Does a flash game type of artstyle have any appeal today?

I'm getting closer to launching the first iteration of my game soon and I'm absolutely losing my nerves. Suddenly, I got so many doubts regarding my artstyle which is very cartoonish and flash game-esque. Will it appeal to the gamers? Is it gonna be mocked or dismissed for being juvenile or lowskilled or inferior? I'm so anxious right now. I just wanted to vent.
Venting over.

I really like this style, but regardless of the type and skill level of your art, it's impossible to please everyone. Don't let yourself be pressured by other people's opinions, and stay true to your vision.

Yes.
If your game gets good enough attention, then also the attention of egocentric whiners & idiots.

Like just today I got alerted for a message in an older-game thread, caused by some idiot who felt the need to let the world know that he regards the game as ugly.
As if we cared.

also: if the art is all they complain about, then you're good.

Brother, I know how it can seem. Hours and hours of lonely work sometimes make us question if we're doing the right thing, if we're on the right path.

But what I took away from the time I spent developing my visual novel were the hours of satisfaction from creating something. I was able to disconnect a bit from reality, be creative, think of solutions, and develop them.

So, I believe that if you liked what you did, then this type of question shouldn't really be asked. I know you're looking for approval, of course, you want recognition for what you've done, but I think if you gave your best, that's what matters, bro.

I hope you succeed, and personally, I think your art style, at least if it's based on this, is cool. It's interesting. So, let's keep it up.
