Eternum is undeniably captivating at first glance, but its allure fades all too quickly. One cannot overlook the glaring flaw of having only a single male character who objectifies women, which not only lacks authenticity but also detracts from the overall experience. The game desperately needs more than a repetitive harem concept to truly engage players. While the graphics are undeniably stunning, they alone cannot elevate it to a truly exceptional level. I will continue to thoroughly evaluate the game and adjust my review accordingly. However, it is crucial to acknowledge that the game fails to resonate with women and instead alienates them with its introduction of a lone male protagonist and a shallow harem concept. The presence of just one male character who objectifies women is not only unrealistic but also discouraging. The game demands greater depth and substance beyond a tired harem concept

Yeah, yeah, another 5 star review for this game, more news at 11. Well, please bear with me for a moment, as I attempt to summerize why I think this is the best game on the website, and many others feel the same.

Story:

The game takes place in a contemporary setting, though with 1 big difference. There’s a super advanced VR game called "Eternum", that has taken the world by storm. The creator of said game, “the Founder”, has come up with a hunt for 10 MacGuffins, and plans to make whoever finds them his successor. You quickly realize that Eternum is more than meets the eye, and the mysteries surrounding the game and its creator push the narrative forward.

While the plot itself isn’t the most interesting I’ve seen around here, the solid writing keeps it engaging constantly. The setting of a VR game with various servers that look and feel completely different, allows for several self-contained stories with tons of variety. There’s several moments of humor, action, and even horror-like tension. It’s a solid read, easy to lose yourself in.

Design:

Like the dev’s previous work, this game has my favorite approach to VN design, one that I feel is grossly underused. The game is very much a choice driven VN, where your actions have consequences. However, when it comes to handling the LIs, the game makes it very easy to pursue her if you want to. The game warns you whether she enjoyed your replies and tells you if you screw up beyond repair. It also never forces you to give up one girl for another. No need for guides, mods or gallery unlocks. You can boot up the update, play the game normally, and see every H-scene. It’s a game that respects my time and doesn’t expect me to play it over and over with a guide on my lap, just to see all the spicy scenes.

Visuals.

The dev’s previous work already had displayed major visual improvements during its development, but this one is on a whole different level. Once again, the variety of environments allowed by the setting shines through, with space stations, castles, medieval villages, pirate ships, modern day cities and so on. No other game in here comes close to the visual variety on display here. Everything is carefully crafted, and a setting used on a single update here looks better than main areas used all throughout other games.

The sex scenes look good from the start, but the last couple of updates have solidified this game as having some of the best on the site. The graphic quality already would have made them very good to begin with, but the stellar animation work really put the sex scenes here several steps above it’s peers (the guy that gave this a 1/5 a few reviews below, and said these were standard HS animations is either trolling, or has never played another HS game in his life). The way the girls’ bodies react to each thrust feels impactful, their asses jiggling, and even their surroundings react at times. The sex has a believable pacing, as opposed to many other games that do custom animations and end up making movements slow and robotic. On a technical level, this game is far beyond what you usually find out here.

However, since nothing is perfect, I do have an issue with the game’s art direction. An issue carried over from Once in a Lifetime, and that is the lack of body variety. All the main LIs are very slim, fair skinned, and 6/7 of them range from age 18 to 21. The one mature LI at 39 years old, barely looks older than her daughters, with her big tits perky like she’s in her teens. The one truly noticeable difference between their bodies being breast size.

The girls do look good, and I get that that’s just how the dev likes his women, and it’s a generally safe and well-liked archetype, but I feel like some variety is important in porn games. Have someone a little thicker, someone with a little darker skin or one that actually looks older. Hell, maybe give some tan to the swimmer girl. As it stands, all the girls kinda blend together. I hope that in the future, the dev can use more side girls as an opportunity to alleviate this.

Conclusion:

While I did finish that last section with a criticism, its ultimately a nitpick. The visuals, the writing, the animations are all top-notch. Unless you have specific kinks you’re looking for and find vanilla harems to be too boring, you should have a great time playing this game. Very easy recommendation from me.

One of the best worlds and stories on this website. I like a majority of the characters (really all of them). The world is a lot of fun. It balances low stakes slice of life with higher stakes life and death.

Generally speaking, the dialogue is good. It gets slow at certain points, but mostly I'm interested in all the text.

Really, my only complaint is that I wish the updates were faster, but the render quality makes that obviously impossible.

