VN - Others - Completed - Dreamed Date [v1.0] [DPMaker/Diives]

So let me get this out of the way now,. Yes, I am a Diives fanboy. I love the animation and skits of his universe. Now having said that yeah game is short. finished it within 15mins... It still carried the Diives quality animation that I've come to expect. But also the length as well. In previous posts and reviews you can see a walkthrough. But I had fun just picking different choices.

As for a very short Newgrounds game, it meets its quota

As pirolance mentioned, there are 5 endings, one without a sex scene:

1 - Shoking Payback = Dream -> Shocking Experience
2 - Desperate Liar = Nightmare -> Don't wanna remember -> Swear not to kill her
3 - Nightmare Trap = Nightmare -> Don't wanna remember -> Can't trick me -> Show me what a dream girl can do
4 - Real Life Date = Nightmare -> Intense night -> You're my memorable dream-girl
5 - Dream Savior = Nightmare -> Don't wanna remember -> Can't trick me -> Why so scared? -> I need to return

This is less of a "game" and feels more like a "proof of concept," because honestly there is no game. It is a set of questions you do in order and you get one of the endings and that's it, nothing else. A quick 5 minutes and you're done. A completely short and pointless idea that has been padded with loading times that don't need to be there. Every time you go back to the main menu it has to reload everything, and then you start the game and load it, and then you go through all the text over and over and over to figure out the endings. Your reward is really just the animations themselves in a gallery which is just one animation per scene and thats it, a handful at most.

Everything about this feels like it's supposed to be a test and there was gonna be an announcement over the horizon of a fully fleshed out game in planning to use these characters or something. Even the fact that they got so many people to pitch into this project from writing to voice acting, etc. Nope, just that's it. A severe let down that honestly felt like a huge waste of time trying to figure all the combinations needed for the 5 endings to get fuck all for it. It wouldn't be so bad if it didn't play so slowly to get back to the main menu and go for another attempt. A few animated loops with no variety other than clothes, nude, and cum, and nothing else.

Surprisingly dissapointing, especially coming from an artist I follow closely on Newgrounds. I'm not the one to complain about the length of a game, as long as the content is good, but Dreamed Date is an unsatisyingly short game, which barely delivers anything of quality.

First, there are the loading times, which trigger every time you click on a button; there's no caching of the illustrations, so the game reloads everything every time. Not a big issue at all, but something that could have been easily avoided. Then, you have a short VN sequence where you just select a choice or two, then get down to the sex scene. No story whatsoever, so that section is just a waste of time to sloppily set up the context of the scene. Finally there's only one pose; with or with no clothes, with or without cum. That's it. The game then boots you to the main menu, where you do all that again for another girl.

The point I'm making is that I don't understand what this game is trying here. Is this a pilot for another one of Diives' animated shorts? An ad for a future game? Because if that's the case, you'd be better off directly checking out his Newgrounds and select the stuff you want to watch, rather than playing this. There's nothing here, it's empty. Any short on his NG account is longer and higher quality than this. There's a guy credited in the game for the story, but apart from wanking it during the entire production, I sincerely don't see what his contribution brings to the game.

And yet, they took the time and effort to hire voice actors for something this short and empty. What were their priorities, exactly? There is no story, barely any adult content you couldn't find easily on Diives' NG account, no gameplay... This isn't even an ad, it's empty. I can understand, if they're a new dev team, they might not want to bite off more than they can chew, but they shouldn't have taken the saying this far if that's the case. It's not worth your time.
