...whose job might be or actually is a bounty hunter or a local sheriff of sorts and whose hat matters to her very much as her favorite item of attire, I think.

I have seen the title screen of the game flit by but cannot recall what it is.

I found it eventually. Thank y'all.

The game is entitled 'Maleus Maleficarum'. And it has a very pleasant 'old-timer-style' to it, in the bargain.
