Others - Onhold - E-Thots: A NTR Game Set in a 100% interactive PC Interface [Ch.2 v2.6] [Archipote]

I debated whether I'd write a review for this game or not, but after playing lots of games here, I suppose this is the one that finally broke me.

There's a trend with gaming in general, but with porn games specifically that I particularly loathe. And that is of busy work. As in, doing lots of nothing to fill time to "justify" the game's existence.

Let me put it as bluntly as I possibly can:

If you do not enjoy busywork or lack of choices, give this game a hard pass.

It's not... All bad. Clearly a lot of work has been put into the game, and it has some neat ideas. But other than that:

- The complete and utter UI dissonance in chapter 1 and chapter 2 is jarring. Not to mention the nearly incomprehensible minigame in chapter 1 (integral part of the world plot). At one point, the tutorial calls the colour purple "pink".

- Every single character in this game is a horrible person, everyone talks to each other EXCLUSIVELY through insults, act like they hate each other and have overall no redeeming qualities whatsoever. I've had similar sexual dynamics with people that ventured into that territory before, but it was never 100% of the time like that. In this game this is the entirety of the dialogue, with no exceptions. It's also really cringy, but in a somewhat authentic/funny way. If the characters were remotely likeable, this could be a good thing as the writer is clearly talented/inspired. It genuinely stands out. I'd 100% be down to play a game from the same writer with a bit more... Humanity to it.

Overall, I'd say this game is ultimately wasted potential on ketamine. Loads of interesting ideas/premises, talented people behind it (no clue how many people are on the team), unique flair/identity to almost every single aspect of the game but it fails to deliver enough content to justify the busywork, and utterly unlikeable cast (main girl, secondary girls, cuck, bulls, minor NPCs) make this a really hard game to recommend to absolutely anyone.

So, why does this game deserve 2 stars as opposed to 1?

I respect the devs for at least trying something different in a bug free experience. The writing isn't *bad*, just unlikeable.

Wasted an hour of my life trying to play this game, HS renders, cant figure out whats going on, The minigame is wtf. Baited with NTR in tittle and in tags. Ui is whack, story and conversations with the girls are boring there are no choices that can influence the game... Hard pass dont recommend

Really a simple yet good game nothing big in it not many scenes there and in diffirent engine and suprisingly not bad engine at all but still author for now didnt finished gallery fully so like if i remember right there first part of game in it even with second part of game its not big or enough to see all.

Ntr point is not bad not rushed but feels lil dumb not gonna lie why she even goes to hoe route while she was so clingly to mc ? he is naive pure in some way sure but at first it was good you know but later turned into full dumb brain girl let some guy cum inside without inserting in and saying thats not cheating etc giving handjos blowjobs letting people touching her was good but that was dumb so as A NTR its not bad like i said I CAN SAY even good one i love it well but i wished there was more devolopment with NTR you know ? Least mc is not pathetic small dick loser that good for me.

Other girls good too but i cant say much main girl is best one but like i said this is like message phone type game not like other games you see discord messages you see photos videos and from camera so that kind thing its really good but feels short not not enough but its good buildup and teasing really.

İts deserves easly 5 star but not being renpy game and sometimes getting really boring with messages i give 4 other than that i love it to core good work really good work.

at first i thot its anouther dry ntr phone like game but after a try it turned out to be one of the best written erotic games i have tried it have main hero who is an absolute asshole and aa couple of love interests

Amazing game, and the storytelling gets better as you go along. The story could be a bit better, as it is a bit hard to follow with regards to some tales that are sprinkled in. The girl that gets NTRed is also not my favourite, and she is a complete waste of space imo. But i guess that is what the writer wanted us to percieve it as, and she seriously pissed me off haha.

Didn't really plan to write a review for this but since I played most of it and was very disappointed I might aswell so that people know what they're getting into. As usual a rating for every category and a global rating at the end.

