Ren'Py - Dissonance [v4.1] [Glephy]

I'd say one of the best Ntr games right now. It's divinely written, really. Characters feel realistic and they act in understandable ways. The introduction of sounds in animations, in the latest patches, made it a fantastic game really. It's a bit slow burn, but there's way slower stuff on the market. Honestly? Almost perfect. Likes a bit of background music, that would make it slightly better, and more sounds in the other scenes (In v4). I'm extremely optimistic. This might be one of the best ntr games in general.

I normally don't write reviews or post at all here but this game was so good I just wanted to post something to give the creator some encouragement. I picked this game up on a whim and it ended up being one of the best games I've played, easily in my top three. I could write an essay on what I liked about this game, but after going through so much NTR works, hell, even seeing NTR games that had a similar premise with the video call gimmick, this one is one of my favorites simply because of how all the drama is internal focused. There is no tired blackmail like so many other NTR games do, it feels so refreshing to read a game where the NTR is simply driven from the horrors of actually being in a relationship with someone else. The title 'Dissonance' is very fitting, and there is a very massive focus on the lines of thinking of each of the characters, to the point where you can't stop yourself from empathising with their struggles, and maybe even relating a bit as well. An NTR game lives or dies by the strength of its internal monologues, and so far this game has done a great job.

I've seen some complaints that the pace of this is too slow, but honestly, with writing this good, I'm fine with the writer going as slow as they like. There are so many NTR games I've played where it just jumps into a spam of sex scenes and by then it's hard to maintain interest since there's just no weight or tension to it anymore. I've seen complaints where people didn't like how different the characters were from the posts that they made on the forum, but honestly, this added to the realism. Obviously you are going to be way more cocky and arrogant online than you are in person, you have that mask of anonymity to shield you. I basically just hope the writer just sticks to their vision and doesn't let outside comments influence them too much since what he's been doing so far has been very good. There are some minor nitpicks I have here and there, like some typos and bugs, but they are easy to ignore considering the game's strength.

This game is criminally underrated and I hope one day it gets more popular as one of the best WEGs on this site. I will always be looking forward to every update.

The writing in this game is outstanding. I only play for NTR, and skip all the texts usually, but this game hits right in the feels. almost shed a tear as well.

Exceptional - if you're into that sort of thing.

It's a slow burn NTR game with compelling writing that leans into the minutia of a day to day relationship and the temptations within. And honestly labeling it a slow burn is a bit unjust - the developer weaves multiple strands together so there is almost always something interesting to be had.

The g/g content is (imo) the shining star of the whole project, and I don't mean that to denigrate the other storylines, but rather to elevate how impressive it is. The male storylines seem to center around douchebags attempting to corrupt the women, which is fine and better than most. It's far more interesting and seductive seeing her get taken down by a woman... and from the writing, I get the sense the developer feels that way as well.

Anyway, there are a thousand games that provide quick, cheap thrills and that's wonderful. It's sadly rare to find a game that takes the time to build characters and have them act in a way that makes sense narratively. It's even more rare to find one that that features NTR and more rare even still to find one featuring g/g content. It's a unicorn, and already one of my top 3 ongoing projects on this site.

In two words - wasted potential

TLDR: Play for 60 in game days and then drop to avoid disappointment. Spoiler, it's EXTREME slow pace, but leads in to bloated lesbian NTR from that point onward. Seeing where it leads to, there is just no way of recommending it sadly

The game had an exceptional writing, great characters, an interesting premise, nice arts, but... until V4 update, what threw first 3 out of the window

Don't know what happened to the dev, but from that point onward, he became just super indecisive about what and how he wanted to write this story.
It was shown A LITTLE bit in the previous versions, and I had hopes he will fix that... he didn't. It seems under the influence of a loud minority of ppl, he decided to suddenly turn this story in to a lesbian NTR game, changing his initial course and making up crutches in attempts to fit that in to story. Spoiler again - it turned latest game days in to bloated incoherent mess with sudden lesbian focus for reasons "Well, just because".

Now, interesting story turned in quality to a lesbian fanfic lvl. Dialogues became bloated and stretched out with no much sense and immersion, scenes are mediocre.
What is wrong with lesbian NTR? Nothing, if this game was like this from the beginning. But... from the beginning, this game was interesting. Now, "Main male antagonist" is just another cuck for his female friend, who seems to will gather harem for herself, unless dev will switch his mind again and change curse for the 3-4th time, making this EVEN MORE of an inconsistent mess than it's turned out to be

Other two girls who is present in the game... their stories are not bad. For now at least. Since one of them is lesbian too, it's just a matter of time it seems until dev decide to turn the last girl in to lesbian too

It's missing lesbian tag, but if you are in to that - this game might be for your liking.

