Seems I'm stuck with the into the forest quest, I already butchered the animal and is not colloring green for completed, also seems i can't water the plants. For the save i'll have to change the format right?
I think Harold says there are a couple people who need help with butchering, so more than one. I think the info in the quest log could be improved though, I've made a note. Also, the watering happens after the butchering and other favor, but I'm not sure why we made the sequencing like that so I may remove it. We needed the work around town to take all day, but I'm not sure the ordering matters. It could probably be improved.

Also, be sure to turn on dash in the options. The game was designed with dash turned on. You'll need it. One hero completed the whole chapter without dash turned on. I'm not sure how he did it. I'm going to be looking into ways to force dash to be on. The standard game system doesn't allow it so I may need to find a mod.

I think the reason (and I personally believe) arguing over whether a game uses AI art, or even if the art is good, is not actually on topic because the art isn't going to change for any game on the site due to this feedback. The value of these forums is getting feedback to improve gameplay, at least for me. I've altered the monster system based on feedback. I've changed parts of the quest tracking system based on feedback. I've tried to improve dialogue based on feedback. If I had to change the art, the project would be essentially dead because I would have to find a new artist AND everyone would need to agree he wasn't doing anything with AI. How would that be possible?
I wasn't actually referring to this situation, I've had issues in the past where I've caught out actual malicious developers and any post I made bringing up their suspicious actions it got taken down for personal attacks or for being off-topic. Feels like this should be one of the most open place to discuss things like that but apparently not.

I am stuck in Apvale, she says I can get the cider from the orchard to the south of town, there is no south exit, just north (says you have business left) and you go west and then south, but there is no one there.

The objectives are more sign posts in case someone doesn't play for a month. If you just head to the cider press south of Apvale, that should do it. You won't even need to enter Apvale.

Well, as far as monster girls are concerned, there are two minotaur style girls, but the characters cannot get too far from human before I dislike it. To each there own. We are thinking about adding a mermaid style character, but I'm not sure. But yeah, currently just human, elves and minotaur styles.

Also, there is a character who is meant to have a more east Asian phenotype. But I understand the point. It feels weird to have too much more than that since this is meant to be a high medieval fantasy in a north European style. It seems hard to narratively justify a modern London style ethnicity mix. It would be easier with a modern or sci-fi theme.
In a fantasy setting, anything is valid. Depending on how mundane magic is, transportation stops being much of a problem. Even if only normal transportation is available, envoys, slaves, mercenaries, scholars, cartographers, monks, mystics, fugitives and merchants exist, not every character needs to be "a citizen born and raised where the game takes place". Embassies can also exist. Nomads have always been a thing in history, as are raiding parties that manage to settle in small areas. The only real question is whether the place "has any value" for people from outside, as in, "why would they even want to get there in the first place".

If you don't want darker skinned ladies in your game, that's ok. Saying it is "hard to narratively justify" is a skill issue, whether for their presence or absence. The easiest justification is "they visited a few times a decade or two ago, but saw nothing remarkable and moved on". A very similar one: "they don't even know this place exists". A third, semi related: "The place is far from the main trade routes and even merchants only visit to rest and resupply".
To make it simpler: "They're not there (in the game land) because they don't have a reason to", they fail to answer the question of "why be there in the first place". Bam, suddenly you have enough of an in-world explanation to only have white people instead of the lazy "fantasy north yurop"

I appreciate the feedback, but I am a little confused about the assumptions. Do you think that medieval English peasants were talking to each other about why more of them weren't black? I mean, today a lot of people in England talk about how much immigration there has been and yet most of the counties, like Devon or Lincolnshire, are still like 96%-97% white British, which is close to my numbers. 1000 years ago there would be some Normans, Norse or Cornish people in Devon, but phenotypically there was about as much visual diversity as exists in my game.

When the east Asian phenotype girl is added, there will be an in game explanation since it seems weird to not. I also don't know what you think this game is. This isn't a game where the MC travels across the world. He is limited to any area relatively about the size of Yorkshire if even that big. And if we were to travel to a neighboring country why would the inhabitants look much different than a Scot or Welshman look to a Saxon? I don't understand how someone deciding to set their world in a Wallonia style setting would be invalid and bad.

I don't want to fall down a rabbit hole on this topic because this has little to do with the actual game. This seems pretty off topic and a little political. But in summation, I feel it would be more weird for characters to explain in game why the world is not a different setting than to talk to each other about the actual setting of the game.

You seem like the type that really liked what netflix did with The Witcher.

Well, the game is pretty narrative centric and pregnancy does not match with the narrative. If the game is successful it wouldn't be hard to add some extras or do some alt arts for some kinks, but no beastiality, incest, or loli style stuff. I hope you enjoy what the game is anyway.
"no incest" ahh, ok. no point to keep watching this thread. good luck tho, art looks good

I got rid of the monstrosities, but game says I need to find Edgar. Edgar died, demon lady fed me a piece of him. So seems like I am soft locked? Also in the bottom left corner is all the sprites.

Just for arguments sake, the art isn't AI, but it is very boring and generic. The banner image of the characters looks like early days ctrl alt del with how same facey they all are, makes it feel very soulless. Not to mention all the backgrounds are so smeared and blurry it takes an extra second for object recognition to remind me what it is I'm looking at. Why should anyone bother to try this game if it looks the same as all the other games that are in the "AI cg" tag? I'm not gonna play this just to leave a comprehensive negative review of this game. And I would also wonder if there was a point to making this game if 80% of the discussion of this is just whether or not it should have the "AI cg" tag added.

That is a major bug. I've uploaded a bug fix. There was a minor bug in 0.4 where at least one person skipped the fight with the monstrosity and though it didn't "break" the game, it cause the rain to be permanent and the player to be underleveled. We added an event to the main code to prevent this. It did not properly get incorporated into the deployment 0.5 build.

We added a place to step that should fix the problem if you have already passed the seals stage. If this does not work, please let me know.

The sprite issue is due to a change in the screen resolution from the original plan. It will be fixed in the next full release. Thanks for bringing it to my attention.

Honestly, after the first couple of releases I did feel like it was pointless to continue with all the AI accusations. Why hire a guy to do actual art if people are going to complain about it? This is my first foray and I've got a lot to learn. People also really hated the original encounter system. So, we rebuilt it. There were (and will certainly continue to be) feedback about the quest system. Some feedback is that the game feels a little too linear. That is an issue we plan on addressing in the releases after 0.6 (that release already has a lot of content). I want to make a game people enjoy. I known I may have spent too much time on world building. I hope it will pay off. We are working on a simple stealth mechanic which should be ready for 0.7. I hope people like it. We are going to try some puzzles. We definitely plan a simple town building mechanic. I think it will probably need a lot of iteration. But if you are looking for an FPS and hate JRPGs, this game is definitely not what you are looking for.

But to your main point, you don't like the art. I get it. There are popular porn artists I don't like. It's hard to account for taste. Even if you loved the world and story line, it's a practical impossibility for us to change the art now. I personally think Nix is great, but we all have our own tastes and it isn't wrong to.

I do wonder whether haters are more vocal than those who like the game. The game got about 1,000 downloads in just 12 hours since the new release was posted. Most releases get significantly more than that over the release cycle. But who knows how many actually like it. We just set up a subscribestar. Who knows if anyone will donate. As this is my first game, I don't have a current fan base. I'm going to finish this game though.