Art/Graphics: 5/5

This is probably the reason why some of you might be considering playing this game, and indeed it has really high quality renders, I think it's among the best I've seen in any game on this site, really solid stuff. Just see for yourself in the teaser images.

Music/Sounds: 0/5

No music or sounds at all except generic message notification sounds. Not that big of a deal though, that's far from being the biggest problem in this game.

Gameplay/UI: 2/5

The UI is just a Discord knockoff essentially, a little bit more original that other VNs out there I guess but it doesn't really add much. You have some mini-games that allow you to unlock a couple extra renders for each character but it's a bit tedious, a lot of clicking without any real gameplay so I just started skipping those at some point and it's not relevant to the main story anyway.

Story/Writing: 1/5

I can't put 0 stars in good faith because it doesn't have any major grammar issues and it's not AI generated but boy is this bad. So here are the main issues and if none of those bother you then I guess maybe you should play this game, otherwise stay away. Here we go:

- The MC is always aware of everything that his girlfriend does because he's hacking her account to read her messages. This is a very important aspect because virtually all NTR games involve a mystery aspect to it, and here it's just nonexistent. And the MC is not encouraging it so it's not NTS or cuck either. It's in this weird place where the MC doesn't like her cheating, is fully aware of everything, bitching about it to other people constantly and yet also does not confront his girlfriend about it. No clue who would enjoy reading that but at least you're warned.

- like many people who reviewed before me mentioned already, the MC is an absolute troglodyte, unlikable and insulting the other characters for no reason. I'm really not sure what the idea is here, maybe this is supposed to be a parody of how young people talk? Just being obnoxious for no reason? And it's not funny either btw, there are some games out there that are mostly comedy and pull it off quite well but this is really not it.

- 0 choices. Like actually 0, not even "cosmetic" choices where you at least get to choose you dialogue lines even though it leads to the same outcome. No option to skip certain scenes, or reply to questions, nothing at all. You're really just reading a wall of text the entire time, which could be bearable I guess if the writing was good but as mentioned above it's clearly not.

Conclusion: 2/5

Honestly such a waste of time, it's a shame because the characters really look gorgeous but the "edgelord teenager simulator" aspect of it really becomes unbearable at some point. Maybe just look at the renders by skipping through everything if you decide to play, but honestly i'd advise to just stay away.

Preface I hate NTR with a passion. Usually you are forced into the role of some limp-dicked cuck, and nothing ever happens beyond that bum ass genre.

In this game the main character is not a complete loser and actually has the balls to throw the cheater into a dump.

Characters are exaggerated but still fun and with personality and somewhat consistent actions. The models are insanely well done, 10/10.

Gameplay is okay, better than most VNs that try to be a game but at their core are VNs lol. However, the pace of gameplay and story do not match currently, having you just skip the gameplay, read a message repeat.

Wow, It's been a really long time since I played a game that well written. I've laughed, been saddened, excited by the writting. Almost played all of the game in a single swoop just because I wanted to know what would happens next. I must say good Archipote, your writing style for this game is particulary on point. Thanks a lot for this gem.

There are so many missed opportunities in this game. I really enjoyed it, but damn, it blue balls the fuck out of us. The scene on the subway during the convention could have been hot. It wasn't hiding at all what she was doing, but we get a PoV where you can't see a fucking thing. Blue balls. Lucas joins her at the convention, one screen of her holding his dick, then they "close the door." Blue balls. There are a bunch of renders of Morgane sucking someone's dick, but there's only one scene that involves a cumshot, and it's the premature ejaculator gloyhole scene. Double blue balls. The format of the game is interesting, but it necessarily leaves out a lot of interesting action we could be seeing. Blue balls. The concept of not knowing everything and edging is hot for like the prologue and most of Chapter 1, but at some point, as the player, we want some actual fucking pay off.

TL;DR Developer should change the name of the game to "E-Thots: The Blue Balls Masters."

