VN - Ren'Py - Echoes of 2990 [Ch.2 0.2.3] [AADev]

I don't get why this game has so high ranking that it looks like a good game. It clearly not. Just read reviews, it's porn "logic" and porn level of story. I wanted to make my own impression. Well, reviewers were right, it's porn story in the decorations of something like future.
But dev not only has no skill in writing, he/she also has no knowledge about pretty much everything. And yeah, why are you using Russian names if you have no idea about how to properly use these names? Petrov is a male last name. It can be a last name of Anastasia's father or her brother but certainly not her own. And cute name for Anastasia is Nastya, rarely Asya, certainly not Ana (it's even not Russian name, maybe Latin or Spanish).
MC looks like Thom Cruise in his Top Gun time, speaking the same way, but Tom Cruise's character was far more mature and has a brain in his head (comparing to MC). The story jumps from one point to another with no noticable logic or reason.
It really is a fap game for teenagers looking for a quick jerk session. But any porn tube clip will be easier to find and much easier to use.

This is one of the greatest projects I've seen in a long while, add some pregnancy or impregnation if you will and I'm sure it'll become a fan favorite!
Also the music is simply awesome! 100% something I'd listen throughout my days.

I admit I did not go far into the game. After an hour or so it looks like a vacation of schoolchlildren in a spaceship. There is nothing remotely resembling to science fiction and the overall setting is a bit silly.
Who knows, perhaps it gets better down the road but I'll never know.

Yeah it's good, I wish it had MORE sci-fi elements aside from the obvious ones surrounding the AI LI. That is really my only gripe with the game, the rest of it is absolutely stellar, oh and the requirements for some of the interactions are kinda crazy, at times it feels like you HAVE to save scum, but even then that isn't really a downside, you just gotta play better. Big butts in space 5/5.

Porn Logic the game.

Way too much of the whole chosen one/Gary Stu vibe going on here.
A lot of choices make no sense in regards to what the result is(being nice will give you a sub point, while being an ass gives Dom points, which tells me they don't understand Dom/sub very well if at all).
Graphics are a little inconsistent, some of the latter parts of the game as of 0.2.2 were grainy and worse than in the beginning, as if they were rushed to get out content.

Great renders, seemingly meaningful choices (still early), interesting premise, and well thought of science elements/space lore--making this an easy recommend. In terms of sci-fi, I can't think of much else on this site that comes close to this. Well done.

This game is a nice example of why I don't like sci-fi and fantasy AVNs.

Pros:
1) Excellent visuals overall.
2) A large and well-designed codex where the girls' dossiers update regularly and even rotate their models (!).
3) Lewd scenes are well-designed.
4) Specific girl: Veronica. The only professional on the ship.

Cons:
1) The MC is a bit too much of a Chosen one.
2) Unlike the obvious contemporary ones, this new sci-fi setting needs exploration; also, I'd really like to get to know the girls and how they live and work in this new future world. Instead, they just jump the MC's bones, and 90% of the lore is available through the codex, not gameplay, which is bad.
3) Too much porn logic in the girls' outfits. Are they supposed to be high-level professionals working with trillion dollar equipment dressed like this? Also, robots with huge dicks, seriously?
4) The curves on most of the girls are exaggerated.

So, 3 stars. Unlike with contemporary games, sci-fi and fantasy titles need to introduce the player to the world to get him fully immersed, not throw scantily clad women at him and call it a day. Otherwise, I don't feel like I'm in the future, but just on a thematic cosplay party.

The picture quality is so beautiful, the content combining the future and AI is very attractive, the girls are so beautiful and attractive. Really looking forward to more parts, the game is great with stats rather than just clicking to change scenes

The moedls are great, the humor is on point and it does give you choice even if its a bit nonsensical sometimes.

Look I love almost everything about this game except some of the writing choices just to push nonsense kinda urks me. A grenade that can shrink a cyborg? A predictive algorithm that shows a porn outcome makes the girl horny and the same girl is delusted by you who look just like the male touching her that looks exactly like the female. Sure that makes sense. Even worse I saw the choice and the other one gets you nothing, so I went back and got the points and you get punished for it.

Even better my favorite troupe of all time, how do we prove a female is great at fighting or strong? Maybe a training VR to show their moves.......nope. Maybe a small threat to show they are all capable......no. Well we will just have her kick your ass. You're physically fit and have precog powers......but not in situations where it would stop this from happening. Captain has lightning powers and you have no idea what to do with the asian girl, who has more muscle mass than everyone, but is faster and can flip around you. However when she gets you in a hold you can do nothing even though in not a scene before your were lifting her like a child. Naw bro just let her choke you out.....because the ease of which our MC could easily get out of this is obviously ignored so it can easily be shown both of these women will kick your ass. No IQ checks, no strength checks. Maybe if these plot points needed to happen for some sort of growth, but they're all skippable. Don't get me started on how just being not a dick gets you submissive points. Just by playing as a regular not asshole, you get sub points.