I know that each individual has their own tastes, but rating this game with 1 star its unbelievable.
Nice story, nice renders, nice characters and one of the best devs in AVN community equals to an outstanding VN.

Nice game from an established developer.

Firstly, it has impressive renders and animations. The developer has expanded on the assets thanks to their previous game.

While the story itself is not complex or groundbreaking, it serves well as a porn narrative. It holds itself together with occasional jokes thrown in.

The game introduces a cliffhanger with every update, which makes me inclined to wait for the entire game.

What I disliked the most is the lack of conflict and the excessive protectiveness towards the MC. Unfortunately, the target audience seems to be primarily focused on adult content.

Another issue is that decisions seem to have little impact.

Considering it's mainly a porn game, it's understandable if you're not expecting AAA.

Well. I played 0.7 and renders are form other world. This game have the best renders from all the games i ever played and I played many.
Story telling is very good and diffrent from other games.
You just MUST to try this game yourself.

Some of the best scenes in and NSFW game I've ever seen, and yet I still would play for the story alone. All the characters are unique within the story and fit well with each other, wich helps with the harem not feeling too unrelealistic, despite the lack of use of the typical plot devices like mental manipulaiton and the type. Some characters also possess special characteristics, wich shape their personalities and interactions in a compelling way.

After finally giving this a chance, part of me wishes that I hadn't. Id rather stay in my mentality where this is one of the best VNs, but I was just met with an overrated mess

- Story 3/10 (generic isekai/Ready PLayer One copy, no thanks)
- Animations 5/10 (standard HS animations, nothins special)
- Characters 4/10 (I can appreciate that the dev has put work into making them look unique, wish he'd done it for their personalities too)
- Renders 7/10 (these are pretty good, but not good enough to make up for everything else)
- Music 3/10 (the songs aren't bad, but they're completely unfitting for the scenes they're in

Beautiful Renders, an Intriguing story and an amazing cast of Girls.
A non-annoying main character who does sensible things. The puzzles were not annoying and didn't take anything away from the game. And the sound tracks. Bravo for the selections, truly they make the game more immersive.

It's only on V0.6 and I'm already blown away. Far and beyond one of the best AVNs I've ever played. I was dreading catching up with the story and for good reason. Any other VN just doesn't seem appealing!

I played Once In A Lifetime not too long ago, and that was a blast, but this is something else altogether. Every single model is great (especially Alex and Nancy) and the characters are all bursting with personality. I enjoyed every bit of this and cannot wait for more. Keep up the awesome work! Definitely will be supporting your works from here on out.

Nice Honey Select graphics. The characters look incredible, especially their faces. The lightning and rigging look weird at times, but nothing major. The 3d animations are a nice bonus for this type of game.

The overall idea of the game is good and interesting but the execution is just... horrible. The lack of writing skill and originality gets evident as the story progresses and just gets you out of the game really fast. Not to mention the cheesy moments that just keep coming one after another. I think the author managed to squeeze them all into the story somehow.

To preface this review, I have tried Eternum back in 2021 and came off feeling meh on it at the time but saw it had potential.

So i was surprised that i came back to it a year later with everyone glazing it, giving it 5 star glowing reviews, calling it a "must play".

So i decided what the hell maybe they really added a lot of quality content since i last played it, everyone's raving about it might as well check it out.

Played it for a bit now exhausted all content and i gotta say, This game was overhyped as all hell and it fails to deliver. like I thought i was taking crazy pills seeing how much praise its getting for such a mediocre VN.

The story feels like it shouldn't be a AVN at all, It's a bad Sci Fi VR Extravaganza going through multiple realms (servers in this case) with all the cliches you would expect. The writing feels a bit childish a lot of the time, just resorting to the good old "Chosen One" schtick and every girl seems to fall head over heels for you after one encounter.

The "Adult" part in the Adult Visual Novel is sorely lacking , Spicy Scenes in this game come few and far between, Taking a backseat to the cheesy worldbuilding and story.

As for the scenes themselves, after going through a mountain of text the reward is a Blowjob or a Thighjob with most of them. The pacing is just too slow to justify the amount and quality of H scenes that you get.

Lighting is weird and some of the models are off looking sometimes, but other than that the visuals are good.

Overalll its not a bad AVN, Im sure there are a lot of slop worse than this.
It's just sadly average.

Seriously amazing game, compared to some other Ren'Py games the care put into the art and graphics are leagues above what I have come to expect from the genre/engine.

