the only thing that keeps me peeping on this thread is the captain's log,i kinda missed the guy,hope i can see him around doin what he do best..

Captain's Log, day 2342
Crew spent their time today cleaning the ship while docked in one of the local Space Ports. The Gumdrops Void continues to pulsate on the outer rims like a puckered asshole, every so often farting out new promises and 'news'. Below waits some of the Discord, eagerly listening out for the bells like those crazed town folk in Silent Hill.
Speaking of Silent Hill, The discord is a ghost town. Eerily quiet for long stretches of time. Every so often one of the 'golden boys' pips up or the odd person asking 'Where iz game m8?' But it's rather strange seeing such a desolate Discord for someone with so many interested in the game. (Considering both Patreons and site supporters) the place should be a hive. But I digress, that's just an observation.

One of the brave new cadets, qsad dared venture deep enough into the Void and bring out all of the Pinups. A risky adventure to say the least, many suspected he would go mad from the encounter, but he managed to return to us a large bounty of goods collected over from the website. As a result, he's been promoted to help the Quartermaster.
So, what fair report could I give to assess the pinups?
...Well, they are pretty good.
The pinups generally look well made, the art is decently impressive enough. (Though the weird dutch angle thing is not as avant-garde as Gumdrops thinks).
Other all, the pinups get a good pass...And that's the problem.
The pinups alone aren't selling the project, but as they are the only indicator we have available to the quality of work actually being produced, well...Aside from looking a little nicer, there's not much indication it'll be any different that the previous updates...In a time when we really need to see something knock the ball out of the Park, we're seeing good shots but no home runs. (*Cough* I'm also highly suspicious many of said pinups aren't in-game anyway).
So, many of the crew speak in hushed whispers about my 'interview' with Gumdrops. "SEE?!!" Joshua Tree screams from the Ivory Tower, "YOU CAN GET A HOLD OF HIM!" Yes, well, I suppose every so often you can see an albino crocodile out in the wild as well...it's just a little 'rarer' than we'd like to say the least.
Numerous accusations continue to fly around, many of which, as a Captain of integrity, I cannot endorse without genuine evidence...*cough* Major Wanker is still to deliver the mystical evidence on the supposed $50 dollar secret room.
BUT...My interview with Gumdrops left the crew increasingly puzzled as it went on, (and myself), Whether you believe Gumdrops or not (and really, you should not be taking this man at his word anymore if you still are you crazy fuck), Gumdrops obviously stands by his words on his business strategy. Therefore, his business strategy should be looked at:-
-Why does he need to train staff himself and run things in an actual office when 90% of devs simply use reliable staff online? (it's not exactly like production could be much slower anyway).
-Does needing all your staff on-hand physically there with you in a office really justify the production of what is a glorified VN novel?
-Why. Can't. He. Just. Settle. On. A. Fucking. Date.
(I mean really? After all this time he can't give more than a 'any date given is just speculation', can't even give a ball park answer?)
I could go on, but let's face it...these logs are getting harder and harder to write. The Gumdrops Voids continues with mush-mouthed promises and the occasional piping up from the minions to praise Gumdrops like a Lovecraftian cult, but really, there's so little to talk about now.
I mean, I write these things to entertain you but...fuck.... I mean, there's better games out there with more interesting things to talk about than this burned out wreck.
Gumdrops promises this update will show it's all worth it in the end...And I might be. He might pull a no man's sky on us...
But looking at his track record, I'm expecting more of a Fallout 76.

Funny thing that, because with all the updates and dlc's that F76 have gotten, it gone a long way towards redeem itself, or at least is a "way much" better game now than what the mess that got released at launch
(This probably where someone start accuse me of being Todd Howard too, lol).
Might I suggest you replace "Fallout 76" with Anthem in your post, that is a train wreck with no visible redemption in sight at all. They even pulled the roadmap for it. Bioware, oh how the mighty titans have fallen.

I feel like Fallout 76 was a bigger disappointment personally, it was to me anyway. I think I was one of the few very skeptical about Fallout 76 which seemed to have nothing but hype. Yeah, but where Bethseda been working and pushing patches, updates and dlc's (that is free). Anthem delivered nothing of value what so ever still, and now even removed the roadmap they had of upcoming things. So it's a bit bad to use F76 as an example when they keep work on it and deliver, where with GD it's a shoot in the dark if he does anything of value at all.
I'm no Bethseda fanboy, I personally think the old "legacy" Fallout 1 and 2 is the definition of Fallout. That was, for a lack of better term, games for adults. (no, not porn). Where Bethseda kinda took it and worked it more into a PG era. I spent a fair share of hours with F3 and F4. Even with F76 I spent quite some time. (and still frequent now and then). A big problem with F76 is what people expected and what they got in combination with Bethseda hyping, and overselling. In a recent interview with Todd Howard, he to a length did own up a lot of the critics they got. But seeing how things progress with F76 now, I'm more inclined to believe they on a redemption/recovery path much alike what "No man's sky" managed (yet to play that one though).
Need to add though. Mention any (I guess so called triple A) mmo that wasn't hyped and oversold before launch? Think would have to search a long time to find any. I played a lot of them up through the years, beta testing quite a few too back when beta testing actually was a thing. Now its more or less, release the damn thing and let the players be paying beta testers.
The trick is to not expect anything, then you wont set yourself up for disappointment
