I have nothing to do with the development of the games and fundamentally respect all work, whether by individual developers or teams who seriously want to earn more than just a few dollars on Patreon.
I must admit, though, that with the latest updates and new games, I might find one or two games among the "offers" on the first three pages that suit my taste.
I like VN or a good sandbox game every now and then, as long as it doesn't devolve into absurd grinding. And interesting new 3D models that stand out from the "usual suspects." But above all, I like a realistic, aesthetic style combined with a good story and, of course, erotic/porn content.
Hentai style has always been in a league of its own.
And of course, there are genres that, in conjunction with various fetishes, also lead to exaggerations...I can also understand that as a stylistic device.
Last week, I tried out and downloaded four or five initially interesting games for testing...all three failed for me...the usual characters, strong exaggerations that didn't fit the otherwise rather realistic setup.
I'm open to any kind of representation of fetishes, practices, or whatever...but I'm having a hard time with the sheer number of games that strike me as interesting, but then, just by looking at the models, immediately "urge" me to move on to the next one...
An example that illustrates my point:
A game with a story that seems quite interesting, and the preview images aren't too bad either...so, just give it a try.
Realistic setting (exactly the way I prefer it), realistically drawn MC...and then comes the first female character...a 3D character drawn as an 18-22 year-old girl with, let's call them, the biggest, most powerful boobs and an ass twice as wide as her waist...the second female character, again in complete contrast to the entire setting, with a bust from hell. Shapeless, unaesthetic, and completely out of context, and simply not fitting the setting.
WHY ?
Are these legalization reasons to circumvent laws when 3D characters are portrayed so exaggeratedly and unrealistically, as if they were aliens in the actual setting?
Is it simply a preference? If so, okay, no problem...but beyond any reality.
Is it a deliberate stylistic device to distinguish oneself?
I'm just noticing very clearly at the moment that more and more new games are becoming conspicuous by these total exaggerations...and thus disqualifying me from any Patreon support, as I currently support at least 8 projects.
I like crazy stories or settings that might be disturbing to others, but only if the female characters look "normal" and the male MCs or NPCs don't have "blue whale cocks."
I wonder, with the sheer number of games I don't like...are their fans in the majority, and I belong to a complete minority?
What's your opinion on this?
