Eris Dysnomia surprises me. This game is one of the most unique H-game I've ever played, masterfully combined the sex part of the game with its high octane hack n' slash styled gameplay without missing a beat. This game also introduced mechanics and strange unique quirks that I never know an H-game needed.
+--Art: the art in this game is very solid. Although there's probably a lot of stock, free assets used and improvements that can be made to the (non-boss) enemy designs, the rest is very fine art and I'm a big fan of it.
+--Sounds: the SFX choices is really awesome, the sounds of your attacks pops out a lot and are very satisfying to hear. The music is very good too. Well, a few of them are free assets too from what I can see, but you gotta have to admit that the developer did a great job picking them.
+--Gameplay: now this is where the fun starts. The gameplay is honestly one of the best out of all the games I've ever played.
-Offense and defense: for an H-game, this one feature quite the in-depth fighting mechanics. Your attacks are tied to a bar, which indicates how much attacks you can chain. This limitation really helps with balancing the game, as it can get very boring really fast if you can just mindlessly mashing one move. You have 3 styles of attacks: unarmed, scythe and guns. Each style serves different purposes and varying degree of difficulty to use.
Your defense is also interesting. You can guard by pressing down, but it'll take away your MP gauge. This is where Just Guard comes in, by blocking right as the attack is about to connect, you'll take less chip damage from blocking AND regain MP. The game also features a cancel mechanic, by performing guard after an attack, you can do another action sooner. This is some advanced stuff that I massively appreciate in games like this, because it opens to a lot more stuff you previously can't do without guard cancels and adds a lot of depth to an already interesting game.
-Ability: this game actually has an ability system, and oh man I didn't expect it to be this cool. The abilities add a lot to your gameplan, from simply increasing your attack damage to crazy stuff like summoning bats, making all of your hits critical, increases the amount of chains you can do, etc. Eris Dysnomia is really creative on these abilities and it's really fun seeing the way they combine together. It's also very balanced because you can only have 5 of them at the same time and their upgrades is costly, but that's more than enough for you to feel like you're dominating everything in front of your face.
-Bosses: since it's a hack n' slash, the game's enemies are most of the time (if you got good at the game) just combo food for you to feast on. Bosses, however, are different. Each one of them is very well-designed and actually requires you to be strategic and use your arsenal as wise as possible. All bosses are armored, meaning they will ignore your attacks and perform their moves as usual, your task is basically destroy their armor gauge and then combo them until that gauge recovers. Each boss challenges you to learn its attack patterns and respect them until their armor depletes, in which case you'll take a turn and beating them up. The bosses are no jokes, they're genuinely challenging if you're not careful. I had a lot of fun figuring out and defeating each boss, even if it's a bit annoying that they kill you in like 3 touches (granted, I was playing on hard mode).
+--H-content: not only the game is excellent at the gameplay, the game is also very good at combining it with the sexual content.
-Fetishes: The game features a very distinct mechanic: "fetishes". These fetishes are pretty fun to collect as your character gets more and more every enemy encounter. In terms of gameplay, the enemies aren't very unique, but when it comes to fetishes, they each affects you in different ways, effectively making you "collecting" fetishes for fun :]. I don't really see any effects on gameplay in terms of these fetishes, but there's probably something in there.
-Sex debuffs: There's also sex "abilities". Whenever you get into a scene, there's a chance it will replace your abilities with a sex ability, which gives you debuffs like randomly masturbating, instantly lose when you get cummed inside, etc. What's cool is that this gives you a purpose to check for your ability slots every now and then after you get into a sex scene, to remove them. This adds another layer into the gameplay and I like the idea of it a lot. If you want to play seriously, then you must pay attention, but if you want to goof around with these sex skills, then you can put it on during gallery viewing and/or using them as challenges. This dynamic is very unique amongst H-games, and I really like this approach towards combining the gameplay with the sex scenes.
-Aroused state: There's more to the sex intruding the gameplay though, because mashing isn't always the best answer. Sometimes, one of your arrows become hearted, and you might get into trouble carelessly mashing and may get into an H-scene. On the occasions that you get overwhelmed by the enemies, getting into an aroused state actually handicaps you, as you can't properly attack and may leave you vulnerable for free attacks. You can escape with the various abilities that helps you purify yourself and changing to gun/scythe style to get temporal actions.
-The H-scenes themselves are, of course, very fetishy, and if you enjoy those kind of stuff, this is a gold mine. The different game overs in each of the 5 bosses, the different scenes from the monsters, they're all really great stuff.
+--Post-game content: you also get a whole ass gallery, which you can try to collect and see all of what the game offers, including H-scenes, graphics like effects, Eris' animations, enemies' animations. It's really fun to try and see all of them thanks to the ability to spawn enemies in the gallery room. You also have Arena mode, which is a lot of fun to go through after you've beaten the final boss, so you still have gameplay content to enjoy even after you've seen all of the H-scenes and whatnot.
+--Misc.: I am a big fan of difficulty in this game. It really helps people who are into the H-scenes part of the game (which again, there's a lot to consume) get to there easily to not discourage people who just want good ass sex. The story is... non-existent, but that is fine since there's probably no story anyways, the game just wanted to give lots of fetishy stuff alongside a cool and very fun beat 'em up. The UI of this game is rather lacking, I assume due to the engine it was built on, so menus aren't very common and traversing, even starting the game requires gameplay input instead of traditionally navigating the title screen. P.s I also like the clothing system, they're a whole lot of fun and give our protagonist a little drip to style on the enemies, wish that you can color change your stuff directly instead of following a set amount of given colors.
+--Conclusion: there's a lot I can say about this game, and all of it isn't anything remotely bad. It's just really really good at doing its own thing, unique from most H-games, and doing it really really well. I think what it is doing is amazing, and I really recommend this to both the hardcore players and the H-scenes fans. 9.9/10.