Played halfway through till I lost Annie and restarted with a walkthrough, although the choices are defined well enough that most people will see everything without worry.

Rarely leave reviews on stuff like this but I couldn't help but keep booting this up it was seriously fun!

The humour was great and the references to other games were weaved really well into the narrative. Had to pause every so often to laugh, looking forward to more!

Eternum [v0.7.0]

Pros:
+ Great worldbuilding with a variety of different settings
+ Engaging story and good pacing
+ Humorous (found myself laughing quite a few times)
+ Fun character interactions (between characters too, not just with MC)
+ Solid cast of characters with a lot of variety
+ Good animations, sound effects, ambience
+ Variety of adult scenes, some spicier than others, most well done

Cons:
- Not as emotionally engaging with characters as some other games
- Music wasn't particularly memorable, but not bad either

I've played through a couple of dozen visual novels, and this one is my overall favorite ongoing one! There's nothing to complain about at all, and the variety of environments visited throughout the story really keeps it interesting. The characters are great and the interactions they have with each other or the MC are sometimes pretty interesting and sometimes funny. The conversations are fun to read.

Many players will point to the world-building, the story, animations, character designs, many things as their favorite aspects. The humor in it gets quite a few chuckles out of me as well. But for me, if I had to pick one thing...

What it comes down to, besides the epic story and world-building, is there's something magical about the relationships between all of the characters. Harem endings aren't generally my thing, in fact, I mostly hate them. And who knows if there will be one for this game like Once in a Lifetime. That being said, these two games by Caribdis are games where it feels "right" to go down the harem path. Where it feels everyone just gels so well together, not just with the MC. Caribdis does a good job of creating this kind of atmosphere and relationship between characters. They interact well with each other and I feel it's a great and sometimes overlooked part of the game.

If you're looking for something similar but completed, check out Caribdis's other game, Once in a Lifetime (completed).

Just try it. if you have ever liked adult VNs, Im 99% certain you'll like it. If you've never tried Adult VNs but are reading this, Im fairly certain you'll like this too.

Dont worry about all the girls looking the same, you'll soon learn to differentiate and love them.

Summary
Amazing Story infinite potential if you think about the world in eternum has endless possibilities, just hope that the game will never end at 1.0 or hopefully there will be 0.11.0, 0.111.0 (although highly unlikely) just imagine with the endless adventure and exploring with the girls in eternum world, but given how the story progress as of v0.6.2 tells me that its nearly the end "all good things will eventually end" / "nothing is eternal"
or whatever Caribdis/Team had planned in mind I know its definitely better ending than what i had in mind. though i have not thought what lead to those scenarios hahaha. OVERALL 50 out of 5 Stars. How can other give less than 5 stars Definitely support Caribdis/Team whenever you guys/ i can through Pateron & SubscribeStar or if there is a steam release in the future

Fantastic story, forgot about the porn entirely at times.
I wasn't super keen on the visuals based on some of the screenshots, but once I started playing I actually thought the game looked great.
The models and locales which aren't just recycled assets like most VNs on here either! (as far as I can tell)
It seems safe to just romance everyone as far as I can tell from my playthrough, not a problem but a little jealously thrown in might have been a nice touch.

I regret diving into this game; it set my standards so high that now, immersing myself in others feels like a struggle, and boredom is painfull. It's gonna take some time, for sure.

MC: Orion has become one of my all-time favorite characters. He's written exceptionally well, unlike the usual game characters you find here. Funny, with good humor, an overall likable personality. He's not the type whose brain gets transferred to his knees after a power-up. He's not perfect, but he acknowledges his shortcomings and seeks help when needed.

Love Interest: Everyone feels ALIVE. Caribdis took the time to develop them thoroughly. They're not just there as pleasure tools for MC or shelth for his... you know. They're as relevant to the story as the main character. By the way, Penelope is the best girl ❤, followed by Nancy ❤.

Story and Setting: Nothing spectacular or unpredictable, many common clichés, but everything it does, it does REAL GOOD. There are literally no boring moments. It's like they cut out all the useless filler and deliver only the best parts.

Animations and Music: Perfect. I've seen better animations, but what makes Eternum stand out is the music and sound effects that fit perfectly with each scene. They make the story more interesting and immersive.

Seggs: There aren't many, but each one is gold.

The best game I have ever played on this website. Hands down. Good content all around and I cannot wait to see how this all finishes. Even the jokes in this game made me laugh out loud at points.
