it's very funny and hot game with a lot of scenes very cool and nice! Great chara design and nice story for this type of game! I liked a lot the point and click not very difficult but with a nice challenge to continue the story! I'm very excited about new update. I loved the style ^^

Ok, how do I put it? It's a frigging walking simulator. The gameplay is pure walking around and clicking all the places that you can, hopping to trigger something and finally advance the story. Tedious tasks that you have to by walking from A to B but it tells you to go back to A to get something and when you are back to B, it tells you to go back to A again and so on. Heck, there are tasks that actually require you to spend real time waiting for it to fill the bar to complete. The only good thing this pile of mess offers you is the art style but for the effort that the gameplay requires you to sacrifice is so unfulfilling. You are better just watching a video gameplay on some pornsite of someone else who actually bothered himself to finish game so you can enjoy the story (if there's any to begin with) and fast forward the grind in between.

Honestly between the characters moving (so you need to wait for them to be in an specific scenario) and losing your time waiting for a bar to fill, after some time I literally lost any desire to keep playing

I like some models of the game "The Secret of the House", but sometimes the draws are sloppy,.
The story is soooo bad if there is one.
The "developer" is scamming the patreon subscribers so much with each delayed release.
I was banned for no reason on the discord, and it's maybe a dictatorship on his discord.

    Be careful !

Overrall a nice game, not much of this art style around which i very much like

The overall gameplay could be improved by adding a quest tracker and small hints because most of the game part of it doesnt make sense or is in general unintuitive

Edit: Holy shit update the game already

Firstly I have to say that I have only played the version available on the developer's page of The Secret Of The House, that is, until the 12th or so. I don't know if things change for the better in the following days.

    THE SECRET OF THE HOUSE

    Ok, where do I start?

-ART: Possibly it is the most remarkable aspect of this game. An art style very similar to the films of Disney's golden age or Don Bluth's movies and games. A very original style for a VN and quite well done, I may say.

    - ANIMATION: Well, I am aware of how difficult it is to animate just a few seconds of a scene so I really appreciate that in most places you can visit there is at least one animated character. The animation in the erotic scenes is fine, but considering the gameplay leading up to it, I can't help but get a little nitpicky. I will explain later.

    - WRITING: I want to include here everything that has to do with the characters, the story, the dialogues and the translation.

Well, it's bad, really bad, and I'm being quite fair in this assessment.
Most of the characters are assholes, the MC is an asshole too or at least this is the feeling I have thanks to some dialogues that sometimes seem written by an AI that has been trained with the instructions of a washing machine.

I would like to highlight the moment where Liza behaves like a piece of shit with poor Kitty (one of the few redeemable characters) for no apparent reason, quite awkward.

The story: generic, I've seen it a million times. Meh, I guess it works as background stuff while you're trying to fuck half the town.

The Translation: I could blame an exaggerated use of Google translate but I think that even that couldn't explain the aberrations that I've come to read. Also, there are a lot of uncorrected errors.

-THE GAMEPLAY: Oh boy... here we go. As I said, the animated cutscenes are fine and the art style is beautiful. Many people will wonder if this is worth playing the game for.

    No, it's not worth it.

The click and point elements are very poorly done and sometimes inconsistent. Apart from the fact that in many cases it's almost impossible to locate them without a walkthrough, they magically appear and disappear from the locations as it suits the game.

The game also doesn't reward you properly for your visual acuity, many times you will have deduced that a certain object is useful to achieve an objective, but the game will not let you take it until you have followed a certain (absurd) order, wasting your time.

Some situations become insane when you have to click on a spot for the game then allow you to fetch the needed item that you already knew where it was, only for later tell you that you need another item that was in the exact same place where the previous one was but with which you couldn't interact, making you go from one place to another several times with the sole intention of wasting your time.

Also, filling a garbage bag and having to go to another place to empty it THREE. FUCKING. TIMES. IN A ROW. (This also occurs in at least three different situations)

Moving around the house induces you to madness. To get to the kitchen can I only go through my room? OH REALLY??
I am not going to elaborate more on how the layout of the house does not make fucking sense because this review is already kilometric.

