Eden is what it sets out to be: an isekai with a friendly party, setting itself up as a parody of the genre (or at least a self-aware version of itself). It trends towards anime/video-game concepts/behaviours, so it's only fair to rate it within the confines of what it is.
I skip sex scenes once the dialogue ends, so I can't comment here either; being able to skip them doesn't seem to shunt lore out, so it's a well-handled trade. For those looking for sex scenes, this review doesn't cover it.
Even though the start feels a bit rough and heavy, and the puzzles are a bit of a chore during replays, the individuality of the characters lends itself to storytelling that's above average. The 'pilot' moment/content is easily forgivable, as the world/universe starts to unfold' in retrospect, and on replay, I'm not sure how you'd improve it without dragging it out, so it plays fairly well. (When puzzle skipping becomes a factor it'll likely feel less heavy.)
Pet the Yuki.
- It's easy to read.
- The story is both uncomplicated, but with enough going on to mean something.
- Characters exist outside of the scope of the main character (there's back story and hidden hopes and desires).
- Characters feel like they have their own 'voice', so you can generally follow who is who, what they're thinking, and it's not just a 'group desire' moment.
- It's cosy.
- The story doesn't suffer badly when replayed.