Look the story is good and I'm enjoying it, but the sub/dom thing is pretty broken. So is the intelligence thing.....you have to be dumb enough to get specific strength upgrades and scenes......seriously. Honestly some of these reviews are delusional and not because the game is bad, its because its in chapter 2 that just released and they gave it 5 stars on its initial launch.....thats ridiculous. You're telling me if this game never uodated it would be perfect?

A great start for any game, interesting characters, amazing art, a story that makes you want to keep playing, some great sex scenes and best of all a really good confident MC.

Choices can be a little hit or miss but its easy to go back and change your choice.

Obviously this game is still only in its early stages but for now its really good.

Wow, I honestly didn’t expect it to be this good! The animations and renders are amazing — super smooth and detailed. it already feels really solid and full of potential. Can’t wait to see the next episode and hope they keep this level of quality in future updates!

Excellent porn game with unique setting, optimal number of characters (not too few and not too many), great sex scenes, very decent writing and interesting and fresh approach. There are a couple of games set in space but this one is the best IMO (even though we only have one chapter). Quality here speaks for itself.

One of the reviewers has pointed out that this game has too much porn logic and some characters are too easily charmed by MC. IMO that is not the case. Yes, there is porn logic here but it is an essential element of porn games and here we get it in right doses (nothing excessive if you ask me, everything is quite logical and with women below 30 it shouldn't be surprising they would have high libido). Going for realism is counter-productive for games that depict explicit sex scenes and if we would get another slow-paced game I probably would have dropped it.

And yes, engaging story is essential for a good porn VN but this game does have it. Characters are also well written and contrary to what one of the reviewers said not everyone are immediately smitten by MC's charms (and especially not the captain).

All in all this game is a gem, with unique models (which is rare, usually we see the same models over and over), the right amount of spicy scenes and interesting story so far I can't rate it lower than 5/5.

I am a simple guy, a sexy sci-fi adventure with the ladies is a 5/5.

A promising start with some caveats.
The models are very pretty. Facially a few are a little too perfect and have that uncanny feel. Body wise there is a nice mix of breast, hip, waist, and butt sizes, though favouring the thicker side. Giving the Korean character platinum blonde hair, blue eyes, and a body built like a tank is a bit of a strange choice; aside from her name and vocabulary there is practically nothing Korean about her. Though better than the alternative, gratefully the author didn't go full odious cliche and make her an idol or similar. Having the MC cleanly taller than the amazonian character seems a bit of a waste; he is already much taller than the rest of the cast. A young rouge type character is generally more 5'10-6' than the "heroic height" of 6'2 (or maybe he reminds me too much of "Maverick".)
The clothing is hit or miss. The front top of the Captain's suit is a bit eye-brow raising for a woman of her temperament. Some of the other women dressing slutty fits them as characters. Having at least a couple characters who wear relatively covering clothes is wonderful. The skin-tight space suits are a perk of the setting.
The animations are fairly well done.
The music works well; fits the scenes where it is utilized. Could maybe use more ambient sounds.
The menu is very well put together. The BIOS section for the characters is neat and the viewable model is a nice feature. The models rotating constantly is a tad annoying but I'm not sure if a manually rotatable figure is possible or reasonable; it is good enough as is. Being able to swap between different looks is also very nice. The BIOS does at times give away too much information. If the story is intended to be more than perfunctory that may be something to watch for. The Memories section (the gallery) seems that it will show previews of locked scenes once the character's first scene is unlocked; personal preference is not having previews - ruins the eroticism of the unknown.
Some scenes have the frame slowing moving, repeatedly panning left and right. This does not make the visuals more interesting - it makes them nauseating. A number of games have started doing this and it is garbage in every one. MOTION /= QUALITY. STOP.
The biggest issues are in the writing.

Great models, nice music, snazzy menus, decent writing - really a fantastic start!

Echoes of 2099 (Ch. 1)

In space, only crewmembers can hear you moan. While Echoes may somewhat feel like a silly game, what's underneath is a nicely packed and pretty sci-fi world that's begging to be explored. Just like your crewmembers.

STORY
On Earth's Azores Rift in the year 2099, a young man trains to be part of a space exploration program aboard the Prometheus. One company accident with your shitty boss Mr. Grimbald turns the MC into a prime candidate for their 'Dawnbringer project', eventually acquiring special 'future sight' powers which allow him to foreshadow certain events. It's a silly premise, but works well due to the game taking itself very seriously.

As part of the spare crew, you'll start out exploring the ship and its crewmembers, acquiring affection and/or lust points as you go forward. The conversations are fleshed out properly and extra background information can be learned about the crew through dialog, sometimes optional. As part of the crew, you'll have the option to approach things laid back or show a little dominance with everyone.