Well, summarizing, This is a game whose main value is not the artistic aspect, it's that practically the good art and the animations pitifully carry the dead weight of a terrible gameplay and an absurd writing. I know this is a way too long review (maybe a bit to harsh?) but the funny thing is that I'm still leaving a lot of things unsaid. 2/5 Poor.

Ah, silly of me, I almost forgot: THE FUCKING TIME BARS!! WHOSE FUCK'S IDEA IS IT TO HAVE YOU WAITING ALMOST FOR 30 SECONDS TO DO A TRIVIALITY? WHAT IS THIS MADNESS?!

This is my review of this game, Grind-Walkthrough Collection

I may update this if I survive to a good scene, but this game design behavior should not be tolerated

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Art is beautiful.
The story setting is not the best, but bearable.
But story progression just isn't there.
    Gameplay is awful.
    Translation needs way more attention.
Click-fest could be better if not for the grind mentality.

And of course Skipping leads to Main Menu. What a genius implementation

    GRIND GRIND GRIND

Fair warning there's lot of grind in this game. Even then I played the game till the latest version of day 23.

This review will be biased* as I am a huge fan of milf centric games in general. On top of that Inusen art, the very art whose porn comic is now my childhood nostalgia (teen I mean). Even if grind killed me several times, I just resurrected, drank a redbull and played it again.

    In the end... ... ...

    IT'S FUCKIN' WORTH IT

Yes, you heard right. The H scenes are well worth your time. Art is as always just so sexy and hot. This game despite its huge downside deserve to be played atleast once just for its sex scenes. Yes, dialogue and grammar is bad sometimes but as a non-english myself it doesn't really matter. Debra >>>

All games are awful, they are literally unenjoyable, the dialogue is bad, there is no real story and gameplay is one of the most boring, confusing, frustrating and tediouses I have ever seen.

All the art is so beautiful and every girl is very sexy, I wish someone else made the game but the artist was the same then it could be awesome, but sadly there is no skill in game making here just the art is skillful.

Most people will probably only play the "main game" and not the other small games but I would say that you should atleast try the other ones too they don´t take much time too download so you can see that the Developer isn´t really good at writing or normal game mechanics.

I love this game. Yes, there is a grind here that can scare away. But everything is solved thanks to the guys who write walkthrough. The women in the game are amazing. Anna is especially pleased in the last parts.

    drloveman

Too grindy and writing is bad. Focus more on pacing of progression and stop with the weird side quests. Debra is hot as hell and deserves more screen time. 90% of other characters are either boring or serve no purpose other than to send the player on lame side quests and tasks.

    Oof...

Usually I try and play all the content a game has to offer, but I had to tap out after about 30 minutes.

Some of the art is pretty good, but the amount of clicking to get to the fun stuff is just not worth it. I don't mind a game that has a slow build, but this doesn't feel slow, it feels tedious.

Poor writing and bad game design makes this one not worth your time. Too bad, he or she is a talented artist.

The art and animations are great, so great that it is worth the patience to deal with the unnecessarily time wasting and totally boring/unrelevant actions/chores. The developer should stop paywalling as pushing for subs NEVER WORKS. People are more likely to support projects when they feel no pressure to support it, once you start to paywall stuff, believe me it's not helping your project, you are getting less support than you would have because it puts off most people. I was there when Summertime Saga first released (even tho I no longer like it) and thoroughout the development it was available with zero BS and the dev earns around a million annually now so stop thinking that you need BS like these to get more support. I have been here long enough to know it is doing the opposite effect.

    TSOTH:
I know the game is supposed to go with the days cause its for a linear story and gets more easy, but i really like choosing the character i wanted to improve the relationship.
    • To much interactions, doing the coffee feels weird, couldn´t i just press it.
    • The Preferences: there is no Skip dialogue button, would really help.
    • The HUD feels weird:The "inventory" menu dont seem easy to navigate also i spammed alot of my cursor in this game to see what was clickable, i know the cursor lights up a bit.
    • Freedomless, nothing to explore, i wish i could do other things, "farm" skills or farm money.

    exirock

So from recent events, i will review the game TSOTH and the dev,

So the game is decent, could be more engaging for sure, the chores is a waste of time just to say the update had x amount of minutes, the scenes aswell for animatios are decent, the latest update it was just a workless update cause he only had to do a the rest of the animation he left people hanging last update. Not much can be sayed cause i cant really say its a game when majority of the game is time waster.

