Disruption has some strengths in its writing and image selection. The scenes I did unlock were spicy. I also appreciate that there are many options to shape preferences for domination, submission, and sexuality, letting players shape their character.
The biggest thing that kills this game is that it ticks the box on almost every cardinal sin for bad UX:
- Players have to navigate through the world via connected, branching waypoints (from some parts of the house, you'll have to make 3 clicks just to leave the house)
- Players are constantly blocked from progressing a page until a delayed link appears on the screen, such as during every dream sequence.
- Wardrobe systems... This one will require you to navigate to your room, open your wardrobe, change into whatever bullshit is required for a quest, do the quest, and then change back into a school uniform or else you won't be allowed to go back to school.
- The game tries to offer you a Tips section for when you run out of content, but you'll still often find yourself without a tip for what to do next (and it's pretty lame that the game is designed in such a way that the player is so often confused)
In addition to the hell mentioned above, there are also quite a few bugs, such as the ones that cause certain scenes to replay even when you've already seen them, which adds to the click fatigue.
Overall, I'm torn between 2 and 3 stars for the incredibly frustrating user experience, but settling on 3 because I did enjoy the story (when the game let me see it).
