This review for version 0.1.3
So I don't normally review games that are under version 0.3 as I feel that it's both unfair to both the game and reviewer. With that said, considering the cast they're advertising and the two previous 5-star reviews (and also lack of good new games), I decided to give this a try........and was disappointed.
The game gets one star for the artwork, which, while not special, does a good job of capturing the appearances of the characters they're borrowing.
The game also gets a freebie star for gameplay. It's currently way too early in the game's development to be able to tell what the gameplay is and if it will be fun so I'll give the game the benefit of the doubt on that.
Now for the biggest negatives, the story and characters. The story is rocky at best, it sets up the premise/mystery. "Where are we? This feels like a sort of dream world" but then doesn't do anything more than that. The Player Character just sort of wonders, with no clear goals or objectives in mind. Everyone is trapped in their own "dream world" with only the PC able to move between them.
The dream world seems to have some kind of mental effect on the characters, and you're given the choice to either take advantage of them (Corruption) or help them (love).
This leads into the big problem with the game, characters do not act like themselves. Everyone is written to be a porn star version of themselves and not a hot porn star, more of those cringe porn movie versions where the actor is like "I've got a special "big" delivery for you."
I was shocked to find I was sleeping and getting oral sex scenes 10 seconds after meeting every character on the love route. It's literally like "Thanks for helping me, let me fuck you and please don't go baby." They're all basically like that. Picking romance just seems to give you a more submissive (as in you the player are the sub) version of the sex scene.
It's lazy and cheap game design, to milk off a fandom without actually bothering to learn about or write characters from that fandom. The creator is clearly just writing these people from a small wiki entry about them and not doing any research.
I can already tell this writing problem is not going to get better since the creator has already added like 7 girls (all of the RWBY main girls, Starfire, Yourchi and Tornado from One Punch man). I have no doubt that Raven and other Bleach girls are coming, which means this game is going to have the classic problem of having a huge girl cast with none of them having any story scenes, and their sex scenes end up just being quick in and outs with no build-ups.
I highly recommend the creators keep the cast small and focus on those characters by fleshing out the plot of this story and giving them meaningful interactions and things to do, rather than just quick sex scenes. In the meantime though I do not recommend this game.
