Directional problem in the RPG Games

Hi,

I've been having a directional problem with almost every RPG game for a few weeks now.

The "up" arrow no longer works in the middle of a game (and sometimes even in the menu) and the character tends to move left all by himself.
Can anyone help me on how to fix this?

First guess would be that you have a controller plugged in and that is interfering.
