Down On The Farm is an adult 3D RPG created in an immersive world with a focus on realtime gameplay, including breeding and relationship elements.
I feel like I should give a bullet list of features and content that will be coming at some point in the future, but I don’t want to overpromise and never deliver. Keeping that in mind, I’ll try to keep it brief and avoid mentioning things that are too far in the future. However, there are some high-level goals (and trade-offs) that I want to mention:
Games have always meant interaction and presence to me. Playing a game just to watch something happen is like bad porn with extra steps. I want to feel like I’m there, like I’m a real part of the action, no matter what kind of game it is. This means realtime gameplay and a 1st person PoV, which definitely has its tradeoffs.
One big implication is that you need to be pretty comfortable in the body that you’re inhabiting. I don’t want to guarantee that there will be crazy character customization, but there should at least be options to start the game as a male, female, or futa (with possible changes to size/attributes later on). And being “in the action” in an adult game means that you need to be pretty comfy with the NPCs as well, so you should be able to choose the gender of the NPCs too. This one is a bit of a beast (pun intended ) and needs to be considered in pretty much all aspects of the design.
Of course, this brings up the “animation explosion” that seems to plague all breeding games. To help mitigate that, all of the NPCs will be fairly humanoid in shape and scale (feel free to think of your own lizard joke...). I would love as wide a variety of NPCs as possible but high quality interactions need to take priority. The goal is to keep the animations mostly reusable between characters so that content development time can be spent on new characters, positions, etc. instead of a thousand versions of each animation.
Enough text for now, here are a few sample shots of the first characters and the environment:
Thanks for taking a look, and if you have any feedback or criticism, I’d love to hear it!
