The more the game keeps me engaged and involved, the less inclined I am to skip stuff. I don't get on well with VNs.

Well if it's a fun game I'll play it. Sandbox type stuff where you have to go to work 10 times and each shift requires you to go to your room and click on bed pass the day to then buy binoculars then spy on your neighbour congrats you've unlocked 1 picture of boob I usually skip

• I play like a normal game (campaign,history) and I don't care to "work" to see the sex.
• I go straight to the sex scenes, because a game is a game, and porn is porn.

There are very few NSFW games that actually have fun gameplay, so I tend to keep each to their own

So far I only had two exceptions: Summer Clover, because the dialogue was actually funny and I'm way too easy to be swayed with resource management; and Subverse for a while, because I like bullet hell space games

If the mechanics contribute to the arousal the story and images provide, I'll definitely play the game. But if the mechanics are just there to generate playtime and annoy me, I'll try to get a mod and only watch the gallery. Unfortunately most games are the latter.

If there is a game to play i play it. But many games rather feel like a walking simulator between the scenes. Usually i skip those. I do not use gallery saves or sandbox modes... Without a game i became bored fast.

There needs to be some grind in the games. Indie devs can't crank out 500 renders in a month or 50,000 words of story (unless its soulless AI generated)

Personally I do not enjoy VN's, however the gameplay can't be so bad that they suck the life out of me, all my favourite games had gameplay:

-Kamidori Alchemy meister
-Kichikuou Rance (and also the most well known sengoku Rance)
-Big bang age Daibanchou
-REBF (and all battlefuck derivates)

I also have clear preferences regarding english origin games:

-A struggle with sin
-Debasing Grounds
-Hentai high school plus (I know this one is kinda like an open project but I always end up coming back to this game at some point)

I just want to enjoy a game and yeah it can be kinky with high input from the sex aspect like battlefuck games, or it can be sex based during gameplay and story, but in the end the game needs to be fairly fun and enjoyable and the tiny mechanics can add a lot.

If I wanted to see just a gallery why bother playing a game, just go see porn or some H comics.