Now has for the Dev itself Inusen, this dev has attitude problems, he starting to show heavy sign of greedy with this last update, patreons are literaly being forced in a certain way to see extra scenes in upcoming updates, scenes that should be for all patreons are now locked behind a paywall of 70$ which is ridicolously stupid, its a full game price for a tiny animation, it literaly says that lower tiers money is not enough for him, you are not worth his time, he just now banned me from his discord for a comment non threating only an opinion and he banned me, but its not only me who got to expirience this childish behaviour, alot of people like patreons got banned just from reviewing and criticizing the updates, this dev is not worth a penny.

He today sayed that the more higher tier the more content, the higher tiers for him is 70$ which not everyone has that money to invest every freaking month for a tiny update with a extra gif, locking ingame scenes behind paywall is ridicolous and shouldnt be done, cause lower tiers are supporters at the end of the day either he likes it or not, if he intends to one day to release it has full game one day what he gonna do with those scenes? i will tell you he will either make a premium pack for extra 20$ you get to unlock the rest of the scenes of the price of this game will be 70$ which is not even worth that much when you can go to dlsite and invest in full quality games.

(Be carefull if you intend to patreon, cause if he sees you interacting in this forum where it gave him the advertisment and money he has today, he will ban you from discord and patreon and you can lose your money)

    Faahresc

The game (Secret of The House) is not interesting, it's just all about clicking here and there. There are no different mechanical or dynamic actions in the game. There are only small puzzles and errands in the game. Doing the same things over and over again without any different unique tasks is extremely boring, the same thing applies to the puzzles, they are not unique at all. Only the items change in the errands other than that everything you do is a copy of each other in each task. The only good thing is that it looks good visually, other than that, it's very weak as a game.

Only tried one of the bundle, If I Do, and it was easily the worst game I've ever played on this site. It draws you in with the excellent Warner Bros / Disney art, but that is its one and only redeeming quality.

Buggy as hell, godawful translations with dialogue that would be horrendous even if it was translated properly (In one of the I believe 4 sexual scenes, the MC tells a woman "Rape it!" as a way of asking for a blowjob), ugly UI, and the one gameplay element is WAITING. Seriously, seeing everything the game has to offer takes over two hours of waiting, for maybe, not exaggerating, 15 seconds of rough animation. Normally I would say its just a matter of opinion and people like different things, but that game was so bad I kind of think it should be taken down, removed from the site. No one else should have to play through that time-gating nightmare.

    0/5.

The Secret of the House has pretty artwork and an intriguing story, but it's super confusing! You need to do obscure things to advance. The chapters are released as 2 separate games. The game lacks clear hints to help the player advance.

The house layout is stupid like a maze. The requirement to walk through the bedroom to reach the kitchen is bad game design.

There are also minor annoyances such as the fade effect when you switch rooms is too slow.

The gameplay is overall below average which is a shame, because the art is so good.
  20. 3.00 star(s)

    SparkCarrot

The secret of the house, until day 13, is a game with very polished art that emulates the old Disney style but also has really good animations, but suffers from one of the most common problems of point and click games.

Sometimes, there is no logic behind the things you have to do, the places where you have to go or the people you have to talk to. So, for example you have to look and click everyplace to literally find a tiny needle (is under your neighbor's table), or a second worm, just for the fishing pole without a hint. The tool store and the grocery store barely help.

Particularly frustrating is navigating your house. Is a total mess. Why do you need to go across your room to get into the kitchen? the halls don't make any sense either. There is barely any difference between halls or some reference points.

This game is just average because the art, without it would be awful. If you have the patience to play this messy game, if you have that, you will be rewarded with fantastic art and good animations.
