Sup folks!
Lately I've noticed that there's a lot of folks that struggle with Itch's Butler, leaving them with only providing external links in their downloads due to Itch's size limits and slow support response time.
I've taken the time to make a very quick and easy guide that will show you how to use Butler using Ren'Py. Please note that this is only for Ren'Py projects.
This will run Butler with no other effort on your end.
When it finishes uploading, you'll get a notification on Itch that the update is live. This bypasses the size limit without needing to contact Itch support about it.
This also automatically creates patches and updates for Itch client users. It's worth noting that after the initial upload, this will also only push through new content, as well as any changed/updated .rpy and asset files, making subsequent uploads faster.
Anyway, I hope this helps.

- In Ren'Py, open options.rpy
- At the bottom of the document, there is a commented-out chunk of code. Delete the '#'.
- Enter your username and page title (as it appears in your link) like: "iamdev/this-is-my-game" Make sure to replace spaces with dashes ( - )
- Save.
- In Ren'Py, click Build Distributions.
- Make sure you have a recent build.
- Click Upload to itch.io