While the game is still at it's start, it showcases good understanding of dialog with the different characters. The game even goes as far to give each character a background sheet, including a zodiac sign complimenting their behavior. Aries are stubborn, Aquarius are playful and Gemini… Well, let's just say they keep things interesting.

It's rare for a game to start out this strong in its start. The first chapter definitely gives you a feel for what kind of sexy space adventure Echoes of 2099 will be, and we have yet to leave Earth for the actual space adventure. We can only hope the developer keeps the story interesting as our crew passes through the cosmos, handling their mission.

PRESENTATION
Echoes of 2099 looks gorgeous. The developer AADev opted for high quality graphics with cinematic styling. Depth of field, closeup shots and establishing shots, it's all here. The game is reminiscent of quality titles like 'Tales From The Unending Void' and 'City of Broken Dreamers'. Many different female characters that play out their characters in different ways, although all of them seem to behave a bit cheeky. It's fun to see the different crewmembers interact with each other straight out the gate, which is refreshing in a visual novel.

The cyberpunk sci-fi aesthetic can get dull quite easily, but a mix of outside and inside scenes make up for a refreshing combination of visual elements. Sometimes you'll be in a hull somewhere and other times, you'll be outside during a thunderstorm. With the galaxy still at the developer's fingertips, it's exciting to see how unique planets and locations will be explored.

Aside from the characters and locations, the game also features a minimalistic menu design that focuses on efficiency and it works. Combine it with some nice music here and there, including a theme song that incorporates some hopeful energy á al Clair Obscure, and we have a great game on our hands. The first chapter definitely holds a few steamy scenes for you to unlock, which might seem super fast since we've barely left Earth's surface. Then again, there is probably a lot in store for this space crew.

GAMEPLAY
Aside for a driving story with strong characters, the game features a couple interesting gameplay elements. First off, there's important choices. The game will tell you 'This action will have consequences' when you've made a significant choice that will change things in the game. Small choices impact how characters respond to you, but the bigger choices might actually change the way the story happens.

In addition to that, there's a whole codex menu showing detailed background information on characters you meet, including 3D models and alternate looks. You will receive 'database' and 'visual' updates, signaling things have been added to your codex for you to explore. That way, you can remember significant details about the characters and look back on memories you've unlocked.

There's a small minigame that trains your response time as well, which can throw you off guard, but is easily repeated so you can score points. It's small engagement projects like those that keep you on your toes as a player, possibly earning affection from the crew along the way.

OVERALL
Echoes of 2099 looks and feel promising. We haven't seen much of the overall story yet, but the crew of around eight characters is solid enough to build a space drama of their own. Pair it with the pretty visuals and the prospect of exploring different planets, and this might just be a hit game in the making. At the very least, it's an enticing and fun start of space exploration. And it's rare for games to start out this strong.

Giving 5 stars because it's just chapter 1 and it's already enticing.

Cool setting, decent characters, lovely visuals and renders, but way too much porn logic for me that takes away from it all. The over exaggerated bodies (We're supposed to believe Kim is peak female physical form lol) , the fact everyone (including the captain who is supposed to be the cold hearted bitch) just instantly likes you sexually, with no build up lends to the feeling that you can't take the story seriously. The writing being so surface level and unbelievable it feels like it was written with one hand while jacking off.

It's not terrible, but I personally can't take any of it seriously.

All around solid quality, engaging enough to finish in one sitting.

Even if the whole game is completed in this level quality, it already would be one of the memorable AVNs around. Would support the full game if it comes out.

The visuals and the scene constructions may be the best I've seen in this genre.

Models very well done but could use some more variety to take it to the next level. It feels like all of the bodies are from the same base, but the character designs and personalities are well portrayed enough to be distinct.

Writing could use some work, the logic is a bit wonky at times, but honestly better than a lot of complete products who boast their story writing and never got out of early access.

A solid, promising start. Solid story and world building, unique characters with their own voice, and a plot that is actually engaging.

Visuals are stellar, and the music is good quality.

The inclusion of a 'consequences' mechanic hopefully means that we'll continue to get a branching storyline in the upcoming updates.

Solid game we have here. It retains the balance between quick fap material and storytelling.

Great renders. This honestly carries the game. Absolutely hot and interesting characters. Even the MC himself is not your typical f95 character slop. You could see the effort given here.

Dialogues aren't long and not that boring either. How many games have I skipped dialogues forward just to get to the nicest bits but this one's not one of them. Choices seems to matter here but that will still remain to be seen since this is still Chapter 1. Hopefully, it does matters.

Story is suiting up to be a typical harem fest sci-fi but characters are fleshed out enough. Nothing deep but nothing needlessly complicated. Hope that the manner of storytelling remians consistent throughout.

The animation's are simple enough but when you've got an absolutely gorgeous renders then it does certainly ups the quality significantly. We could certainly ask for more but ehh...this one is great enough.

The only thing I don't like is the auto-rotating character models in their profiles. Let us have it on manual please so as to appreciate the effort done with this game.
