The content was already planned. There's no reason to complain, since the developer didn't lie or omit what he planned

Hey again, everyone!
Things have been going really well this month. The team has made some big strides on the Welcome Week Update, and we’re excited to share where we’re at!

1. Writing and Artwork – Finished!
The writing is officially locked, and all of the art for the update is complete! That includes animations, character art, backgrounds, and all the little graphics that tie it all together.

2. Scene Assembly
We’re now in one of the final stages of development process - assembling the scenes! All the dialogue, artwork, and animations are being brought together, and it’s really starting to feel like the experience we've been envisioning. Here are a few previews!

3. Narrative Path (NO SPOILERS)
Here’s a peek at the narrative structure of the update. Hopefully this provides a good understanding of it's size compared to the demo! And don't worry, there are no spoilers <3

4. Poses
Fresh new poses that will be in the update!

5. Room Customization
The room customization system is up and running. Here's a little sneak peek at how it'll work. We can’t wait to see how you decide to decorate your dorm!

6. HookUp App
Here is a first look at the HookUp app. It'll appear briefly in this update, but will become a much larger part of the game in our first Feature update. We're excited to share more details about it in the future.

7. Card Updates
We’ve done some reworks to the cards to make them cleaner and more consistent.

8. Github Setup
On the technical side: Kicks set up a new GitHub repository and workflow for us. In simple terms, this means the team can now work on the game’s code together much more smoothly. Instead of passing files back and forth, we can update, track, and edit code collaboratively in one shared space. It’ll make development faster and way easier going forward.

9. New Wallpaper
A brand new Edmund wallpaper is now available for Junior and Senior Tier supporters on Patreon, with a new one coming soon!

10. Roadmap
If you missed it, here’s another look at the Edgefield Roadmap. It breaks down the future path of our game!

That’s everything for this month’s update. Thank you so much for your support <3 It really means the world to us and keeps this project moving forward. We can’t wait for you to dive into Welcome Week soon!

Thank you!

If the quality of this update and those to come have the care I see in the promotional and dev updates, I think it will be a good contender to summertime
The AI visuals might put some people off, but I think the upside is that the wait for updates will be shorter since the devs don't have to do the art from scratch and can put that effort into something else

Honestly, in terms of AI art, these characters at least don't feel soulless - each one has a pretty distinct personality. The real test will come with the sexual content, and how that looks.

That's exactly it, of the many AI games you find out there. Only this one and two others seem to actually have some soul in their development.

Being a "contender to summertime" isn't really that much of a bar to clear these days. It ain't 2016 anymore.

That said this game looks amazing, and I can't wait to play more of it.

The only thing that scares me about the roadmap is the "Character Updates". I hope he does't focus on one at a time and gives all around updates. It kinda sucks when you fully progress with a single character at a time and it feels like the other ones are just there with nothing to do.

Not that it's a massive deal, but will saves from the demo work when the new release launches, and, will saves be compatible with version going forward?
(Ran into a couple games recently where I've lost a ton of progress due to save incompatibility and even though RenPy is pretty easy to skip through to get where you were, it's still kind of a motivation killer.)

I dont see why not, should be as easy to just have to overwrite the files with the update to keep playing with the same save. But in case it wont I dont see much of a loss sens it didnt take long to hit the end of the game (demo?).

I could be misremembering, but didn't they say the only AI art was the backgrounds, which were then touched up manually to correct any fucked up AI architecture?
