So as of late I've been playing CRPGs, mostly Baldur's gate, Disco Elysium, and the original Fallout games. Most recently Baldur's Gate 3 has room for surface level nudity and romance plot, but I couldn't help but wonder why they aren't more popular in this sphere in particular! Given that most of the games on this forum are Renp'y asset regurgitations (which, no offense to any developer's but it get's harder to ignore the more of them you play) I was wondering why one wouldn't go the classic isometric style? If people in the 90's were able to use it on old tech, why wouldn't people take advantage of it now? They could utilize the 2dcg format for specific scenes, and create their own background for sprites to walk on.
