary though, if you are religious, you may get triggered. I find it hot though. There's always an appeal to the taboo. The graphics look decent, if not a bit dry (needs more specular and mellatic on stuff). Weirdly unrealistic but they have a certain charm to them. That doesn't mean IM shouldn't improve. If something needs improvement it's that, the graphics.

The Futa and the NTR is good though. Icarus Media has always been good with that stuff so no surprises. That said, art shouldn't be limited by censorship, be the for the good or bad intentions.

    Art is art.

Keep it up IM, and don't let the haters affect you! (Also, you guys shouldn't take his shitposting so seriously. We're on F95, Live & Let Live)

I'll always support the diversity. It's what keeps the things interesting.

The worst revamp I have ever played in my life that more then a revamp I would say its a devamp or downgrade like others would call it.

So where do I even begin with this mess first I want to say I played the original version of Dickgirl Dorm and while it wasn't a master piece I thought it was quite good, clever and unique from the very unique models to the random events and also the story in the original was more serious had a nice tone to the game with that said this revamp is the complete opposite of everything that was good about the original game.

With that said I will now list everything that is worse or downgraded from the original

1 The most obvious the characters the original had some unique looking characters while this revamp version tried recreating them but they just look so ugly and everything in Honey Select looks generic girls look similar to each other they lost all that made them look unique by switching to another engine to make the models aka Honey Select which in my opinion its a terrible engine to make futa games to begin with even more so a futa ntr game.

2 The navigating on the original was really easy to travel and it was quick while navigating on this one just freaking sucks its annoying and such a pain in the ass huge downgrade

3 The story is 100 times worse the original dint have a stellar story but at least it took itself seriously was decent and made sense, but in this new revamp version the story just sucks its not even taking itself seriously its trying to be edgy and funny way too hard that it hurts the whole experience it makes the ntr feel weak because its all a joke also the whole best friend thing just sucks feels unnecessary shouldn't be in the game.

4 Characters personalities looks and dialogue just sucks what I mean by these is that characters are pretty much stereotypical portrayals of races and other stuff like recent politics and the dialogue like I said is full of bad comedy and other cringe stuff not serious.

5 Characters just vanish after talking to them and lets not talk about how tedious it is to trigger some things.

I really do not understand is how a developer can take a very unique game and just remake it but make it 100 times worse then the original it takes a lot of skill to be able to do that the revamp has ugly honey select characters that all look like clones lost the unique art style they once had, the dialogue is cringe, new navigation also sucks pain in the ass to travel and lastly the new storyline isn't serious and is all just lols goofy.

The dev really needs to scrap this atrocious revamp and go back to working on the original version of the game because so far the original beats the revamp in every category of the game.

i'd like to start by saying i have never made a review like this before. compared to the models and characters of the previously released game of dickgirl dorm, the characters look dreadfully and utterly ugly or average at best

Of all the years being in this site, i have never quit playing a game because the characters looked horrible. this is a first for me. i do understand that many men have different standards and opinions of beauty however, the degrees of perception regarding what is beauty is not very far from on another. for example, a person who is a 9/10 can never look like a 2/10 to another. basically two men can agree if shit looks like shit.

every character in the game looks exactly like a female /futa you'd not want to be close to in real life, let alone in a porn fantasy game. it really feels as if the creator did not spend time or effort on making the models at least moderately aesthetically pleasurable to look at...

    this is my honest review.

A lot of my old problems with the original Dickgirl Dorm game still exists in this revamped version that I'll try and expand upon constructively if I can.

My main problem with the setting is that from the get go; the game and its setting is treated like a joke. The reddit tier humour of the mashed potato of doom being how you choose your preferences I think ruins the mood of the game second one of opening it up. I think humour has it's place in such settings as NTR or NTS; but is best utilized as comedic relief rather than setting the tone.

Secondly, I feel like the intro is both much too long and also much too short. How does this seemingly contradictory statement make sense? Well the intro speedruns the MC's relationships with both his best friend and his gf turned wife in two or three quick transitional scenes - and then grudgingly goes over the introduction scenes of like 15 other tertiary characters before the player can even start moving around and exploring for themselves.

I'd say it'd be a fair statement to say that a good portion of the characters within the series are tokenized and stereotyped caricatures of their race or identity which was painfully cringey at times to read. I do like when racial characters are introduced and have their identities become material - but it has to be done tastefully and sparingly I find. Too much and you appear pandering or insensitive, too little and you lose characterization and sources to pull personality from. For me; this series is like seasoning a dish with salt and having the lid come off mid pour. Too much.

To return to the speedrunning allegation; I'd also like to add on that important story beats are moved past without much care. Does Sati mind that MC is dating Jun if you choose to have sex with her? Why isn't it mentioned if Sati is just FWB before MC meets Jun? Why does Jun automatically infer that MC and Sati had sex simply because MC mentions that Sati is a futa? A lot of details aren't answered and are just left up to interpretation when I think that only hurts the flow of the introduction.

Moving away from the story for a moment and onto a more thematic choice I had a problem with; it's a little jarring that the MC and Jun share the same green name tag during the dialogue boxes. It'd look so much better and more legible to have Jun or MC have separate colours.

There's a lot of minor gripes I have with the dialogue as well, such as it being far too political and [Current Year] for my tastes - a lot of the dialogue that could achieve the aims of setting up the boundaries of an NTS couple and such is being spent on talking about weed for some reason, the nuances of Indian religious culture and being introduced to a gigantic cast that extends the scope beyond what I believe to be manageable for a sole developer, at least straight out of the gate.

For now I will rate this 2/5 for the reasons above, this may change as things progress and if certain major offenders on this list get removed then I'd be happy to come back at a later date to rerate this game.

I have a hard time with the navigation for this game, and I will say, the political insert are edging on some extremes I don't personally appreciate. Example some zionist and other anti-diversity take ...

To be honest without that. I'm into the choice aspect but the gameplay is making it difficult to overcome those aspect at the current stage of development.
