I desire to make a short trainer game for the new year. However I'm extremely rusty when it come to painting. I need some practice. Harsh but fair critiques are welcome.

Study #1

Goal: Let's see what a basic grayscale glazing technique nets us. 1 to 1 replication is less important than developing a reliable method.

Time: Approx. 7 hours over 2 days

Notes: I need to get from idea to finished paining in a much shorter time if I want to complete this thing by my deadline. Stylization seems like an obvious route, but I don't wan to go too heavy in that direction. Maybe using a timmer might help set a benchmark...

#002

Goal: Speed Trial. Sessions were limited to 45 minutes. Complete in as few sessions as possible.

Time: 4 sessions of 45 minutes for a total of 3 hours.

Notes: Not 100% happy with the result considering the lack of contrast in some areas, but the time is much more reasonable. Second opinion needed for the emerged "style". 90 minutes on a sketch is still ridiculous. Reducing that time shall be my next goal.

Tablet broke. One drop from like 2 feet onto carpet jacked up the port. That deadline I set 's not looking good unless I pull a different strategy out my ass.