I couldn't really get past how completely unlikable the player character is. Like there's a bastard character and then there's a complete psychopath... Didn't play a ton of it, the CG's looked spectacular but again, yea, next level evil MC...

Never have I encountered a game on here that I want to like so much, yet ended up severely disliking...

First of, if the dev reads this: please don't take this as a personal attack! You're clearly putting in a lot of effort and it's ultimately your game; you should make it however you want to. This is just the opinion of one random person on the Internet.

That being said... Never have I played a game with so many obnoxious characters at once. I've played through all available content, up through the convention, and not once have any of the characters seemed remotely likeable. Maybe that's the point, I don't know, but it severely hampers my enjoyment. Why should I give a shit about anything that's happening, when no one in the story does?

It comes across as what a 50 year old thinks a bunch of 20 year olds talk like nowadays, and it's not flattering. I get that at least some of it is meant as humour, but it's too much. It's nonstop noise, completely masking any vague attempts at characterization. No one is consistent, nobody seems to care, everything is played for laughs to the point of parody, and as such, I find myself unable to get even slightly invested.

It's such a shame too, because the UI is great, the renders are great, and hell, most of the minigames are pretty decent too, even though there are arguably too many of them (and I found the convention a tad overdone. I think we could have done without the card packs, didn't feel like they added anything.)

I hate that I have to write something so negative, because I love the concept. I want to love this game so damn much, but it just won't let me. It's a game all about the characters and their interactions, and unfortunately, those interactions are pretty abysmal.

To end on a positive note, though: Thank you for making this game, dev! Even if it's not for me, I'm still happy it exists. If nothing else, it at least got me so passionate that it made me write my first review.

This has been on my radar for a while and I finally got around to playing- frankly I only have the barest idea of what the hell I'm doing, but this shit is cracking me up. Grade A writing, absolute bastard of an MC and every character earns the title of "God's Favorite Idiot." I'm not that far in so I haven't gotten to much of the sexy stuff, but what I've seen so far has been solid. Legit one of the games I'm playing just as much for the writing as the porn.

EDIT: 2.6 was confirmation for all the fears I've had for the game.
Nothing's been done to address the main issue: the writing is still obnoxious and self-serving and there are still no dialogue options which means zero player agency or role-play capability.

What's different now, however, is that it has become clear that the reason the main character was written in such a vile way was to set up a pandering revenge power fantasy story as a subversion of what's perceived by a vocal minority as 'harmful' NTR genre tropes.

2.6 made it clear the dev is overly involved with the community and its discourse which has shifted his focus, consciously or not, to appeasing the mob rather than making a good game. This alone renders the project completely uninteresting to anyone wanting to experience a sincere story rather than some cynical subversion made for people with contempt for the genre.

On a less important note, the mini-games are still scattershot: ideas that you can clearly see are decent and could've been better developed and implemented into the game are left untended as pointless lightweight distractions.

There's obviously talent on display here and it's a genuine shame for it to be wasted on this thing.


Difficult to rate. On the one hand this is no doubt one of if not the best phone NTR game:
- The abrasive naturalistic writing starts to grow on you after a period of acclimation as the characters really do begin to feel like an existing bunch of vile discord dwellers instead of the usual crowd of lifeless walking stereotypes you get in these games. The balance of CRINGE/IMMERSION should definitely be tweaked though.
- Honey Select models are uncharacteristically attractive here: I'm not an expert but of all the HS games I've played this one has by far the hottest models.

On the other hand, the game lacks basic RP functions:
- Instead of being able to choose your responses to the cast's shenanigans you're forced into the skin of a truly unlikeable, miserable cunt who's written in such a self-indulgent way it's genuinely impossible to imagine yourself as him for even a split-second. This is one of those examples where LESS character development would be a good thing.
- This being an NTR game, you'd expect to at least be able to choose your outlook on Morgane's cheating but you instead get the main character's bizarre contrived response. It truly is puzzling as to what the dev was even going for with this one. Did he want to self-insert with Avar and a response that makes sense such as caring to any extent about his girlfriend cheating on him would make the character too much of a "cuck"? No clue but the damage is done as a lot of the immersion achieved through the way the love interests are written gets undermined by how oddly dehumanized the MC is.

