Just gathering opinions.

(this doesn't include v0.1 builds or demos where sexual acts are not featured yet)

I would like to hear argument for or against before deciding on my vote.

it depends. the sfw need to be erotic and include romance at least.
so I dont mind playing a game where I know theres some nice romance and of course 18+ novels, so its not just kids stuff.
even if theres no hardcore stuff.

I don't think they're a big deal when the site doesn't focus on discovery to begin with. Since theres no quality control, mtl titles, 0.1 betas, endless broke english daz3d vn's are allowed its difficult to find games that do not suck and nsc tag only adds to that problem.
I don't get why you'd allow games unless they're heavy on sexual themes, they probably get very little attention from the gamerbase.

I voted yes but would be fine either way. Here’s why…

As it stands now the Adult Gaming Industry and the sites that host such games are rather niche, a fringe which is slowly growing and gaining acceptance but is decidedly not part of the mainstream. The fact that F95 hosts such games, with or without the consent of the developers, keeps it in an isolated pocket of the web. The developers may not be happy about their games being here but don’t have a lot of clout (sorry devs) so there’s not much they can do (this ignores any arguments for F95 as a marketing tool/advertisement).

If F95 takes the step to host SFW, perhaps more mainstream titles from developers who have publishing deals with larger companies, there is the chance that it will bring more scrutiny from people with plenty of money to burn on making life difficult for people in any number of ways.

However, if we are simply asking if games are required to contain NSFW bits to be posted on F95 then I think it would be disappointing to exclude games because they don’t have a sex scene in the story. I love visual novels that give me choices and allows me to “roleplay” a character - Angel Wings is a perfect example of a dating sim that is enjoyable and doesn’t need sex to tell a story. It’s here and I’d like to see more like it on F95.

I voted the third option, as I assume it is the option to keep things as they are currently, which is what works the best imho.
Most SFW games wouldn't fit here, but then there are romance/dating VNs which are something I love, with or without nsfw.

More elaboration is needed, games like Haydee, Drumpf Rise up, 9 months with ellie. Are all very fetish oriented and sexual but they have the No Sexual Tag and I believe they belong here.

The rest though that are just standard dating sims like DDLC where the most you'd get is a kiss should just be removed.

I'd say "yes" and "I prefer the status quo" are ultimately the same answer. This website's description states it is the host of "adult" games in general, not just "porn" games. Adult games don't need sex scenes to be "adult"; they can tackle on more sentitive topics that may not be suited for everyone, like drug usage, bullying and whatnot. Of course I'm not saying all SFW games should have that kind of grimdark content to be accepted here, but something like Katawa Shoujo is perfectly reasonable tone-wise to be here, even if the devs had decided not to put any sex scene in it. Or something like Lovesick Darlings, which doesn't have any sex scenes but seems to go on a more mature path than many NSFW hentai games here.

Yes Subverse I think counts as that
I guess they got a higher budget than most but when I think AAA I'm not thinking just budget, I'm thinking quality in every aspect and from what I've seen Subverse sucks in the gameplay department.

AAA used to mean "high budget, high quality". I guess these days it means "overinflated budget, crappy quality, full of bugs, might end up being fixed 3 years later"

Anyway I guess I'm just mad that they poached Mendez to work on their shitty game that I have no interest in playing

As long as there is ecchi it should be allowed even if there is no explicit sex.

Now what is ecchi to non weebs? Basically sexually suggestive content that one could already fap to even if doesn't devolve into full blown sex and nudity, like showing panties, nipples, or similar without going into full nudity or sex.

But full on non-sexual games would be confusing to be honest.

Mostly the same reasoning for me.

SFW games accepted so far stand on the romance/dating side, which make them somehow fit with the other games. It's just that the lewd is implicit instead of being explicit. But is there really a need to explicitly appeal for them ? And, of course, games where the lewd wouldn't even be implicit still don't have their place here.

There's already enough works for the few moderators, and already enough drama with the "it's this kink / no it isn't" and "this game is shit", no need to add more by starting to accept a bigger range of games. Plus, this would just increase even more the forum attraction, therefore lead to more members, more needs for moderators and uploaders, and more headaches for Sam.
