Did you ever download a game that you didn't expect to like, only to find out it was a banger?

I don't know if this ever happened to anyone besides me, but I was wondering if someone here ever tried a game just out of pure curiosity, being damn sure it wasn't even going to be good as jerk off material, only to finish all the avaible content and started PRAYING for it to be updated quickly?

It happened to me with hail dicktator. My first impression of it was: "this is just discount Harem Hotel" and I swear that after I gave it a chance I promised myself I would personally track down the developer and bow in front of them as a way to apologize for the unacceptable and blasphemous slandering of their masterpiece

Not really, just the opposite. There are times I check a game because the premise sounds interesting and the game doesn't look that bad only to be disappointed later by the writing and the graphics, usually happens with 3D games.

Kind of. I heard that Final Fantasy 16 got rid of turned based combat, before playing it and I wasn't sure at the time if that would be a good thing. And then when I finally played it, I welcome the change, because I personally love it.

For me it was Good Girl Gone Bad. Female MC aren't my favorites, the art wasn't exciting for me, but I still loved the game, with all the available paths.

Come to think of it, almost all of my top 5 were bottom-of-the barrel finds from genres I didn't expect much out of.

Star Knightess Aura and Curse of Kubel - female-MC fantasy RPGMs tend to be pretty cheap and bad, these are good though.
iNSight of you - not a fan of Honey Select, but the game is awesome and hilarious.
Nuka Ride - I wasn't expecting good corruption out of this mod about a porn studio, but it's pretty good stuff, good maledom too.
