"Emmanuelle" for the Atari ST (or Amiga) is fatally flawed, but undeniably was THE prototype adult lewd game

I loved the Atari ST as a kid, being from the 80's. One evening, whilst going through my older brother's 'stash' of floppy's, I encountered one game called "Emmanuelle". I already knew it was a reference to a popular fictional erotic character. So with a cheeky grin I thought I'd give it a try.

You play a rich playboy who is searching for Emmanuelle, the woman of his dreams. You can explore a variety of different islands, whereby you encounter a variety of different women whom you can flirt with and, if you don't mess up with the conversation, they will pretty much throw themselves at you and you can choose to accept or reject them.

The premise is still interesting even 25 years later for me. However, the mechanics of the game are outrageously bad. With each woman you meet, you get 3 different one-liners to choose from. They are basically given to you at random, and a lot of them are cringe x100. However, different women respond to different one-liners. For example, one random line you get is (and I'm not kidding): "Let's go to it, baby!" .... a lot of women in the game will (understandably) not be impressed and tell you where you can stick it. But LOL there are some that will reply with "At least you know how to talk to a woman".
^
Besides the extremely random and hilariously awkward choices of dialogue, which you have NO idea which will work and which will not, what makes the game infuriating is that of the 3 possible one-liners you are given during a chat-up, you have literally no control over which lines can be given. A lot of the time, the game may literally give you all 3 lines that are repulsive to the woman in question. It is literally a roll of the dice as to whether a) you get a line that each woman likes, and b) playing a grueling game of trial-and-error to find out what lines each woman actually likes.

...

Ok rant over. Now onto the positives:
This game still holds a special place in my heart, because it allows you to go on an adventure to anywhere you like, whenever you like. Plus, you get to 'get lucky' in all kinds of scenarios that most college frat boys would write on a "hit list": have a threesome with twins on the beach, join the mile-high club with air hostesses, and most amusingly you can flirt with a masked exotic dancer - when she removes her mask, she has the face of a hideous ugly old hag - BUT it's a trick. If you still show interest in her, she will then reveal that the ugly face is in fact ANOTHER mask, and when she removes it.. underneath is a stunning beauty, before giving you a night you'll never forget.

I would say it's worth it more now to check this game out, if not least for nostalgic purposes, on an emulator like RetroArch, because at least now, you can save literally as you go, or rewind - so if you do slip up during any of those conversations, you can immediately go back and correct your mistake.

that's how the movies and books were. emmanuelle as well as any other women were always up for fucking pretty much anyone anywhere. although it was never done rudely, but everyone always scored regardless of age or gender.

sounds like a cool game for the time. somehow I never ran into it. wouldn't mind playing a modern renpy sandbox with that idea, but of course a bit better written.

From the Strip Concentration & Dice seems the first erotic video game in 1979.

For your other point it remind me of this sketch:
