So no more issues of the captain's log? Doesn't it make sense to follow the thread anymore?
Captains logs require there to be actual news to try make them funny.

Without the weird sycophants or any really news other than Gumdrops going 'dw lads it's coming' :) it'd quickly get boring which is the last thing I wanted them to be, so I'd rather write Captains logs on games on that deserve it.

My captain, in this case, I would like to submit an official request to create a separate data section in a common database so that all crew members can follow the latest live broadcasts of the captain's log ("Warp 3.658.425.2627" frequency).
Personally, I would like to know what's interesting going on, even in those parts of space that I don't follow.

Given I post any captain's logs in the game threads of said shit game, the crews best bet would simply be to follow my profile to see where I dock the ship. :p

Sounds like all those guys hopped over to Radiant. Can't say anything even remotely critical about update speed without the dev and all his cronies attacking you

Being fair to Radiant, the dev is also doing polarity.

I've noticed waifu academy has tons of people collectively dumping on the dev for release date garbage.

If I had to pick a dev that releases basically 10-30 minutes of content every 3 months and has a militant fanbase it would probably be the deluca family.

People get disillusioned with Russian games very quickly. They're repetitive, have no original story and the Engrish is so terrible that it pulls you out of the game constantly.
Plus it's obvious that they are only after your money and have no interest in making the game (if they can't monetize it after 2-3 months, they pull out).
You just described 99% of all games on F95. Apparently, for some "very good reasons" you attribute it only to the Russian games. But somehow it all reminds me of cherry picking. I wonder why?

I see I struck a nerve? Just to be clear, I'm not saying that this only applies to Russian games. I'll be back to it in a second, right after this:

You don't have permission to view the spoiler content. Log in or register now.

It wasn't my intention to dismiss all Russian games, Russians or Russia. If you read it this way, then you completely missed the point of my post, which was to explain why Dual Family got popular so quickly.
Making games is a tedious process. It costs money to buy or license tools, graphics assets, sounds and music. It can be fun, but it takes so much of your time that it really has to pay off, otherwise you'll always find something else to do. Since most developers make little money on games, you won't have many developers in richer countries, but it will get more and more attractive the poorer the country is. IP protection in developed economies is enforced much stronger, which means that you will be prosecuted for using commercial content, so you need to buy all of it in advance. Russia and much of Eastern Europe, is very lax about IP infringement, so you can skirt the rules for a while until Patreon is notified, gets involved and threatens to remove your game unless you purchase a license for the assets you're using.

All this makes Russia and other developing economies a likely source for games that follow this pattern: Slap together a quick demo with badly translated native language, a generic story, but often quite good (if repetitive) graphics.

And I'll repeat: When Gumdrop came along with Dual Family back in 2017, it was a genuinely different 3D game from the cookie cutter variety. Strong focus on a big story, good writing, good use of native language and good use of depth of field and sparse detail in the renders. It stood out from the rest which is why it gained so much fanbase.
A lot happened in those three years, and it's uncertain if Gumdrop would find as much interest in his game today as he did three years ago.

Yes, it's very "struck". When people write stupid things. Especially when you use that kind of cheeky cherry picking. It sounds even more ridiculous when you know how little Eastern European developers are in an porn gamedev. That is, according to your logic, because the number of abandoned games become imperceptible against the background of a huge number of active projects from English-speaking developers. All this mystical way increases the number of abandoned and horrible games with the banal plot from developers in Eastern Europe. And not because the developers are so few that any active and abandoned projects are very visible. Let everyone think the way they want to. It doesn't make any sense to continue.

When Gumdrop came along with Dual Family back in 2017, it was a genuinely different 3D game from the cookie cutter variety.
This is a really unique situation. The one where a good developer has turned into a great con man.

How much content is there actually? I'm guessing the mom+son pairing is a no go and that's what the paypigs are desperately hoping for?

I recall there was at least one poll that gumdrop made public where he asked patrons which route they liked better and I think it was meant to be the focus of future releases. The mom+son route won, but just barely (like 55-45). Two questions were folded into one, which route they liked better and what to focus on, so people may have mis-voted.

I think a lot of patrons hold out for the virginal daughter, but they also liked the son route better because there's actual conflict there instead of the sugarcoated dad.

My memory is hazy, but I think that after that poll was in was when he started getting lazy.

Just for the kicks, a little crazy theory.
Note: I only played a couple of first acts and then just extracted graphics for the eye candy, so I may be way off base here.
It's clear the father half of the game has been given more attention. But the father is sugarcoated, he's perfect and faultless. The daughter adores him.
It's as though Gumdrop only wanted to work on the father+daughter route and wanted an excuse to abandon the son part of the game.
Since the son half of the game was given less love, both the son and the mother are less likable as characters, but their story actually has more drama.
When playing as father, you mostly interact with your daughter, and later with the aunt and niece. There are no interactions with your son or your wife to speak of.
But when playing as the son, you get to interact with the mother and with the daughter which is when you (are supposed to) realize the daughter is so much nicer than her mother and the son is (supposed to be) a douche.
Funnily enough, the end result is that you're more invested in the son's story and want to see how it develops because it actually has potential to surprise you (as opposed to the run of the mill dad route).
Maybe Kyle went through a messy divorce himself, has no children (so has no idea that you generally don't go around fucking your children) and wanted to work out his own issues in the game but when he achieved that goal (and made a ton of money in the process), he lost all interest in it?
That would explain both why he lost interest and why the dad route seems very personal, almost intimate (dad is proxy for Gumdrop), while the son route is so detached?

(Or maybe, the guy does have a daughter, fucked her and is now realizing it was sick.)