The game is very unique in how it tells the story and the characters behind it aren't your usual run of the mill VN characters that you met a hundred times before. They can be quirky, silly , lovely, blunt and sometimes just weird, but it's actually very entertaining to read since they don't feel like just another set of NPCs. Of course there's also clichees and your usual porn logic (it's a porn game duh), but it feels like a lot of heart behind the writing, which not many games actually achieve.

When i first played it was actually quite skeptical about the UI and narrative form, and was close to dropping it, but it definately won me over after a bit, and I can just encourage people to give this game a shot even if you don't initially like it. It's an amazing one.

The weakness of the game is imo just the climax. There's a lot of setting up, teasing, fleshing out characters, silly little entertaining titbits etc. but once you actually come to the most interesting parts, it's just over too quickly. And I'm frankly not sure why. Both art and dialogue/story telling is amazing, but the actual'scenes' could easily be made quite a bit longer and would make it even much much better than it already is.
But I've seen some improvement in that regard in the last update already, and the game is still quite young and already pretty steamy, so I'm very hyped for more.

I can't bring myself to go as low as one star, but this game came highly recommended and I couldn't find anything to like about it.

Your world view is the desktop screen of a guy's computer. You read discord messages, then do a card game where you pick left or right for several cards, then you end the day and do it again.

I expected the game to pull back from the computer after a few days, but it didn't, and the repetition started wearing me down. There is 3D CG of some scenes, but for non-scenes a lot of AI art is used, for example in the discord user profile pictures.

You have three girls you have to manage right away, so there is a lot of chat to take in every single day, and most of the exposition being done through discord chat quickly ended up feeling more like answering work mail/messages than anything that got me interested.

I'll give it points for an original idea and there clearly being work put into this, but I couldn't find any enjoyment in this game.

A lot of text, but It's excellent and funny to read. Awesome characters and renders, cool gameplay! Hope to see more updates in future, one of the promising projects I'm constantly checking. If you are looking for something you can quickly jerk-off, that's not the right game

yea, this might be the best NTR and game out there right now. the cg's are clearly top tier but the characters themselves are actually really fleshed out. yea, there's some cringe moments in the texts and sometimes it takes way too long for any sort of sexual interaction to occur, but it's eventually worth it.

One of the more interesting games to play. Different from a lot of others, an emphasis on dialogue and characters. But the dialogue and characters are really well done!

The game is on the more light hearted side when it comes to the dialogue, and how seriously it takes itself. The characters are wild, but interesting. The characters/women are very attractive!

Love the updates that have been made as well, a lot of really interesting scenes and developments.

This game is still early in development, and every update so far has introduced more goodness.

The NTR is high quality, and is so far more of a netorase type than netorare. This could change, but for now that is how it seems to be.

Looking forward to more developments, but so far it has gotten better and better.

I think where this game really nails the premise is the fact that Morgane has zero idea that Avar is aware of her antics, legitimately believing she is getting away with what she's doing. So many NTR games attempt this, but so few actually get it right, or there are zero consequences until the very end. In this game, consequences are unfolding alongside the activity, with Avar and Elaine's deal.

I can confidently say that getting Morgane's 'phone' call actually made something stir in my chest, which no other AVN has managed to pull off. Is it the very familiar interface we're using pulling us in? Is it the characters having actual personalities, or motivations?

One thing for certain, I'm actually looking forward to the potential story branching down the road, to have a say in how Avar will react once Morgane goes all the way (it's a porn game, she's going to eventually).

In short, E-Thots is shaping up to be one of, if not the best NTR game of this style.