I really liked the mistery path so far (V0.4), although I was dissapointed on the full path, because I was imagining more. Don't get me wrong I love the girlxgirl love, but a bit of male-female activity would've been great.

From the "texting" VNs I've played, this is easily the best. It makes you care about the characters through a slow build, and all the "moments" are so impactful, no matter how small or big. The VN lets you choose between mystery mode and omniscient mode - I chose mystery. The thing this VN does that no other texting one does is that you are part of a forum where "certain things" are discussed, for lack of a better term. It allows the player to see more of what is happening without simply revealing it, which most texting VNs don't do.

It's simple, and it works. Great VN!

Great setting, can be replayed. Models are great.
mystery mode will confuse you with the characters if you don't pay attention.
A bit disappointed with only female-female NTR, I hope we get F-M NTR content ...
P.S.. few hair styles for Marissa looked amazing.. few don't... but it keeps changing.. not a fan of her hair style with flora in chapter80-82

This game is cinema. While it's very technically simple, the writing and corruption progression of the characters are done extremely well and is very believable. Despite how slow it might feel, each version so far has delivered very good and tangible payoff that it doesn't make you feel like you've wasted your time.

The writing is incredible — it genuinely feels like you’re reading real conversations between real people, unlike most phone games that end up with cringy and unrealistic messages.

The animations are great too (there aren’t many, but honestly, that doesn’t bother me at all). The slow burn with the girlfriend is also very well paced — it’s not like she’s shy one day and suddenly a completely different person the next. Everything feels natural, and the progression makes sense.

The only cons I can think of are:

1. I really wish the “forum UI” was better. It’s a bit hard to keep track of what happened before/after, and scrolling up and down to find where I left off can be a pain.
2. Since I prefer playing strictly from the MC’s perspective, I wish there were a few more things to explore. For example, the unfinished “internet” feature would definitely help, as well as more forum messages or maybe even a private inbox system. It would make the whole experience feel more complete.

That said, the cons don’t take away from the overall experience at all. This is easily a 5-star game for me. It feels fresh, well-written, and genuinely enjoyable.

Very pleasantly surprised with how engaging I found this considering this is not a genre I'd be normally fond of. The writing has no right to make me so interesting in characters and situations where the MC is physically so removed from the story.

It's ok. It's annoying that the game is a long distance relationship simulator. Except you can't text back. Most games bother in creating alternative responses even if they don't alter significantly the story. It's just meant to be engaging.

Also the whole game is behind a Computer and you can't change the background?

The writing is so good and makes the game feel so real and believable. The renders are good, the girls are hot. Do yourself a favor and play the game on Mystery mode. Though I'll say I'm glad I read the reviews first because your enjoyment of this game is about going in with the right expectations.

It's more of a texting simulator (at least in Mystery mode, I haven't yet tried the other mode where you can see everyone's POV) and the story unravels as you play through it. I'm not even a fan of NTR-type games normally, but the writing and slow burn feel of this game makes it so good.

Great game, its quite slow with the maincast, but it'll probably be worth it, dont really have anything to say, the video scenes having sound made the scenes way better, characters are likeable. The only thing that kind of made me sad was that playing in omniscient pov did not give you some scenes i was really interested in during the partial pov

This game has no right to make me care about these characters! I thought this would be a quickie, but no. I grew to like and understand the characters blah blah blah

Anyway, the visuals are great, I found a single typo in playing for hours. 5/5 Would be disappointed by how it's actually good again

So for a really enticing story with characters I care about. The writing and pacing are excellent and I cant wait to see what happens next. One of the key strengths of the game so far is its ability to portray the characters as being more than just sex objects. They each have their own struggles, virtues and flaws, and its going to make the NTR when it does happen even more exciting. Im really rooting for them and I hope that whatever path these characters walk, with its pitfalls and heartbreaks, that it brings them to a place of growth and happiness.

Just played the game up to date till V 0.2 and fuck this game is so fucking hot.
I played it as the Hidden playthrough, and just seeing how the girls get slowly tricked and used is so fucking hot.
And ready through the plan of the bulls and then seeing them come to fruition is so hot.
Can't wait for the next update

Just finished v2 and I enjoyed it, the writing is solid and it's a slow burn which takes time to build the relationships- always a positive for me. Only real downside is that the best friend and sister don't feel like ntr since the mc has zero romantic interest in them but I am enjoying the main relationship

Didn't think this would keep my interest because of the game being based on text messages, but to my surprise its very well done. Being able to see in the group chat how the they are planning to deceive them so they trust as a good friend, then take advantage once the opportunity presents itself.
