Had to delete some stuff to keep my anonymity but basically, I tried to download a game using datanodes. Download started with the file having similar to original name but instead of a normal 600 mb size, it had 30 mb size which was the first red flag. And even though it looked like an exe file like original with extension also being an exe, it was not recognized as an exe file, second red flag.

Then I got the virus alert. This website is literally spreading virus as you download. You may think it is maybe the file itself but I downloaded again using mega. No alerts whatsoever. 600mb as advertised.

Please stop using this website for your file sharing.

Hmm, I had a bit of difficulties, but I found the game and tried to download the file. The site is relatively slow, so it's still downloading, but it presented me as download the right file name, with the right size.

Are you sure that you clicked on the right link for the download, and not some ads?
It should lead you to this page:

Nope. You know how it reopens the actual site in a new tab and redirects the current page to an add. That happened as the same time as download. The name was similar I assumed it was the right file since I couldn't see the size in the download window.

Also, if I clicked the wrong link, there are many others who will click the wrong link. This is coming from a software engineer who spent last 2 decades, downloading shit from shady sites online.
